We will come again

We were for the second time in the small cozy house of Mrs. Meusel.

Small but nice, we lacked nothing, everything you need is available. My husband fixed one of the two bicycles for me, so I could take my rounds. Very clean. Nice contact and Mrs. Meusel is reachable at any time and can help. The only thing that personally bothers me a bit is the small refrigerator, but that's just a matter of organization; I have a large one at home and I'm just spoiled. But everything fit.
Thank you, Ms. Meusel, we are planning the next visit for May 2027.
We can definitely recommend it.

Thank you for everything

Again and again, gladly!

Our stay at the holiday home De Tong 43 in Bruinisse was simply perfect all around. The house is very well-maintained, tastefully furnished, and wonderfully quiet. We particularly enjoyed the lovingly designed garden and the relaxed atmosphere, perfect for unwinding. The communication was friendly, straightforward, and very helpful. We felt welcome and comfortable from the first minute and would love to come back anytime. A clear recommendation for anyone seeking peace and comfort.

Which sights are there in Bruinisse?

Sights & More

Whether it's a cozy holiday home near the beach with multiple bedrooms and bathrooms, a house in a holiday park, or a small apartment in Zierikzee, renting a private accommodation in Bruinisse offers many interesting sights. Fishing has always played an important and large role in Zeeland. At the Fishing Museum, you can learn all about the history of fishing in this region. Learn more about the elaborate traditional costumes of the Zeelanders and about the new and old fishing methods. The magnificent nature is also very suitable for a cycling or hiking holiday in Bruinisse. Picturesque villages and beautiful landscapes are just waiting to be discovered by you. For example, choose the 61-kilometer bike tour "The Victory Over Water," where you should stop at the Watersnoodramp Museum in Ouwekerk. If you haven't brought a bicycle with you on your holiday in an affordable apartment or holiday home, you can rent one in Bruinisse. The quaint fishing village is also a popular destination for snorkelers and divers at Grevelingenmeer. The marina with its floating terrace invites you to linger and relax. Also very popular is a hike over the six-kilometer-long Grevelingendam with a shipping lock. Here you can watch the incoming and outgoing ships and boats. The canal connects Schouwen-Duiveland with Goeree-Overflakkee.

What do you need to experience in Bruinisse?

What Must You Do in Bruinisse?

An accommodation in Bruinisse at Zierikzee on the Schouwen-Duiveland peninsula offers plenty of leisure opportunities. An absolute highlight is the Visserijdage in July. Of course, the nearby Rotterdam with its impressive zoo is also worth a visit. All holiday homes and apartments in Schouwen-Duiveland have one thing in common: they are painted in bright Dutch tradition and lovingly furnished. Many accommodations have a garden that invites you to relax and barbecue. After a long walk in the winter, you can make yourself comfortable by the fireplace. TVs and Wi-Fi keep you updated with news. Visit the enchanting North Sea with its beautiful beaches at Renesse or take a long walk through the largest forest in Zeeland. There are also many beautiful mountain bike routes here. South of the city, the floodwater museum "Watersnoodmuseum" in Ouwerkerk invites you to visit. The Dutch cities of Middelburg, Veere, and Domburg are also worth a visit. For a longer excursion, the city of Antwerp, which has numerous historical and cultural attractions, is an option. For example, the Cathedral of Our Lady. You can see the tallest tower in the Benelux countries from afar. The spacious, beautiful holiday park Aquadelta is located very close to Bruinisse and offers, among other things, an indoor swimming pool, a mini-golf course, a bowling alley, and a tennis court. At Grevelingenmeer, you can dive, fish, canoe, sail, or just relax on the sandy beach. Of course, there are also numerous hotels nearby, where you can enjoy culinary delights in their restaurants. During the bombing raids in World War II, some historic buildings in Bruinisse were destroyed. Today, the former fishing village is characterized by contemporary activities such as the bowling center or the golf course. The mussel is the emblem of the village, so it is not surprising that two museums are dedicated to the delicious seafood.

Here stands the Westerlicht, the most famous lighthouse in Zeeland. It has a height of 58 meters and was the inspiration for the image on the 250-guilder note. Deltapark Neeltje Jans is a water park that you and your children will love. The Delta Experience exhibition tells the story of the impressive structure with a fascinating 4D animation. During a boat trip, you have the opportunity to admire the Delta Works up close. Visit the lively show with seals and sea lions or let your kids play on the water playground. The marina is awarded the Blue Flag and has 300 berths, a playground, and a clubhouse overlooking the Krabbenkreek. This is the home of oyster fishermen, curlews, sandpipers, and turnstones. But the Grevelingen Meer is also a wonderful destination in the Netherlands. Around the lake, there are numerous holiday resorts with villas, apartments, and holiday homes with Wi-Fi and multiple bedrooms. In the town of Goes, the Omnium offers a special water fun for you and your children. There are also squash and tennis courts, three sports halls, and climbing opportunities. A visit to the play farm in Nieuwvliet is also nice. In addition to an exciting technology store, the farm has an outdoor and indoor playground.

A Paradise for Food Lovers

Crabs, oysters, and mussels, as well as salty vegetables, pears, black currants, asparagus, and apples: during a holiday in a holiday home in Bruinisse at Zierikzee, you will experience culinary delights. The orchards, polders, the sea, and the fields are full of aromatic, fresh products. When dining out in a restaurant in Zeeland, try a lavish fish platter, a classically prepared Oosterschelde lobster, or sea bass. In many mussel restaurants, steaming large pots of mussels are placed on the table. Most chefs use beef from Zeeland pastures and sheep that graze on the salty meadows on Noord-Beveland. Traditional asparagus dishes consist of boiled asparagus with egg and ham. Of course, there are also numerous sweet treats in Bruinisse, such as the Bolus, often served with a piece of butter on top. These soft yeast rolls rolled in brown sugar are available at almost every bakery. Caramel candies not only taste good, but they also make great souvenirs.
