Beautiful accommodation to feel good ?

A very clean, tidy, and cozy accommodation with a beautiful garden. Perfect for anyone seeking peace. Dogs are also warmly welcomed, and something was even prepared for them. The hostess is incredibly kind and helpful. My forgotten hat will even be sent to me. Thank you very much for that! Absolute recommendation ?

Beautiful, large, and bright vacation apartment

The apartment is large, bright, beautifully furnished, and well-equipped. We felt comfortable right away. The location on the mountain is great :) Wonderful to sit comfortably on the balcony after hikes/excursions and enjoy the view of Sebnitz and the surrounding area! Ideal starting point to explore the Saxon Switzerland without a car, as there is a good (even free with guest card) connection to public transport. Very nice hosts. We had a wonderful vacation and will recommend the accommodation further.

Super short vacation

It was a super short vacation in a very beautiful holiday home. Everything was available from bed linen to firewood and dishwasher tabs. Sufficient space for four people. Location directly by the forest with hiking trails. We were 4 people there for three nights. Day trips to the mine and to Fichtelberg and in the evening to the sauna. It was a very successful short vacation.

Thank you

Which sights are there in Saxony?

Between Country and City: Saxony's Overwhelming Variety of Attractions

Dresden is a true treasure trove of high-caliber historical attractions and world-famous museums. Its most popular sights include the Dresden Zwinger, the Frauenkirche, and the Green Vault. But don't miss visiting one of Dresden's world-famous museums, such as the German Hygiene Museum and the Old Masters Picture Gallery. The romantic view of the Elbe from the Brühl's Terrace is one of the city's most photographed scenes. Leipzig, on the other hand, is famous for its Gewandhaus Orchestra, the Leipzig Opera House, and the Leipzig Fair as a city of music and books. The Nikolaikirche, with its "Monday Demonstrations," was the starting point for the peaceful revolution in the GDR. In Leipzig, you will find some of the oldest universities and the oldest coffee house in Germany. Take a trip to the magnificent Elbe Sandstone Mountains and the Saxon Switzerland National Park and discover wonderfully bizarre sandstone formations together with your dog and family. Bad Schandau is located in the Saxon Switzerland-Eastern Ore Mountains district on the Elbe and offers tired hikers relaxation in the well-maintained park and lake, the old spa house, and the Toskana Therme with classic Kneipp treatments. Another worthwhile excursion destination is Bad Elster. Located on the beautiful White Elster in the Vogtland, this spa town is one of Germany's oldest mineral and moor spas.

What do you need to experience in Saxony?

Where Saxony is Most Beautiful

Saxony is a land full of highlights. At the top of the list is the Fürst-Pückler-Park in Bad Muskau in the Upper Lusatia region, which is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. With its 830 hectares of total area and numerous historical facilities and castles, it is the largest and most significant park in Central Europe. The extraordinary park extends as a total work of art, with about 30% on the German border side, while the remaining 70% belongs to Poland and is connected by numerous bridges over the Neisse. Do not miss the dreamy Baroque Moritzburg Castle west of Dresden, which majestically and idyllically sits on an artificial island in the middle of a lake. Also, visit the picturesque Meißen, famous since 1708 for its porcelain manufactured in factories. Stroll through the noteworthy old town with its towering castle and discover one or another beautiful piece of porcelain. A highlight for the whole family and a beautiful destination for hikes with your dog is the romantically situated, medieval Kriebstein Castle. Built in the 14th century, the castle clings to a rocky spur surrounded on three sides by the Zschopau River. The intact castle core with a residential tower – in which a treasure was found – and a late medieval church in the center often serves as a picturesque film set, e.g., for the four-time Oscar-winning film "Grand Budapest Hotel".

What can you experience in Saxony with children?

Hiking with Dogs and Exploring with Children

Those who want to vacation with a dog in Saxony will find it perfectly suitable in dog-friendly Saxony. Relaxing for both humans and canines are hikes along the Elbe or among the bizarre-looking rock formations in the Saxon Switzerland. Here, you are guaranteed to find attractively located and simultaneously dog-friendly vacation apartments or holiday homes with top facilities. If you want to spend a vacation with your family, numerous family-friendly houses and vacation apartments are available in the Erzgebirge, Upper Lusatia, or one of the exciting major cities in Saxony. Family-friendly facilities in the spacious vacation apartments or holiday homes, often including a sauna, make the stay more enjoyable for adults. Unrestricted fun for children is provided by child-friendly museums in Saxony's cities, botanical gardens, holiday homes by a lake or near a castle, bike tours, and animal and riding farms. Look out for last-minute offers that will make your vacation perfect. Offer your family something special and cycle from one accommodation to the next on the magnificent Oder-Neisse Cycle Path, which follows the German-Polish eastern border for about 630 km to the source of the Neisse in the Czech Republic.

Where can I eat out in Saxony?

Saxony's Culinary Richness

The cultural region of Saxony has preserved a large array of traditional dishes. Influences from Poland, the Czech Republic, and Bavaria make Saxon cuisine one of the most versatile in Germany. The formerly impoverished Erzgebirge produced simple potato and bread soups with a "shot" of linseed oil. Wealthy cities like Leipzig, Dresden, and Meißen, as well as the special region of Upper Lusatia-Lower Silesia, have created dishes that demonstrate great culinary ingenuity. Dumplings prepared in a hundred different ways are a must in Saxony. Be sure to try the "Leipziger Allerlei," a vegetable stew with crayfish, crayfish butter, and - of course - bread dumplings. "Gose," a top-fermented beer, is typically drunk with it. As a digestive aid after the "Saxon Sunday roast," Bärenklau schnapps is recommended. A sweet temptation to finish is the "Leipziger Lerche." Originally a pie made from songbirds, it has been exclusively made from a delicious marzipan paste in puff pastry since the ban in the 19th century. If you want to cook all the specialties in your holiday home or vacation apartment, then visit one of the many idyllically located excursion restaurants and venerable cafes that offer culinary specialties of the region like the delicious "Leipziger Räbchen" made from marzipan and prunes.

What is a must-see in Saxony?

Saxony, the Land of a Thousand Opportunities

Renting a vacation apartment or private holiday home in the Zittau Mountains, the Erzgebirge, or the Saxon Elbland offers you an enormous selection of art, culture, and magnificent nature right outside your doorstep. Old churches, castles, and fortresses amidst beautiful parks are often venues for cultural events that the whole family will enjoy. Every month of the year, Saxony offers numerous new exhibitions and cultural events in abundance. March features the Leipzig Book Fair. April attracts with the German-Polish Literature Days in Görlitz and the International Film Festival in Dresden. May boasts the Richard Wagner Festival Days in Leipzig, and if you own a vintage convertible, you can participate in the Convertible Rally Saxony in Dresden, but watching is also a lot of fun.
