It went by too quickly!

Hello, Mr. and Mrs. Nebgen,
it is very unfortunate that the time in your cozy and beautiful apartment went by far too quickly.
We really enjoyed being your guests and can very well imagine spending New Year's Eve in your apartment.
Thank you very much for the lovely days in your dream sea view apartment!?
Until next time, stay healthy and best wishes from the Baltic Sea!

Again and again this holiday home

We were now for the 17th time in this beautiful bungalow and felt very comfortable again. The house has all the comforts and extensive interior. The garden is completely fenced. Our dog also loves it, it takes no more than 10 minutes and we are at the beach. We always like to come here again.

Which sights are there in the bay of Lübeck?

About the Sea, the Lake, and the Oceans

In Lübeck Bay, almost all attractions revolve around maritime themes. No wonder, as the tradition of the coast is highly valued here. Old harbor towns, lighthouses, and the nature of the coast are the highlights of the Hanseatic city of Lübeck and its surroundings. In a house by the water, you can enjoy the sea air and have the beach right at your doorstep. If it's too cold to swim in the Baltic Sea and on the beach, the Baltic Sea Thermal Bath between Scharbeutz and Timmendorfer Strand offers recreational fun for the whole family: with saltwater pools, sauna, water slide, and relaxation areas, there is something for everyone. This is relaxation and pure holiday enjoyment. Moreover, the SEA LIFE Aquarium in Timmendorfer Strand invites you to experience sea creatures from our rivers and seas up close. Children learn why it is so important to protect not only the Baltic Sea but also the oceans of our world. The Holstentor is also worth a visit, as it is considered a landmark of Lübeck.

What do you need to experience in the bay of Lübeck?

The Highlights Here are Sporty: Sailing, Cycling, and Swimming

In the Baltic resort of Rettin, the season begins with the annual sea bathing in April. Those who don't mind cold water will be rewarded with a very special experience on the Baltic beach. A relaxed apartment with a sauna is just the thing in this case. Make yourself comfortable in your cozy apartment after the refreshing bathing fun in the great outdoors. For cycling enthusiasts, the cycling week in May, which runs through Lübeck Bay, is an absolute highlight of the year. An accompanying program also provides holiday fun for less avid cyclists. There are workshops, group events, and expert talks where everyone is welcome. And then, of course, it gets maritime again with "cast off and ship ahoy!" The Hanseboot Ancora Boat Show is Germany's largest in-water boat show and takes place every year in Neustadt in Holstein. The place, with a five-star marina and three yacht harbors, is the most important sailing center in Schleswig-Holstein. Find modern apartments and houses nearby in the town of the marinas with Wi-Fi and everything that goes with it. Simply book a holiday accommodation or an apartment, for example in Pönitz, Sierksdorf, or Niendorf, with Wi-Fi and sea views, and enjoy a relaxing, varied holiday in the seaside resort tailored to your personal wishes in the seaside resort full of possibilities for excursion destinations and sunny, relaxed days on the sandy beach including a beach chair.

What can you experience in the bay of Lübeck with children?

Your Beach-Adjacent Apartment Directly on the Baltic Coast

Many holiday homes and apartments on the sandy beach in the seaside resort are family-friendly and suitable for a perfect beach holiday. In Timmendorfer Strand, the coast is just a stone's throw from your accommodation with a sea view. With your own car, you can easily reach other Baltic resorts in the region. Niendorf is right next door, and it's not far to the Baltic resort of Dahme and to Grömitz in the north or to the exciting city of Wismar in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. On the way there, a visit to the island of Poel is worthwhile. Here you can enjoy pure nature and cycle to the unspoiled beaches in Neuhof and Seedorf. From your apartment or holiday home in the east of Lübeck Bay, it is also just a short trip to the Baltic resort of Kühlungsborn. In the north of Lübeck Bay lies the island of Fehmarn. Here, the beach, sea, and plenty of nature await you. On Fehmarn, you will also find beach-adjacent apartments from private owners for your family holiday. Walks on the sandy beach, family-friendly excursion destinations, and beautiful Baltic Sea thermal baths make your trip perfect. Also, consider a trip to Kellenhusen or Pelzerhaken.

Where can I eat out in the bay of Lübeck?

Specialties from the Baltic Sea

The coastal regions on the Baltic Sea beach of Schleswig-Holstein and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania have plenty of culinary specialties to offer. Naturally, the cuisine of the Baltic Sea coast is fish-oriented: plaice, cod, Baltic herring, and the simple but delicious fish sandwich are the highlights of Lübeck Bay. From the inland waters, carp is served on the table – especially during Christmas time. Besides, you will find rutabaga stew or Königsberger Klopse, which are widespread along the entire Baltic coast. Another specialty, especially in Schleswig-Holstein, is Schnüsch or Schnüüsch, a stew made of green beans, peas, carrots, potatoes, and kohlrabi, all cooked in milk. If you like to cook in your own house or apartment, you will find an organic weekly market in Scharbeutz and Haffkrug. In the region, there are also numerous farms with farm shops, apiaries, country butchers, fish smokehouses, and other weekly markets in the Hanseatic city of Lübeck and in Travemünde. A tasting of the regional Lübeck marzipan specialties is also a must. Stroll through your holiday resort after a successful dinner or enjoy the sunset from the pier.

What is a must-see in the bay of Lübeck?

Music, Film, and Visual Arts

The Baltic Film Art Festival in Neustadt in Holstein is already a well-established institution in Lübeck Bay. You experience film culture as at the Berlinale with film screenings and stimulating accompanying programs – not just for cinephiles. Our tip: Book your holiday apartment or house from private owners early enough during the festival time. By the way, many accommodations also allow a holiday with a dog or pet. Last minute, many accommodations and houses are already booked up. The cultural estate Hasselburg attracts as a destination with a variety of cultural events. From classical concerts to jazz improvisations – you can enjoy music events of various styles against a historical backdrop. Outdoor concerts in the summer are a special experience. Discover visual arts on the Neustadt Art Kilometer – naturally in a maritime setting. Contemporary sculptures and installations along the extended harbor promenade Jungfernstieg invite you to stroll and marvel. The promenade leads you from the sea into the cozy old town center of Neustadt. The Karl May Games in Bad Segeberg attract thousands of visitors every year. Here, the whole family gets their money's worth. Be there when the great Winnetou takes the stage. Your children will love him. Even after so many years, the adventures of Winnetou and his blood brother Old Shatterhand continue to captivate everyone.

How do I come to Lübecker Bucht?

From All Over Germany to the Paradise of the Baltic Sea

You can reach the holiday homes and apartments on the Baltic Sea beach in the Lübeck Bay by train, bus, car, and even by plane. The most convenient and environmentally friendly way to travel is by train. The towns of Haffkrug, Scharbeutz, Neustadt in Holstein, and Sierksdorf have Deutsche Bahn train stations. Long-distance trains mostly run via Hamburg Central Station and from there to Lübeck. From there, regional trains will take you to your accommodation or apartment. Long-distance bus connections take you directly to the sea. Whether Travemünde, Grömitz, or Timmendorfer Strand, the diverse region is perfectly accessible by bus and quick and affordable to reach. Those who prefer to drive their own car to the seaside resort can take the A1 motorway directly to the holiday paradise. From southern Germany, the fastest route is via the A7 motorway, and from North Rhine-Westphalia, the A24 motorway to northern Germany. From there, it's again the A1 motorway that leads you close to your holiday home or apartment. Conveniently and quickly, if you are traveling from afar, you can also reach Lübeck Bay by plane. There is a small airport directly in Lübeck. From abroad, Hamburg Airport is the first stop. From there, it is only 80 kilometers to Lübeck Bay. Now rent a holiday accommodation or an apartment, for example in Pönitz, Sierksdorf, or Niendorf, with sea views directly on the sandy beach with a beach chair and experience unforgettable holidays in a place tailored to your personal wishes. Spend a journey full of relaxation and unwind from everyday stress!
