Had a wonderful week at the Zandput 4.

I was in Zoutelande last week at park de Zandput. I had cottage number 4. Together with my little dog, we had a wonderful week. The garden is fenced, so it's very nice if you bring a pet. You are nicely sheltered. The cottage is cozy (Ibiza style) and equipped with all conveniences. Not very big, but everything you might need is present. The beds are comfortable. The bathroom is also very tidy and optimally arranged. Small kitchen but everything is present here, even a dishwasher. There are even bicycles available for use. Accommodation is suitable for older people, families with children, and your pet is also allowed.
I felt at ease upon entering. The surroundings are also ideal. Close to the sea, supermarket, and the village.

I say see you next year!

Which sights are there in Zoutelande?

Bunkers in the Dunes

A vacation in Zoutelande in the Zeeland countryside offers you not only beaches and sea but also some impressive sights. On a free and round village square stands the church built in 1270. Guided tours are offered here during the high season. Another destination is a windmill on Molenweg, built in 1722. Additionally, you will find several bunker remains from World War II in the area.

In the summer, you can visit the Bunker Museum Zoutelande, located in two bunkers built by German forces in the dunes. The museum is closed over the winter, with the last opening in October. Also worth seeing is the lighthouse "De Sergeant", which, together with the lighthouses in Westkapelle, forms a leading light. Or take a trip to Domburg, the administrative seat of the municipality of Veere. Visit the beautiful beach or the water tower, which is the landmark of the city.

What is a must-see in Zoutelande?

Nowhere Else Has More Museums

Even outside your accommodation, there is much to experience. Throughout Zeeland, for example, there are various art routes. In Vlissingen, there are hiking and biking trails that lead past fascinating artworks. A route on Schouwen-Duiveland takes you through twelve island villages and past works by over 200 artists. On two weekends in August, it's "Kunstspoor" on Noord-Beveland. Then art is linked with a folk festival, and you experience numerous masterpieces in various galleries on the island.

The unique province of Zeeland is already regionally known for its great museums. Zeeland has the most museums per capita in the Netherlands. We recommend, for example, the Zeeuws Museum in the historic abbey of Middelburg with its impressive collection of tapestries. A ticket costs 12.50€ for adults from 18 years old. All younger museum-goers enter for free. It is open from Tuesday to Sunday from 11-17 hours. In the muZEEum Vlissingen, the focus is mainly on Zeeland's maritime history. This museum is also open Tuesday to Sunday from 10-17 hours. Admission prices are 10.50€ for adults, and for children and teenagers from 4 to 17 years old, it's 5€.

Or take the Museumszug Goes-Borsele. This is a steam locomotive ride where you learn all about Zeeland's history. Even in bad weather! In the Polderhaus in Westkapelle, it's all about the history of Walcheren, from the Iron Age to today. From the lookout towers, you can see how close the towns and the sea are - only separated by an impressive dike.

Where can I eat out in Zoutelande?

Asian and Rich in Vegetables

Get to know the cuisine and numerous restaurants of the region! Rent a holiday home on Zuiderstrand and discover the culinary delights of Zoutelande and Zeeland. Over the years, some multicultural influences have been integrated. The rather exotic dishes and ingredients have gradually mixed with the typical regional dishes. Saté is now considered a national dish, although its origin is in East Asia. Asian spices and marinades are also very popular in Zeeland.

And if you don't want to travel far from your holiday accommodation, just stay in Zoutelande and enjoy your time at the beach and by the sea.
