Nice place overall, clean and spacious. The sauna was a nice addition after a day of skiing. The only thing was that the check-in time seemed a bit tight, but the hosts were friendly and helpful. I also enjoyed the private garden, perfect for morning coffee.

A footpath leads up the mountain to the Salzbergbahn and the Rudolfsturm, from where you can enjoy a breathtaking view over the roofs of Hallstatt and the lake. There is also the Hallstatt burial ground and the salt mine. For further reading, we recommend Christoph Ransmayr's "Die Totengräber von Hallstatt". Bad Goisern is a sporty destination. The town has established itself as a popular destination for active summer and winter holidays. Mountain bikers and hikers will find plenty to do here, as well as tobogganists and cross-country skiers. The Salzkammergut Mountainbike Trophy proves this. Austria's largest mountain bike event attracts over 4,000 bikers from more than 30 countries every year.
