Oasis on the Darß

We were here in the autumn. The small house by the Bodden welcomed us so lovingly and beautifully furnished that we believed the landlords would like to live here themselves. Born is the most beautiful place on the Darß, and the "lütt hus" in the quiet by the Bodden became the most beautiful holiday home we have had so far. It is the ideal starting point for an active holiday. We rode our bikes directly from the house into and through the national park.

Small but fine.

Small cottage with thatched roof. What more could you want on the Darß?!

Perfectly suited for a cozy vacation for two or alone. Lovingly furnished and equipped with all necessities. With a separate bedroom upstairs and two single beds. Four-legged friends are welcome.

In the middle of the village and yet relaxing quiet. The bakery is across the street. Restaurants are within short distance. The bike rental is just around the corner.

Uncomplicated and very nice landlords. It was not the first time and will not be the last time! ! Thank you very much for the wonderful time! ! We are already looking forward to the next time! !

Simply breathtaking ? We will come back!!! r

We were also allowed to spend a wonderful vacation week in Born again this summer. Last year, we enjoyed a great vacation in the cute Backbord Katen of the Endruweit family, and this year we stayed wonderfully in Endruweit's Fischerhus. From the very first moment, it felt like a vacation. The house is simply great; you have everything you need. Nothing is missing. There is so much to discover in the house, and it is arranged with so much love, and everything just fits together perfectly. Under the thatched roof, we slept like in the seventh heaven in the large double bed. There is so much space everywhere, and the garden is simply great. We could enjoy our breakfast every morning in the cozy seating area (with fresh rolls from the bakery right across the street ?) and in the evenings, we enjoyed the last rays of sunshine in the sun lounger with a glass of wine. Our boxer dog also felt simply wonderful. The landlord also came by in person again, and we chatted nicely together again. The contact up to the booking went super and without problems. Born is simply so beautiful, and everything you need is nearby and easily accessible. Restaurants are all within walking distance in just a few minutes and very good. The Boddenstuf is just around the corner and highly recommended. But please make sure to reserve in advance! You can rent bicycles everywhere, cycle through the quaint Darss forest, go for a walk, and the first dog walk by the Bodden early in the morning is simply a dream. It takes only a few minutes by car to get to the Baltic Sea, and for all dog owners, the beach access 3 in Ahrenshoop is highly recommended. Very beautiful clean beach, and our furry friend felt very comfortable. Born is truly beautiful, and you just don't want to leave. We thank the Endruweit family. ❤️ Keep it up and we will definitely come back ?
Best regards from Saxony, the Lorenz family

Which sights are there in Born?

Small but mighty! There's much to discover on the Darß

Born on the Darß is a small place with a manageable center. A walk is the best way to explore the main attractions of the former seafaring and fishing village. In addition to many thatched houses with colorfully decorated Darßer doors, your path will also lead past the small Fisher's Church. At the Borner Harbor, located in the north of the Koppelstrom between Saaler Bodden and Bodstedter Bodden, you can watch the hustle and bustle of boat owners or take a passenger ship to the other Fischland communities. One of the undisputed highlights is the Western Pomerania Lagoon Area National Park. Born is the gateway to the national park: Whether on a hike or a bike tour – discover the beauty of the Darßer Forest. Climb the 36-meter-high lighthouse at Darßer Ort. From up here, you have a fantastic view of the pristine Darßer West Beach and the Baltic Sea resort Prerow.

What do you need to experience in Born?

What makes Born on the Darß a little paradise

It's not always the great wonders of the world that make something worth seeing. The best proof of this is the village of Born in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. The peaceful surroundings of the cozy holiday apartments with views of the Bodden allow you and your family to truly relax. On a hike or bike tour through the Darßer Forest and the unique landscape, you'll recharge your batteries. Excursions to the museums and art exhibitions of the neighboring communities Ahrenshoop, Wieck, and Zingst will amaze you.

What can you experience in Born with children?

Fischland-Darß-Zingst: a popular destination for a family holiday

In an affordable holiday apartment in Born in a quiet location, both parents and children can enjoy a family-friendly vacation. Water, beach, and sea are never far away in Born on the Darß. Don't miss the Borner Children's Festival in June. It's a real experience for the whole family. For older children, the Climbing Forest at Gut Darß is certainly an adventure. Eight courses up to 9 meters high await the brave climbers. You can also experience mini-golf or a farm tour, where you can watch the cows. Your pet is also warmly welcome in your private holiday apartment in Born. In the forest and by the water, your four-legged friend will feel comfortable, making the trip with a dog enjoyable for everyone. At the West Beach, pets can romp around unrestrictedly.

Where can I eat out in Born?

In Born, only the best ingredients make it to the plate

Producer-fresh products from the region and meat from ecological farming are available at the farm shop on the Adventure Farm Gut Darß. What is a must-see in Born?

A diverse offering of painting, music, and history

In addition to the Darßer Ort lighthouse at the northern tip of the Darß, there is also the Natureum, which provides information about the flora and fauna of the region. Here, you'll find a special exhibition on seals, where you can learn all about these mammals. The Natureum is open during the following times.

November to April: Wednesday to Sunday from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM

May, September, October: daily from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM

June to August: daily from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM

(As of November 2023) If you want to learn more about the formation and significance of the natural area, it's best to also visit the National Park Center Darßer Arche in the neighboring town of Wieck. Admission here costs 3.50 € per person. (As of November 2023) If your fascination leans more towards music, you can be swept away by the classical concerts in the Fisher's Church. Theater enthusiasts can also enjoy numerous events during the peak season as part of the Borner Summer Theater or the Darß Festival on the open-air stage. A visit to the galleries of the former artists' colony Ahrenshoop should also not be missed.
