The biggest attraction of the Pillersee Valley is the 30-meter-high walk-in summit cross on the Buchensteinwand. The Jakobskreuz offers four viewing platforms at 19 meters high, which can be reached via an elevator. Hiking and biking trails, as well as a chairlift, take you up to the cross. Within walking distance of your holiday home in St. Ulrich am Pillersee, there are two impressive churches. The baroque Parish Church of St. Ulrich with the rectory dates back to the 12th century. The hall itself is from the early 15th century. The originally Romanesque and later Gothic church was later transformed into the Baroque style, then Neo-Gothic, and in the 1960s became Baroque again – even churches are subject to trends. Another church is located in the hamlet of Adolari at the northern end of the lake. Frescoes from the 14th century can be admired in the choir of the small church. A unique attraction in St. Ulrich is the world's oldest pine oil distillery, where about one liter of the healing oil is produced from approximately 250 kg of pine needles, cones, and branch tips. The distillery can be visited in the summer months.

In the winter months, three large ski areas in the region provide endless fun on the slopes – Pillersee/Buchensteinwand ski resort in the village and the Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn and Waidring-Steinplatte ski resorts.
