Summer week at the holiday home Kluntjekaat

We arrived at the swimming lake at 10 in great summer weather and were warmly welcomed by our hosts. The holiday home is cozy and practically furnished, so we felt at home right away. The nearby swimming lake invited us to linger. We spent the evenings on the covered terrace.

Wonderful place for vacation

We have been to the holiday home "Noordlücht" for the umpteenth time. This vacation was perfect again - even the East Frisian weather left hardly any wishes unfulfilled. Small but meaningful adjustments have been made since the last visit, such as a lockable bike garage behind the house. This is designed for 3 bikes. In the bedroom on the upper floor, there is now also a TV. Especially during the ongoing football World Cup, this can be relaxing. The house and the location are ideal for explorations in the surrounding area or as a starting point for cycling tours. In the evenings, the nearby swimming lake offers a nice opportunity for a little digestive walk. We have definitely not been here for the last time on vacation!

Very beautiful and cozy house

We were again for a week in the beautiful house by Tannenhausener Lake.
We felt very comfortable with Helmut and Thea; right on the first day, the landlord comes and inquires if everything is alright. It’s nice that dogs are allowed, especially in Tannenhausen there are many paths that you can really enjoy walking. The house is equipped with everything you need; when it’s warm enough, you can sit outside and comfortably grill and spend lovely evenings. Elke Annika and Willi can recommend the house with a clear conscience. Thank you very much.

In and around Aurich, there are numerous raised bog areas: Kollrunger Moor, Brockzeteler Moor, Berumerfehner-Meerhusener Moor, and the Ewiges Meer Nature Reserve and its surroundings. The centerpiece is the Eternal Sea, the largest raised bog lake in Germany. Surrounding the city are numerous larger and smaller nature reserves and natural monuments. Make a detour to the Großsteingrab Tannenhausen. This is a 5,000-year-old megalithic tomb of the Funnel Beaker culture. Artifacts discovered during research, such as bowls, funnel beakers, shoulder vessels, collar bottles, and stone tools, are displayed in the Historical Museum. Admission for adults is €5, and for children only €2.50. It is open Tuesday to Sunday from 11 AM to 5 PM (as of November 2023). In Aurich itself, a tour through the city is worthwhile. Numerous buildings are under monument protection. Landmarks include the Lambertikirche and the small Pingelhus at the former harbor. Experience authentic Aurich at Drogerie Maaß. The drugstore has been family-owned since 1855, and stepping inside feels like traveling back centuries. A similarly quaint experience can be had at Aurich's oldest pub, "Zur ewigen Lampe."
