The apartment is located directly by the sea. In sunny weather, one can enjoy the day in their own beach chair. It takes about 15 minutes to walk to Neustadt, where you can have dinner in one of the restaurants. We also really liked the layout of the apartment. The nearest supermarket is about a 15-minute walk away. We are happy to recommend the apartment. However, those looking for an atmosphere like in Timmendorf will not find it here. It is quieter and more manageable.

What do you need to experience in Neustadt in Holstein?

Step Through the Time Gate into the Past

Neustadt in Holstein is rich in attractions both in the old town and in the surrounding area. The architecture is dominated by brick buildings like the brick Gothic town church (1244) with its noteworthy Gothic altar from Schleswig Cathedral. Other attractions in the town include the medieval Holy Spirit Hospital, the warehouses, and the likewise medieval Kremper Gate. There, you'll find the interactive and child-friendly "zeiTTor" local history museum with many exhibits about the history of the place and region. The "Cap Arcona" Museum within the local history museum is dedicated to the Cap Arcona disaster that occurred here towards the end of the war. The graves and memorial stones of the victims of the catastrophe are located at the historically interesting "Anstaltsfriedhof" and the "Ehrenfriedhof Cap Arcona." A particularly beautiful promenade is the "Neustädter Kunstkilometer." The footpath leads from the lower Jungfernstieg at the harbor past numerous contemporary artworks. A short walk or bike ride takes you to the modernly designed marina of Neustadt in Holstein. In such an atmospheric setting, it's great to dine in a nearby restaurant or watch the white yachts in the marina and dream. By the way, excursions on various little boats are possible! And in the summer, there's the atmospheric "Wednesday Regatta" into the sunset. Another excursion destination among the highlights is Eutin with its castle and diverse culinary offerings. Always worth a visit are not only the beautiful Lübeck but also Travemünde, where you must definitely visit the old "Passat," a four-masted barque.
