Very pleasant and complete!

It is really wonderfully spacious, super clean, and very complete! The view is beautiful and the family is very friendly, helpful, and hospitable. For children, there is plenty of entertainment such as several swings and a table tennis table.
In short, we look back on a great, beautiful, and pleasant vacation in Wildholzhof! We recommend this wonderful place to everyone!

Nice holiday home with a very beautiful view

What a nice house in a beautiful area and in a quiet location! The house is equipped with all conveniences; everything has been thought of. There are many games and toys available. We made a lot of use of the pool table in the basement. It is a spacious house with sufficient parking. The contact with the owners was also very pleasant and friendly. We felt welcome and at ease right away. The house is very centrally located for various activities in the area.
Really a recommendation!

What do you need to experience in Mittersill?

Historical tour of Mittersill

Due to its strategic location, Mittersill was probably already settled during Roman times, and certainly since the Middle Ages. Some historical sights can be explored on foot from your holiday home in Mittersill. The 13th-century parish church of St. Leonhard, with its Baroque onion dome, is located in the centre of Mittersill. Mittersill has had market privileges since 1403. In the Felbern district, the 900-year-old Felberturm houses the Mittersill Local History Museum, featuring an exhibition on the cultural history of the region and alpinism. The Hohe Tauern National Park Information Centre "Nationalparkwelten", one of the most modern national park centres in Europe, provides information about the mountain world. In the northeast of the municipality stands Mittersill Castle. This hilltop castle dates back to the 16th century and was built to control the strategically important transalpine pass roads to Tyrol. Today, the castle houses a 4-star hotel. Book your holiday accommodation with a sauna, a house, or an apartment now and experience a holiday full of hiking or skiing in one of Austria's most beautiful regions. The region is also perfect for leisurely active holidaymakers or mountain bikers, with the Tauern Cycle Path offering a great experience. Numerous golf courses and more variety await you in the holiday region.

The region between Mittersill, Hollersbach, and Stuhlfelden is a true hiking paradise in summer and offers extensive skiing fun in winter. Many kilometres of hiking and cycling trails criss-cross the Hohe Tauern National Park and the Kitzbühel Alps. Around you, the 3,000-metre peaks reach for the sky. The reservoirs in Kaprun and the Krimml Waterfalls are just two of the many natural sights and hiking destinations. Whether it's real mountain hiking, alpine climbing, or a relaxed holiday with a pet or dog in Mittersill – there's something for every type of holidaymaker. The region also offers horse-drawn sleigh and carriage rides, hang gliding, shooting sports, and golf on an 18-hole course. In winter, over 180 kilometres of groomed slopes, a snow park, off-piste routes, and toboggan runs await. The three-cable circulating gondola takes you up the mountain at a height of 400 metres. The National Park Worlds bring the unique alpine experience around Austria's highest peak (Grossglockner, 3,798m) and another 266 three-thousanders, over 342 glaciers, and one of the most powerful waterfalls in the world under one roof. An experience for young and old! Take a trip to Zell am See, Pass Thurn, the Krimml Waterfalls, or hike through Upper Pinzgau with children and dogs.

Where can I eat out in Mittersill?

From noodles and dumplings – The cuisine of the Salzburg region

Noodles (Nocken) and dumplings are ubiquitous dishes in the Salzburg region. You'll find them on the menus of upscale restaurants as well as mountain huts. In summer, sweet variations with pears, apples, berries, or plums are popular. Salzburger Nockerln (with powdered sugar, egg yolk, flour, and lemon zest) come golden brown from the oven. Kasnocken taste similar to Spätzle and are mixed with Pinzgauer cheese. This cheese is also used in Kaspressknödel, made from flour, water, and egg. They taste excellent as a soup garnish or fried in lard as a main course with sauerkraut. The crowning glory of desserts is Kaiserschmarrn, which Emperor Franz Joseph brought to the court from his hunting trips. The many rivers and lakes in the region provide excellent trout, carp, and crayfish, which can be found in many dishes. The favourite drink to accompany meals is a cool beer from one of the local breweries. A specialty from Salzburg is beer meat. Wine lovers should try Grüner Veltliner, a sparkling and fruity white wine. In winter, the red Zweigelt warms the soul.
