A perfect holiday home

Thank you very much, Hirsch family, for this beautiful holiday home. We felt very comfortable. Everything is available that one needs for a nice holiday home vacation. It is the first holiday home that is so well equipped. The kitchen is small but nice and very well stocked with everything. Pots, pans, dishes, and cutlery are more than enough. The refrigerator also has a good size. The paths to the dike, bakery, and restaurants are only a few minutes' walk away. The bed linen and towels are also of good quality and sufficiently available. Small samples in the bathroom were also considered. And the cleanliness was top-notch. The only small downside is the garden loungers. They should be replaced. But otherwise, there is nothing to complain about, and we will definitely come back. Thank you for everything.

Wir können dieses Haus jedem empfehlen, der noch keinen Rollstuhl oder Probleme mit Treppen hat. Die Lage ist super. Und obwohl so nahe am Geschehen äußerst ruhig. Die Betreuung durch Herrn Pilger dem Hausverwalter war wie immer optimal. Wir bedauern sehr, dass er in den Ruhestand geht. Gönnen ihm aber von Herzen noch viele Jahre in Gesundheit und Glück. Danken ihm auf diesem Weg für die gute Urlaubsversorgung in den letzten Jahren. Und ein herzliches Dankeschön an die Vermieterin mit ihrem Ausnahmen. Wir, unsere Kinder und Enkel haben uns in ihrem Haus sehr wohl gefühlt. Danke noch mal.

If you thought there are no attractions around a dike and on the beach, let the North Sea prove you wrong. Popular destinations include the numerous lighthouses along the coast and on the islands. What do you need to experience at the North Sea?

The Wadden Sea - UNESCO World Natural Heritage since 2009

If you don't go on a mudflat hike during your vacation at the North Sea, you're missing one of the country's greatest attractions. The Wadden Sea National Park is divided into the Hamburg, Schleswig-Holstein, and Lower Saxony Wadden Sea. All three parts are part of the UNESCO World Natural Heritage Wadden Sea. It's best to book a guided tour, as no one can provide you with more information about the nature reserve than a knowledgeable local staff member. Along the North Sea and on the islands, there are information centers with informative exhibitions that are also very interesting for children. The National Park House Wurster North Sea Coast in Dorum-Neufeld features large aquariums where you can watch some inhabitants of the mudflats live in action. The offer also includes special mudflat hikes for families, ornithological tours, bike tours, and sea sparkle. The Multimar Wattforum in the cozy harbor town of Tönning is another information center, the largest in Schleswig-Holstein. From afar, you can see the slogan "Whales, Wadden Sea, and World Natural Heritage" on the facade. In addition to classic hikes through the mudflats, there are also tours in Low German, a tour of the aquariums in the dark, readings, and fish feedings. Many of the events are great for children, making the national park houses exciting excursion destinations for all family members. Whether the family heads to the East Frisian Islands, the North Frisian Islands, or the mainland—the next sandy beach is never far away. The fact that the water isn't really there at low tide often doesn't bother little water rats much. There's so much to discover in the mudflats that boredom is unlikely to arise. Plus, the kids will love stomping in the muddy silt. Make sure they take off their rubber boots before returning to the accommodation after such a hike. Families are especially found on the Eiderstedt Peninsula, on Borkum and Amrum, but also in Friedrichskoog and St. Peter-Ording in Schleswig-Holstein, as well as in Cuxhaven-Döse. Here, there are great beaches and numerous affordable vacation apartments and houses in close proximity to the beach and in quiet locations. If it happens to rain for three days, a visit to the adventure pool on Borkum will bring back the good mood. This is also true for parents, as it has a generous spa area. A major highlight for young vacationers is also a trip to the seal station Friedrichskoog, where they can watch seals and sea lions up close. In the family-friendly town of Friedrichskoog, over 2,500 square meters are reserved for limitless play fun: The 125-meter-long Whale Willi houses an indoor play park, offering everything from climbing walls to mazes to electric go-kart tracks, making little adventurers' hearts beat faster. To stay on the topic of animals: Is one of your best friends a dog? Then bring them along on the trip. Many accommodations welcome pets. To ensure that the vacation with a dog at the North Sea remains relaxed for everyone, please note that the four-legged friend is only allowed to romp and swim at specially designated beaches. Popular destinations include the "Windstärke 10" museum about fishing history in Cuxhaven, the German Maritime Museum in Bremerhaven, the East Frisian Tea Museum in Norddeich, and the Coastal Museum in Wilhelmshaven. Even the Hallig Hooge has a museum, namely the Homeland and Hallig Museum. Exhibitions and facilities in many other places also provide information about life at the North Sea, its history, and culture, such as the open-air dike museum in Büsum. Art lovers should keep an eye on the Nolde Foundation Seebüll. The famous painter Emil Nolde was born nearby. The museum hosts changing exhibitions each year but is closed over the winter. Literature enthusiasts will perk up at the name Theodor Storm: The writer was born in Husum. The house where he lived from 1866 to 1880 is now a museum and can be visited. Another poet, Joachim Ringelnatz, is commemorated in Cuxhaven with a foundation and exhibition rooms.
