Beautiful vacation in a peaceful environment

The house and garden leave nothing to be desired in terms of equipment.

Everything has been furnished with great attention to detail, and there is also nothing missing in the kitchen.

Thanks to the fly screens, mosquitoes are not a problem either.

We had a very relaxing holiday and can only recommend this accommodation!

Perfect Baltic Sea vacation

The only thing that the Passig family, as the landlords of this wonderful holiday home, unfortunately had no control over was the weather. And even if they did, it would have been perfect. The accommodation is equipped with everything you need - and more! The furnishings are very cozy, the small garden with the terrace really invites you to enjoy the sun. Our dog Winya would have only needed the small lawn. She spent every moment there while we were in the house. Bike and walking paths right from the house, the beautiful village of Born with its thatched houses, the small harbor, the national park, in fact, the whole Darß! Here you can really enjoy a holiday! Particularly noteworthy is the nice care provided by the Bettac family, who ensure order on site. But the best part was the great contact with the Passig family, the landlords. No question remained unanswered here, and all in an exceptionally sympathetic manner. We say a big thank you and will definitely come again if we may. Which sights are there in Born?

Small but mighty! There's much to discover on the Darß

Born on the Darß is a small place with a manageable center. A walk is the best way to explore the main attractions of the former seafaring and fishing village.
In addition to many thatched houses with colorfully decorated Darßer doors, your path will also lead past the small Fisher's Church.

At the Borner Harbor, located in the north of the Koppelstrom between Saaler Bodden and Bodstedter Bodden, you can watch the hustle and bustle of boat owners or take a passenger ship to the other Fischland communities.

One of the undisputed highlights is the Western Pomerania Lagoon Area National Park. Born is the gateway to the national park: Whether on a hike or a bike tour – discover the beauty of the Darßer Forest.

Climb the 36-meter-high lighthouse at Darßer Ort. From up here, you have a fantastic view of the pristine Darßer West Beach and the Baltic Sea resort Prerow.

What is a must-see in Born?

A diverse offering of painting, music, and history

In addition to the Darßer Ort lighthouse at the northern tip of the Darß, there is also the Natureum, which provides information about the flora and fauna of the region. Here, you'll find a special exhibition on seals, where you can learn all about these mammals. The Natureum is open during the following times.

November to April: Wednesday to Sunday from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM

May, September, October: daily from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM

June to August: daily from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM

If you want to learn more about the formation and significance of the natural area, it's best to also visit the National Park Center Darßer Arche in the neighboring town of Wieck. Admission here costs 3.50 € per person. (As of November 2023)

If your fascination leans more towards music, you can be swept away by the classical concerts in the Fisher's Church.

Theater enthusiasts can also enjoy numerous events during the peak season as part of the Borner Summer Theater or the Darß Festival on the open-air stage.

A visit to the galleries of the former artists' colony Ahrenshoop should also not be missed.
