Our North Sea Holiday Home

Barrier-free dream house!

Our family was in this beautiful holiday home for two weeks in August. I am physically impaired myself and was really very positively surprised. The side ramp to the front door, the wide doors, the electronic slatted frame, the walk-in shower, the accessible sink, the folding mirror, the grab bar at the toilet, and the provided shower chair as well as the suction grab bar helped me a lot and made life on vacation easier. For our children, it was also incredible how many big and small surprises were waiting for them in the house and in the garage. From my wife's perspective, the kitchen's equipment was unexpectedly generous, and nothing was missing. For me, as a physically impaired person, the beachside environment is also highly recommended. Several accessible toilet facilities and barrier-free wooden walkways to the water made the vacation even more carefree. The contact with the landlord couple was also more than pleasant. I could list so many other positive things, but I also want to give the other interested parties the opportunity to make their own experiences. Now we come to the only point of criticism. The holiday home is so well equipped that our children still want to buy that one game console (from the dream room) today :-) I can only recommend the holiday home, the landlords, and the surroundings. A very loving thank you from my family and me! !

Hüsken on the dyke

We have already booked and occupied the Hüsken three times, which clearly shows that the accommodation meets our fullest satisfaction; it is ideal for an older couple traveling alone like us - there is of course also a small separate room for a child. As the name suggests, it is a small apartment. But who goes to the North Sea to spend the day in the house? In bad weather, the large, bright winter garden offers a pleasant place to stay; breakfast is also served here or in the adjacent garden, which is not visible from any side; in the cozy "living room," the television shortens the long nights. Until sunset, one can still read a book or newspaper in the large front yard or on a bench. Since the little house is located on the outskirts of the village, there is an unobstructed view of the open landscape and the sunset from the front door and the front yard. This feature is almost unique in Horumersiel/Schillig. We have been vacationing in the two places for over thirty years in various accommodations - surprisingly, although the little house is directly on the access road to the beach - it is heavenly quiet here. One does not hear the traffic, as the large bedroom is built facing east. It is also very quiet here, apart from the fact that from 9 o'clock, life naturally awakens and lawns are mowed or dogs are walked. In this respect, we would highly recommend the little house. However, there is then the danger that everyone will want to book it and we will have no space left. Therefore, it is difficult for me to reveal the insider tip of the quiet island behind the dike here.

Hospitality at the highest level

We had a really great stay! The landlady is just incredibly friendly and warm. No matter what it was about – you could approach her at any time, and she took care of it immediately. If something was missing, it was organized in no time. The equipment of the accommodation is excellent and leaves nothing to be desired. We were particularly impressed that personal suggestions and wishes were taken seriously and are even to be implemented for the next visit. Such commitment and hospitality are rarely experienced. Thank you very much for the great time – we would love to come back and can wholeheartedly recommend the accommodation!
