Description

The spacious country house in a dreamlike beach location offers a wonderful panoramic view over the Lübeck bay of the Baltic Sea and over the beaches of the adjacent coastal villages Haffkrug, Scharbeutz, Timmendorfer Strand, Niendorf and Travemünde. Sailboats often adorn the water on weekends. On the horizon, larger ships pass between the port of Travemünde and the Nordic countries of Sweden, Finland, Norway and Denmark.

Built in 1915 in the Swedish style and restored in 2002 while largely preserving its originality, it is a pleasant place to live. Enjoy the peace and charm of the house in the mild scent of the reed, relax in the spacious garden, in your bathing suit with a few steps to the beach and for a cool drink back in no time.

The view out of the window is also unforgettable when the sun rises from the glittering waves in the morning or the big orange-red moon emerges from the dark sea in the evening.

Built in 1915, Haus Godewind is furnished in Art Nouveau style, most of which is typical of the period. The exclusive and comfortable furnishing, the multitude of rooms, the large garden and the direct location to the beach is all you can desire. The numerous rooms (1-2 living rooms, dining room, large eat-in kitchen, veranda, terrace) allow you to relax and enjoy your holiday, 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and 1 guest toilet offer generous space for 6 adults.
In the large garden with flowerbeds and old trees, everyone will find a pleasant spot, either in the warming sun or in the cool shade, in a refreshing breeze or rather calm.
The complete fencing of the property allows also smaller children to play carefree.

Again and again you can see wild rabbits hopping over the lawn, living in the adjoining hedges and bushes. The large garden with old trees and plants and the outbuildings next to the house are home to barn swallows and martins as well as numerous other bird species.

On both sides of the property, the many kilometers of bright, fine sandy beach in Lübeck Bay invites you to swim, relax in the wicker beach chair, go for long walks on the beach or enjoy water sports. On the beach promenade you can go for walks or bike tours to Travemünde. There are also numerous restaurants and shopping opportunities here; the further south, the more lively the hustle and bustle. The Hansapark at the other end of Sierksdorf offers a lot of fun and excitement for the more adventurous.

Bright yellow rape fields in spring, varied beach life in summer, storms and turbulent sea in autumn and the tranquillity and sparkling sea air in winter offer a relaxing holiday at any time of the year.

Location and surroundings of object

Surroundings: The central location of Sierksdorf on the fine sandy beach of the Baltic Sea, on the banks of the Holstein Switzerland Nature Park and between many romantic small ( Eutin, Neustadt, Travemünde) and attractive large cities ( Lübeck, Hamburg, Kiel) allows you to make your holiday relaxing and varied. Adventure pools can be found in Scharbeutz (Ostseetherme) and on Weissenhäuser Strand (subtropical bathing paradise). The Hansa-Park Sierksdorf offers many attractions. Visits to the Sealife Centre in Timmendorf and the Bird Park in Niendorf are worthwhile. The museum courtyard in Lensahn will teach you about historical rural life. Interested holidaymakers can visit a large number of museums, galleries, historic manor houses and historical castles. Numerous handicraft markets and glass-blowing workshops can be visited. With a rented bicycle you can do various excursions into the charming surroundings. (renting possibilities on the beach).

The hilly countryside is rich in long avenues between extensive fields (especially beautiful during the rape blossom!) and woodlands, in between there are magnificent estates again and again. "Holstein Switzerland" with its many lakes offers countless excursion possibilities ( Eutin with its castle park, Plön Lake District, etc.). A visit to Lübeck should be on your schedule.

For the adventurous: From the Haffkrug pier (5 minutes on foot) and from the surrounding harbours, boat trips along the coastal towns or day trips are possible, which extend as far as the neighbouring Scandinavian country. Boat trips on one of the numerous lakes ( Plöner Seenplatte) are also possible. A sightseeing flight from the small airfield Sierksdorf / Hof Altona offers you a wide view over the charming East Holstein and the adjacent coast. Deep sea fishing is possible from Neustadt, Niendorf and other ports. Several sailing schools can be found in the surrounding villages, some of which also offer dinghies for hire. Water ski fans will find a cableway on the lake in Süsel. Ship enthusiasts are recommended to visit the four-masted sailing ship 'Passat' on the Privall in Travemünde or a submarine tour in Laboe (Kiel).

Cultural and other highlights: Spring begins with the jazz festival in Plön am See from Ascension Day to Sunday. In the last full week of June, Kiel Week is the world's most important sailing event with a windjammer parade. In July and August, the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival takes place throughout the state and at about the same time the Eutin Summer Games take place in the palace garden of Rosenstadt. The Karl May Games in Bad Segeberg can be visited throughout the summer. The musical metropolis of Hamburg offers a colourful cultural programme.

Mr. S. Haag

I grew up in the south of Germany and was more familiar to the Black Forest, the Alps and Mediterranean countries before discovering the North. Surprisingly, it was also good here, the summers are not so oppressively hot and the winters milder. And, on the top of this, a good breeze of wind in your nose. This is the place to live! What do I like most about this place?: The sea and the sky with their ever-changing colours and aspects unwinding before your eyes. The scent of the sea in your nose. A good breeze of wind in your face. The sound of the waves, the chirping of the numerous birds and the silence in your ear. The mild smell of reed. The soothing journey back to the time of the house built in 1915 and largely preserved in its original state. The wonderfully refreshing coolness of the house, built of wood, reed and peat, in the baking heat outside. The cosy warmth of the tiled stove and peat-filled walls in the cold season. The warm sunny and cool shady places of the large garden.
