Ferienwohnung Afrika is a cozy holiday apartment in the heart of Wittlich, Germany, which offers an African-inspired decor and atmosphere.

I felt very comfortable in the holiday apartment. Nothing was missing. The beach is reachable in a few minutes through the spa park. Supermarket and restaurants are just around the corner. Ideal for a holiday without a car. The train station is also less than 10 minutes walking distance away.
If you like it very quiet at night, you might feel a bit disturbed. The fan from the butcher in the alley of Mittelweg is very loud. But with closed windows, it's okay.
The water pressure could maybe be lowered a bit, because unfortunately, the taps in the bathroom, which need to be operated by a button, can also be heard by the neighbors. It slightly disturbs sleep at night and in the early morning.
But otherwise, the holiday apartment is still highly recommended. I would love to come back again.

Great, very well maintained holiday flat. Quiet location and if you like it a bit louder, then 2 minutes to the ferry and across from the Hohe Düne to Warnemünde.
The flat is fully furnished and in the kitchen you will find everything you need for a stay. Nice big bathroom with tub and shower and washing machine. On the terrace beach chair, barbecue and in the shed 2 bicycles, handcart, parasol, etc. Everything your heart desires to spend a wonderful holiday. Very nice and competent telephone contact with the owners. Everything is perfect.

Instead, a steady wind blows, distributing the healthy salty air everywhere - not just in the spa park.

Spring & Autumn

Spring and autumn, although off-peak seasons, are perfect for your stay depending on what you want to do in your free time. The milder temperatures attract many hikers, Nordic walkers, and cyclists. Passionate beach walkers also enjoy the tranquility before and after the school holidays and can look forward to a relaxed holiday with a romantic flair. To explore the numerous attractions in Warnemünde, Rostock, and the surrounding area, you don't need 30 degrees.
Also, for your holiday with a dog, the transitional months are ideal, as not only are sections of the dog beach open for the four-legged friends, but the entire beach as well. However, keep in mind that some areas still require dogs to be on a leash.

Which sights are there in Warnemünde?

Warnemünde has not just one, but two landmarks!

There are numerous excursion destinations, but some of the most beautiful attractions are located in the seaside resort itself - right outside the door of your vacation apartment or house. Two of the most important and also the landmarks of the city are the Warnemünder Teepott and the lighthouse. They stand right next to each other.
You can visit the lighthouse, built in 1897/98, daily from March to October from 10 AM to 6:30 PM. You should definitely do this, as it is 37 meters high and from there you have a wonderful view over the Baltic Sea beach and the harbor.
After your visit to the Warnemünde Lighthouse, head for a drink at the Teepott. This architecturally impressive building is under monument protection due to its extraordinary roof construction.

After refreshing, continue to the Westmole, which starts right next to the Teepott. It is 541 meters long, so you can walk far out into the Baltic Sea. At the end, there is a small mole light. If you follow the Westmole in the other direction, you will come back to the city center and automatically end up at the Old Stream. The former harbor entrance served ships for over 500 years as access to the Rostock harbor. Today, it is a popular meeting place for people of all ages. Other attractions in the city include historic buildings like the Warnemünder Church, the Vogtei from the year 1300, the Gallerieholländermühle, and the Alexandrinenstraße, which already existed when Warnemünde was still a fishing village.

If the local attractions are not enough, there are many more excursion destinations in the area.

Rostock – Take a look at the Marienkirche, the Kloster zum Heiligen Kreuz, or the town hall with its seven towers.

Kühlungsborn, – Discover numerous impressive villas in the style of resort architecture.

Fischland-Darß-Zingst – Spend a day on the peninsula and discover the "Gate" Graal-Müritz on the way there.

Music, Art, and Culture in the Air at the Baltic Sea Beach

It's always nice to know the history behind the place where you're enjoying a vacation at a fair price. So, head to the Heimatmuseum Warnemünde. It is housed in an old fisherman's house from 1767 and shows you what life was like for fishermen around the turn of the century before the seaside resort became what it is today.
If you are also interested in the development of shipbuilding, you should not miss the floating maritime museum in the Hanseatic city of Rostock.

Art Exhibitions

Are you passionate about painting and fine arts? Then the Edvard Munch House in the fisherman's house at Am Strom 53 is a worthwhile destination for you. Here, the Norwegian painter spent 18 months recovering from a life crisis. Today, the house welcomes musicians, painters, and writers from all over Germany, who live here for a while, are creative, and then present their works to the public. The Galerie Möller also regularly hosts exhibitions. These include not only paintings but also graphics, sculptures, and jewelry.

Events

If you don't want to spend the evening in your vacation apartment in Warnemünde, there are plenty of opportunities to attend events. In the summer, a stage is set up at the lighthouse.
