A small time travel and in the best location

We were five in the Godewind house. The reception was very warm! Flowers and treats everywhere, there was even wine upon arrival. The location is unique and the atmosphere in the house is simply wonderful. The house is a real gem!

Which sights are there in Sierksdorf?

A Colorful Array for Young and Old

Modern and cozy, the attractions and offerings in Sierksdorf follow suit. Take the whole family on a trip to Lübeck or take advantage of the fact that your vacation apartment is close to the beach. The European Hansemuseum vividly presents the history of the Hanseatic League through interactive exhibits. Open daily from 10 AM to 6 PM except on December 24th. Tickets for the permanent exhibition cost €14 for adults aged 18 and over. You can buy your tickets online here. Don't miss trying the famous Lübeck Marzipan before heading back to your holiday home with a sauna and sea view. Pure nature awaits you at the Nature Park Holstein Switzerland, which you can reach from your vacation apartment on the Baltic Sea in no time. Wander through forests and lakes, let your soul dangle, and enjoy a break with pets and children in one of the most beautiful regions of the state.

What do you need to experience in Sierksdorf?

Following the Footsteps of Great Painters and Happy Dogs!

The community of Sierksdorf offers many amenities that you can easily reach from your accommodation in Neustadt or the vacation apartment in the center. Enjoy cozy walks and hiking tours, passing by typical thatched-roof cottages and parks that have inspired great painters, during your holiday days in Schleswig-Holstein. An interesting excursion destination is the 10,000 square meter Historic School Forest, a forest for all senses. Additionally, there are several sections on the beach, not only in Sierksdorf, where your pet is warmly welcomed. You will often find a beach near your accommodation where dogs are allowed. It's nice to finally be able to vacation undisturbed with your four-legged friend. The Dog Beach Sierksdorf is located below the holiday park, so with a bit of luck, it's not far from your seaside accommodation. Below an ash path, your four-legged friend can discover the dog beach Pelzerhaken for themselves, but there are also other beach sections in Rettin, Schaarbeutz, Haffkrug, and Neustadt that are ideal for your furry companion. This seems to make the Baltic Sea holiday perfect. Everything is taken care of, whether building sandcastles, frolicking on the beach, visiting historic places, reading relaxedly, or being active. In Sierksdorf, you'll find plenty of options for a versatile vacation. Simply book an accommodation with a beach chair right on the beach according to your personal wishes. Spend a relaxing active holiday between attractions and steep coasts and explore the idyllic surroundings, communities, and cities in the Ostholstein district.

What can you experience in Sierksdorf with children?

Water Fun, Action, and Endless Fun for the Whole Family

The top destination for travelers with children to make a family-friendly holiday unforgettable is Germany's only amusement park by the sea. The Hansapark with its many attractions and roller coasters is close to the beach and very popular with both adults and children. The water slides alone are impressive even for the older ones and offer hours of water fun without end. The park reopens its gates in March 2024 (as of November 2023). A day ticket costs €49 for visitors aged 12 and over, and €39 for children aged 4-11. Things are much more relaxed in some corners of the Baltic Sea Therme in Scharbeutz. In the whirlpool, you can let your thoughts wander while the rest of the family discovers the secrets of the tropical landscape or explores the adventure pool. Spanning 14,000 square meters, there are water slides, a wellness oasis, and a sauna garden. Book your online ticket here conveniently. Afterwards, you can look forward to your cozy accommodation by the sea after a full day at the beach or in Hansapark. Also consider a trip to Haffkrug, Süsel, or Travemünde.

Where can I eat out in Sierksdorf?

Sweet or Savory?

In Sierksdorf and the surrounding area, you have the opportunity to buy fish directly from the cutter. The old cutters have a long history. Exciting and thrilling, buying fish directly from the cutter is especially fun for your child. Smoked fish or Rehbehn and Kruse are traditional specialties in Sierksdorf. Pair them with one of the fine spirits or a beer from the region. For hikes, Holstein ham and Lübeck marzipan are great for sustenance. Even if the apartment smells like fish afterward, it's all part of a perfect holiday stay on the Baltic Sea. So get out of the apartment and into the daily life of Sierksdorf. The residents of this quaint place will warmly welcome you and gladly tell you about their love for the Baltic Sea and the secrets of Lübeck Bay.

What is a must-see in Sierksdorf?

Invaluable Landscapes and Natural Beauties

During your stay in Sierksdorf on the beach, get to know the works of artists Karl Schmidt-Rottluff and Machemehl. A walk leads to their preferred spots for choosing motifs and ends in Schmidt-Rottluff's studio. In the House of the Guest, you will find a permanent exhibition about the artist Schmidt-Rottluff. Take a leisurely bike ride to experience the beautiful landscape of Schleswig-Holstein from a different perspective than just from the beach or your vacation apartment. The Museum of Regional History in Scharbeutz provides information about the history and displays interesting exhibits from Schleswig-Holstein. Admission is free and based on voluntary donations. The museum is open during the following hours: • Tue: 3-6 PM • Sun: 2-5 PM From your apartment at the Lübeck Bay, you can reach many places that have their own unique charm. Let a bike tour inspire you and discover the most beautiful corners of Lübeck Bay on your own. Some of the artists' paintings are also hidden in your vacation apartment. Pay attention during a tour of your holiday home, as the residents of Sierksdorf highly appreciate art-interested guests. Spend unforgettable holidays in the region!
