Holiday home Zoutelande

Everything had been perfect. We enjoyed our stay in their vacation home. The vacation home was furnished with a lot of love and the kitchen was very well equipped. We really enjoyed using the gazebo in the garden for our play afternoons. Thank you for the great hospitality. We will definitely come back again.

Sunny greetings from Quadrath-Ichendorf.

Which sights are there in Veere?

Multi-faceted Zeeland

Not every day is ideal for spending at the beach. How about a trip to the former garrison town of Vlissingen? The town is located on the southern coast of Walcheren, a peninsula in Zeeland. Among the most famous attractions on the Dutch coast is Fort Rammekens. The fort, located in Ritthem, is considered the oldest European sea fort. An exciting visit for your child. The old stock exchange of Vlissingen is a building that illustrates the classic architectural elements of the Renaissance. Let the architecture impress you from a distance. Find affordable accommodation on Walcheren. The city of Middelburg is the capital of Zeeland. Discover historical details and visit the Zeeuws Museum. The Lange Jan is a 90-meter tower that offers a great panoramic view over the Walcheren peninsula. Among the most famous buildings in Middelburg is the market with a house featuring Gothic windows. The trading town of Veere had significant importance as early as the 12th century and served as a storage for Scottish wool. On Kaai, you can still find two such houses that remind us of Veere's heyday. The Campveerse Tower, dating back to the 16th century, served to defend Veere. Many of Veere's houses from the 17th century are listed as historical monuments.

What do you need to experience in Veere?

Melancholy and Wanderlust in the Netherlands

The inland water Veerse Meer borders the northeast of the Walcheren peninsula. With a maximum depth of 17 meters, it also separates the peninsula of Noord-Beveland from another peninsula called Zuid-Beveland. The inland sea is an important habitat for species such as brown trout, parchment tube worm, or the Zuiderzee crab. The best way to discover this region is with a vacation apartment in Kamperland or Kortgene. These places, like the beautiful town of Veere, are located directly on the shore of the Veerse Meer in Zeeland. Wherever you find the perfect house, you will like it and will take Veere and its surroundings to your heart.

What can you experience in Veere with children?

Private with the Family or Full Throttle?

Veere offers plenty for an unforgettable family vacation on Walcheren. The Miniature Walcheren Miniature Park delights with many houses and towers that you have surely already discovered in reality. At the indoor playground or the ship swing, there are many more offers to make your vacation in Veere fly by. At Berkenhof's Tropical Zoo in Kwadendamme, you can discover over 50 tropical animal species. If waiting until next winter seems too long: dare to hit the white ski slopes at Skidome Terneuzen in the town of the same name. Among the most popular destinations for a vacation with children are Klimbos Zeeuwse Helden in Westerschouwen. The climbing park offers plenty of variety and enough challenge that everyone falls asleep within minutes in the vacation apartment in the evening, including your pet. Interesting and exciting at the same time is the Groede Podium on the Zeeuws-Vlaamsen coast. Water basins and climbing towers, along with many other attractions, are the highlights of this child-friendly play and information park.

Where can I eat out in Veere?

Culinary Delights in Veere

The cuisine of Zeeland is extremely tasty and enticing. Visit a nice restaurant located on the promenade of Veere. The spicy sea air makes you hungry anyway. Look forward to specialties like freshly caught fish. In the historic harbor, you can watch fish being sold directly from the cutter. You can taste this quality in Zeeland oysters or Oosterschelde lobster. Have you tried the Roomboterbabbelaars yet? These fine caramel candies are worth every sin. Buy a few kilos of this temptation and place a bowl on the terrace of your vacation apartment. In the warm sunlight with a view of the Dutch coast, not only will the candies melt. A relaxing vacation in Zoutelande always includes a stop at an ice cream parlor or a snack bar. Many sporting activities await you on the beach promenade, which you can reward yourself with one of the Zeeland specialties afterwards. It gets especially cozy in the evening. Sit in one of the many cafes in Veere and enjoy a glass of wine as the sun sets and the untamed sea of the North Sea coast. Then continue celebrating in your apartment, a cozy flat, or the accommodation for you and your pet.

What is a must-see in Veere?

Artistic Highlights in Veere and Surroundings

The famous Onze-Lieve-Vrouwekerk is a beautiful church in Veere. The late Gothic church was never completed and today serves as a so-called culture church. Domburg also has a special landmark. The water tower is visible from afar. With a small apartment in Domburg, you are in the cultural center of the town and can explore Zeeland from here. Normally, Domburg is quite quaint, but during the annual jazz festival or carnival, the small town becomes a crowd-puller. How closely Veere, Zeeland, and the sea are connected is illustrated by the Delta Works. These protect the entire province of Zeeland from floods and high water. The Oosterschelde storm surge barrier consists of mobile barriers and dikes. These are located between the islands of Noord-Beveland and Schouwen-Duiveland. You would hardly suspect this in your idyllically located vacation apartment in Veere. All the more beautiful when you can stroll along the beach with your dog without worry and enjoy a carefree vacation in Zeeland.
