Very nice holiday apartment close to the beach. Great view from the balcony to the pier. You can reach the sea in just a few steps. Sauna in the house, we unfortunately did not use it, but we thought it was great. The contact with the landlord was good and problem-free. Thank you very much.

Other attractions in the districts of Sellin are also accessible from here. We recommend the harbor of Seedorf, the mill in Altensien, or the megalithic tombs in Lancken-Granitz. The Schwarze See is located in the forest and nature reserve Granitz and covers an area of 23 hectares. The lake, the surrounding moors, and the adjacent forest are designated as a total reserve. A hiking trail from Binz to Sellin leads directly there. The Jasmund National Park is located on the Jasmund peninsula in the northeast of the island of Rügen. It covers 3,003 hectares, making it Germany's smallest national park. The impressive resort architecture throughout the Baltic Sea region is also a famous attraction. This can be particularly admired along Wilhelmstraße, where you will also find the diving gondola, allowing you to admire the beauty of the sea.

The fine sandy beach in the seaside resort here remains memorable. Those who come early in the morning can even watch the local fishermen at work and perhaps take a fish or two for dinner. A popular excursion destination is the 43-meter-high Cape Arkona. A chalk and boulder clay cliff on the Wittow peninsula in the north of Rügen. Cliffs are excellent for walks with a view of the sea. Also, visit the bathing bays and the South Beach in the southeast of the island. The area monument, along with the fishing village of Vitt, belongs to the municipality of Putgarten and attracts around 800,000 visitors annually. At the cape, you will find a range tower, restaurants, bars, souvenir shops, two lighthouses, two military bunkers, and the Slavic Jaromarsburg. Known as the "Racing Roland," the route from Putbus via Binz, Sellin, Baabe to Göhren is served by a narrow-gauge railway covering a distance of 24.1 kilometers. Steam locomotives, some of which are almost 100 years old, operate on this line. A top excursion destination and a highlight of the entire island. The rower has to cover only 40 meters from Moritzdorf to Baabe. The boat fits 15 people. The 24 rowing strokes are therefore associated with a considerable effort. What is a must-see in Sellin?

Museums with tradition, art with modernity

The Störtebeker Festival has been held since 1993 (from the end of June to the beginning of September) in Ralswiek. The festival and its individual events are considered Germany's most successful open-air theater and are a must-see in Rügen and the region. In Sellin, there is an amber museum. A master goldsmith has set up the amber museum in the center of the community next to an amber specialty shop with a workshop. Another impressive museum can be found in Middelhagen: the old school museum. It was built in 1825 as a parsonage. Today, visitors can experience how education was conducted at that time. The Hartwich Gallery in Sellin has become a scene meeting point for artists. In the beautiful brick building, Knut Hartwich exhibits contemporary art from various fields. How do I come to Sellin?

Direct to the apartment, straight into vacation

The island paradise of Sellin is located east of a longer coastal forest (Granitz) connecting to the Mönchgut peninsula on the island of Rügen. Sellin is situated by both the Baltic Sea and Lake Sellin, which is connected on the west side of Mönchgut to the Greifswalder Bodden. Along with Binz and Göhren, Sellin is one of the most significant seaside resorts in the region. You can reach your holiday destination by car from Hamburg via the A20, A24, or A19 highways, or via the B105 federal road. From Berlin (or further south), you can arrive via the A19, B105, or B96. Sellin also has a stop for long-distance buses. Since May 2017, Germania has offered direct flights from Zurich and Vienna to Rostock-Laage. There is a shuttle service to Rügen and thus to Sellin, taking you directly to your vacation apartment or holiday home with its own sauna. The train station in Binz is only about ten kilometers away, with daily IC connections from various major cities.
