Description
Behind the building shell of a barn used as a coach house and storehouse, which was renovated according to historical models, 3 separate holiday flats in maisonette style were designed as a new interior design. They each start on the 1st floor and reach up into the roof area, which is traversed by the original beams that have been left visible. There is a choice of two differently designed flat types
Type I (Whg 1 and Whg 2) has a living space of 95 m² each
The living room with L-shaped kitchen, a large bathroom (bathtub, shower, WC) and bedroom for 2 persons are located in the lower part. A wooden staircase leads to the upper area with a double bedroom and another toilet. The gallery opens the view down into the living/kitchen area. Both flats differ only in the concept of the bedrooms: Whg 1 has 1 double bedroom (upstairs) and 1 double bedroom (downstairs), Whg 2 has 1 double bedroom (upstairs) and 2 single bedrooms (downstairs).
Type II (Whg 3) has a living area of 105 m². In the lower part there is the generously designed living/kitchen area, furthermore all 3 bedrooms (2 double-bed rooms, 1 twin-bed room), a large bathroom (bathtub, shower, double washbasin, WC) as well as a small storage room for luggage. A wooden staircase leads from the living area to the gallery area which can be used for sitting, watching TV and playing games, furnished with corner sofa, 55-inch smart TV, desk and play corner (preferred for children).
The two Type I flats are each for up to 4 people, the larger Type II flat for up to 6 people. The double bedrooms are all sufficiently spacious so that a travel cot (toddler) can be added if required.
The design concept emphasises a high level of living comfort while taking eco-logical aspects into account: all rooms (including bathrooms and WC) with windows, large beds with good lying qualities (180 x 200 cm, 90 x 200 cm), bathrooms with heated towel rail, kitchen area with separate exhaust air, induction hob fourfold, kitchen top made of coloured granite, underfloor heating (operated with geothermal energy), additional fireplace cooker clad in soapstone, LED ceiling lighting throughout, smart TV, internet access with fast 50 Mbit/s data line more.
Furthermore, the holiday home has a lockable room on the ground floor for storing prams, bicycles, winter sports equipment and the like.

Location and surroundings of object
The three-sided farm with the (30 x 10) m holiday home on a plot of 9000 m² still breathes the character of the typical rural settlement form as it developed in clearing areas at the time of the first settlement: the forest hoof village, where the farmstead with the buildings was built directly on the village road with the watercourse, followed by the meadow and arable land behind it and the adjacent forest. All this on a strip of land, the so-called Hufe.
The holiday property is easily accessible via the quiet village road. There are parking spaces for vehicles on the farm. We are happy to pick up train travellers from Zittau station
Your holiday home is located halfway between the district town of Zittau (3 km) and the Zittau Mountains (5 km) and within walking distance of the Olbersdorfer See lake with bathing facilities. It is therefore a suitable starting point for explorations for holidaymakers with a wide range of interests. Zittau, which is over 750 years old, offers cultural treasures: unique in Germany are the two lenten cloths, interesting is the largely preserved historic town centre and the ring design around the town centre as a green belt with representative buildings. In the Zittau Mountains with the widely known places of Oybin, Jonsdorf, Waltersdorf and Lückendorf, hikers and cyclists of all ages will find ideal conditions for a well-balanced holiday. Other special features also include an adventure trip on the narrow-gauge railway from Zittau via Olbersdorf into the mountains, which went into operation in 1890, the Upper Lusatian half-timbered houses from the century that are unique in Europe, and excursions to the Czech Republic and Poland.

We were here for a short vacation with two families and had the large and a small vacation apartment. Everything was very clean, wonderfully furnished. Super nice, hassle-free, helpful contact.
Good starting point for hikes and 10-15 min walk to shopping. Close to the lake and near Zittau. 10-15 min to the narrow-gauge railway, and only 3-5 min to the bus. What more could you want...
We are definitely looking forward to coming back and will definitely recommend it.
Thank you very much for the hospitality that was felt by all of us.

Family short break
We were 9 adults occupying 2 flats and are very enthusiastic about this domicile and the owners from booking to departure!
We were able to cook, eat and spend time together in the large flat.
There was still enough space not to get on each other's nerves.
Everything is in a very attractive and successful condition! Notorious complainers will have to search long and hard to find less points.

Holiday in a three-sided farm --- Upper Lusatia very close...
Holiday with 4 adults at the Olbersdorfer See. We stayed in apartment no. 2 on the first floor - view of the courtyard. The location could not be better, currently a dead end due to a construction site, but also otherwise little traffic as a relief road runs further away. With a lot of effort, a three-sided farm was restored here. Two buildings are finished, one is still to come. In the main entrance of the converted old barn you can easily park your bicycles, the stairs to the upper floor are wide. The flat is ideally divided and allows you to experience the roof beams over 2 floors. 2 bathrooms / WC and shower bath are large and both have windows. There are mosquito screens everywhere, which makes sense in summer - so open windows no problem. Despite hot outside temperatures it was pleasant in the flat. Kitchen has everything necessary, TV and sound system also on board. Great wooden floor and thus 1a living climate. The apartment is an ideal starting point for hikes and mountain bike tours in the Zittau Mountains. The ZOJE funicular passes within sight of the house. The stop to Zittau or Oybin / Jonsdorf is a 7-minute walk away. Cycle paths start behind the house in all directions. Garden can be used, large area. Zittau can be reached by bike, bus, train or on foot. The highlight is still the sunrise at Lake O or early in the morning on the Töpfer with the MTB - with an indescribable view of Lake O, Zittau and the entire Lusatian Basin
The host is unassuming, but always present. The handling is uncomplicated, very friendly and thus simply positively recommendable all around - for families, hiking and adventure holidays.
