Apartment in Brixen near Ski Lift

Brixen im Thale

Great location on the main street, little bit noisy (but not much) in the morning if windows are open. Very cosy appartment with great balcony seating. Not very big but nice rooms. Well equipped kitchen, only some little spoons were missing for 9 persons. Comfortable parking for 2 cars. Thank you for all!

Apartment in Brixen near SkiWelt Lift

Brixen im Thale

The apartment was fine in itself and largely met expectations. However, there are a few points that deserve some attention. The sofa clearly needs replacing and the beds are on the small side for taller people. For those looking for a quiet location, this apartment may be less suitable. Although silence is requested after 10:00 PM and large groups are not allowed, there was regular noise disturbance. Especially at night, there were regularly groups of young people outside who made quite a lot of noise. Unfortunately, this also occurred with larger families. As a result, it was not always easy to enjoy the peace in the evenings and at night. Additionally, the apartment is located on a fairly busy road, which also causes a lot of noise. All in all, the apartment was fine, but due to the noise disturbance and the busy location, we would mainly recommend this accommodation to people who place less value on absolute peace.

The small cemetery chapel west of the parish church also dates from this time. A slightly longer walk leads to the pilgrimage church Hohe Salve (Patrozinium John the Baptist). The single-nave small church is the highest pilgrimage church in the country. Other churches and chapels in Brixental are the Jager Chapel from 1880, the Weidach or Walter Chapel from 1779, and the Hofer Chapel, also built around 1880. For an unforgettable view, take the Hochbrixen cable car. Simply rent a house, apartment, or cozy apartment with a garden, parking space, and according to your personal wishes and explore the village and surroundings with your family. What can you experience in Brixen im Thale with children?

Practice early if you want to become a ski master

The Brixental is surrounded by the Kitzbühel Alps. Here you will find one of the largest interconnected ski areas in the world – the SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser-Brixental. Are you looking for a ski area of superlatives? Then you've come to the right place. Almost 300 kilometers of slopes are groomed daily, accessible via nine entrances. Around you, a panorama of 70 peaks rises more than 3,000 meters into the sky. A quick check of the equipment and off you go on the slopes. Here, children, beginners, extreme sports enthusiasts, and connoisseurs get their money's worth. There are special experience slopes, illuminated toboggan runs, fun parks, and Austria's largest night skiing area with illuminated slopes. In summer, the surroundings of your accommodation or holiday home or apartment in Brixen im Thale offer more than 700 kilometers of marked hiking trails. The region is perfect for a stay or a holiday with a dog. Special circular and high-altitude hiking trails offer breathtaking views of the surrounding three-thousand-meter peaks. Many hiking trails are accessible by cable car or offer the possibility to comfortably return to the valley or back to the village to your holiday accommodation, house, or apartment after the hike with the family. Also, visit the nearby Ellmau, Westendorf, or Scheffau am Wilden Kaiser.

Where can I eat out in Brixen im Thale?

Feasting at mountain and alpine huts

In Tyrol, people love to eat well. At the mountain and alpine huts, you can enjoy traditional Tyrolean cuisine in a traditional atmosphere. The huts are perfect for a stopover to recharge after a hike. The Brettljausen – cheese and sausage specialties, bacon, ham, pickles, and eggs served with fresh farmhouse bread on a wooden board – satisfy small to large hunger in between. Pork ribs with horseradish and mustard are also popular on a wooden board. From the lakes and rivers come trout, pike-perch, pike, carp, and tench. In addition, the popular Schlutz or Schlipfkrapfen, a kind of ravioli with potato filling – Patati or Erdäpfel are the potatoes in Tyrol – can be found on the menus of inns and huts. In autumn, it's time for hearty game specialties and mushrooms from the surrounding forests. Although Austria is a major wine nation, beer is preferred with meals in Tyrol. However, inns that value themselves have a good wine list with wines from Burgenland, Lower Austria, and Styria as well as from South Tyrol in northern Italy. Try the fresh Grüner Veltliner in summer and a red Zweigelt by the fireplace in winter.
