The "at home" house :-)

Dear Kraus Family!

Here comes the promised and well-deserved review, which I am very happy to write for you.

As almost everything has already been written in the many excellent reviews, both about the complete, high-quality, and thoughtful equipment as well as the many useful little things, as well as the exceptionally beautiful location and the spaciousness of the beautiful house. I would like to add the following: we have always been "vacation home vacationers" and can no longer count how many vacation homes we have stayed in overall. We have always looked forward to the variety of a new house. Well, from now on we would actually only like to stay in one house, namely yours :-)

And this is not only because this house is on a level that the majority of all vacation homes we know will never reach. The vacation begins "in spirit" already with the first phone call with you, because your friendly and sympathetic manner immediately invites one in. The moment you finally enter the house, you immediately feel completely at home, the usual "settling in" just doesn't apply :-)

At this point, I also don't want to leave out mentioning the good work of your "Housekeeper"; the house was not only so clean that you could "eat off the floor", it has also been thoroughly disinfected in these times. . . Thank you, Mrs. B! After the vacation, we missed the incredibly relaxing view from the terrace the most. It's so captivating that I didn't even use the very large television... instead, I let myself be enchanted by huge, rustling flocks of birds, sunsets, and many shooting stars. What a great time.

Also, thank you, Family Kraus, for allowing us to be your guests. We look forward to seeing you again next year!

Dream house for all seasons

We spent wonderful days at the North Sea holiday home over Carnival, despite the rain and storm. Even in rather gloomy weather, the large windows make it so bright that you only turn on additional lights to make it cozier. Plus, many wonderful places to relax, read, and chat, with the open view over the wide field always there. In the morning, waking up comfortably in the dream room under the roof and in the evenings sitting for hours by the crackling fireplace - that was a vacation just to our liking.

The house is furnished with lots of attention to detail and yet pleasantly airy and simple in design. The kitchen equipment far surpasses our kitchen at home. ;)

Relaxing multi-generational holiday

We spent a week in the beautiful holiday home with my parents and our two kids. The entire house is very nicely furnished, we lacked nothing. Everything was very clean, we really felt comfortable in the house. The accessible bathroom on the ground floor was perfect for my parents. Behind the house is a large field, it is really peaceful here, and we even had a pheasant visit our garden :)

The kids were very happy with the toys and were glad when we stayed home sometimes :)

The beach is a 5-minute walk away and is really great. We did a guided children's mudflat hike, everyone enjoyed it a lot.
There is really a lot to see and experience, it will definitely not be boring. Culinarily, you are also well taken care of in the surrounding villages.

All in all, a perfect holiday!

Gut

We were able to spend a beautiful, relaxing week in the very clean and pleasant "Our-North-Sea-Holiday-House". The overall environment also matched perfectly. All in all, a very good atmosphere. Ein schönes, gut ausgestattetes Ferienhaus

Dear holidaymakers, dear Kraus family,

In my review, I would like to provide information about the accessibility of the house, especially for wheelchair users, to give them the opportunity to find out if the house meets their specific needs.

In general, we really like the house, and this year we spent our third North Sea vacation there! We were thrilled from the moment we entered and have remained so to this day. The kitchen is particularly well-equipped and everything is just as cozy and beautifully furnished as the pictures suggest. The house is quietly located; the location directly next to a field offers a beautiful, wide view from the living room/kitchen.

Now regarding accessibility: Only the ground floor is accessible, where the living room/kitchen, a bedroom with a double bed, one of the two bathrooms, and a storage room are located. All doors are wide enough to pass through with an electric wheelchair.

The double bed in the bedroom has an electrically adjustable head and foot end in the front bed. The height of the bed cannot be adjusted. However, it is quite high, so that you do not have to bridge a large height difference when transferring. There is enough space around the bed to reach the existing cabinets with a wheelchair easily. With an electric wheelchair, you will probably only be able to reach the front bed, as there is little space to maneuver in the rear area.

The bathroom is spacious. The sink is wheelchair accessible and the mirror can be tilted if needed. The shower does not have a shower tray, making it easily accessible with a shower wheelchair. There is a grab bar next to the toilet.

The living room and kitchen are also very spacious. The threshold to the terrace has been flattened, so that it can be easily crossed with a wheelchair.

More dream house than holiday home

The highlight is the view from the "dream room" on the first floor. Here, as the Ostfriesian likes to say, you can already see on Wednesday who's coming for tea on Saturday. And just stay in bed in the morning. The entire house is of extremely high quality, tastefully decorated and furnished with a lot of attention to detail. The photos reflect this very well. Quite different from what I know from other vacation homes at the North Sea, the focus here is not on pure functionality, but on making you feel at home from the very first moment. Those who have met the landlady, Mrs. Kraus, also know where the warmth that is felt in every detail of the house comes from. By the way, for those who think that the North Sea is only interesting in the summer, should spend a cozy evening by the fireplace after a long walk in February in front of, on, and behind the dike. Every day is pure relaxation there. And "grünkohl (kale) with pinkel (smoked sausage)" just tastes better in winter.

We liked the house of the Kraus family very much. The furnishings are great, as is the location. We were there as grandparents with grandson, son and daughter-in-law. There were enough toys for the grandson, we didn't have to bring anything. We would spend our holiday there again at any time.

Ein sehr zu empfehlendes Traum-Ferienhaus

We spent the week before Easter with our three children (4,6,9) in this truly tastefully furnished and fully equipped holiday home that leaves nothing to be desired. We particularly liked the stylish decor, the very good facilities, and the truly quiet and beachfront location.

A beautiful holiday home with all the comforts!

A very nice holiday home where you feel right at home. The house has a beautiful sunny location with a wide view over the fields. For us, the beds were especially important. For a long time we finally had a holiday home where we slept well and recovered well. Dear family Kraus, we will gladly come again!

Holiday home of the highest class.

We were allowed to spend 1 week in the beautiful holiday home of the Kraus family in Schillig. Thank you very much for that. Even before the start of the holiday, the landlords took excellent care of all formalities. So we even received event tips and the current tide calendar (very important) in advance by email. Mrs. Kraus also personally recommended what activities we could undertake. We have never experienced this in this form before. Upon arrival, we were amazed by the house. Everything from the furnishings to the lovely decorations was perfect. We would have liked to use the super grill more often, but the weather didn't cooperate. Nevertheless, the house had plenty to offer. From the Wii console for the kids to the dream room for relaxation, there was something for everyone. Shopping opportunities, a bakery, or restaurants were within a few minutes' walk.
The beach was also just a few minutes away on foot.
Since we were traveling with children, our activities were also focused on them. Mention should be made here of the thermal baths in Horumersiel and Hooksiel, which are supplied with seawater and are accordingly cool. We can recommend the Nautimo adventure pool in Wilhelmshaven. There is also the Navy Museum and the Aquarium. We were completely satisfied and would love to come back. Thank you, Kraus family.

Wonderful is redefined here.

We have been going to Schillig for decades because you can walk wonderfully there, find peace, and escape everyday stress. Unfortunately, we never found the right accommodation, but now we have finally found it - the homeowners are very nice, and the house is well-maintained and modern as shown in the pictures. If you want to barbecue outside, you are offered a new Weber grill and excellent garden furniture that invite you to long evenings in the garden with a splendid view. All in all, we will definitely come back, price-performance ratio, location, and equipment are in a very good balance here.

Great house, amazing beach, and lots of recreational activities!

The house makes a very good impression, and the interior even more so! Everything you need is there, from the kitchen equipment, terrace with a beach chair, great view of the countryside, fireplace, comfortable sofa corner, reading and puzzle corner, nice bedroom and bathroom suitable for wheelchair users like me! The entire house is wheelchair accessible and therefore a great holiday accommodation with a wheelchair and other aids! Upstairs there are two more beautiful bedrooms and a bathroom where our kids felt at home! Just great and always happy to come back, a great holiday.

Simply perfect

The holiday home offers not only everything, but even more. You can tell that the owners use the house themselves. Nothing is missing. The decor is sensible, not over the top. We felt very comfortable. The bathroom on the ground floor is wheelchair accessible. The terrace is bathed in sunlight all day, in the evening the brickwork radiates warmth and you can stay outside for a long time. Ideal for a barbecue evening. Or simply sit in the beach basket - yes, there really is one on the terrace! For nature lovers, there are pheasants, rabbits, and various other animals to observe on the adjacent field. Occasionally, the rabbits even dare to come to the lawn in front of the terrace to feed. In a few minutes, you can reach the beach. Unfortunately, the sea is not always there due to the tides, but that should be known. . . instead, you can walk wonderfully in the mudflats. Of course, you can also sign up for a guided mudflat walking tour that lasts several hours. In the small pedestrian zone, there is a bakery about 5-7 minutes on foot. In the nearby town of Horumersiel, numerous restaurants offer something for every taste. Horumersiel is reachable on foot in a good half an hour depending on the route. The tranquil small town of Jever is approximately 20 km away. The route passes through Hohenkirchen, where, among other things, There is also an Aldi (Nord) and a Lidl located. In Jever, the brewery tour is definitely recommended. Registration and times at the Jever Shop. In the house, there are well-sorted folders with many ideas for further activities. Relaxation and recreation

Dear Kraus family, we felt extremely comfortable in your house. Dream house - dream vacation

For the second time, our family (2 adults and 3 children aged between 2 and 7) had the pleasure of staying at the beautiful holiday home of the Kraus family.

The vacation truly begins as soon as you step over the threshold of the front door, because everything is just right in this accommodation! Each room is furnished with a lot of love and a keen eye for details:

THE Frisian room on the ground floor exudes maritime charm... THE barrier-free bathroom on the ground floor is also perfect for showering off sandy rubber boots, muddy trousers, children, etc..

THE living-dining-kitchen area is excellently equipped, and the large windows provide a view of the wide field including pheasants, hares, ducks, seagulls, tractors. It is truly a vacation for the eyes..

ON the terrace, the beach chair is clearly the highlight! Sit down, put your feet up, enjoy the sun, forget about everyday life... In the dream room on the upper floor, you have a wonderful view of the field behind the house - even from the bed. With such a view, you start the new vacation day well...

The dyke room on the upper floor has always been our big girls' realm, and they felt absolutely comfortable! I just say: Take time to dream...

In the bathroom on the upper floor, you can enjoy the great amenities and underfloor heating...

That was our personal tour of the "holiday home" (quote from Kid No. 3 / 2 years). Four things I would like to highlight at the end:

1. There is plenty of toys available in the house! Our kids loved it and were often busy for a long time - and parents had some peace and quiet... wink...

2. The handcart! It was simply invaluable for us! Great that it is available!

3. In the house, you will find well-organized loads of information about vacationing in Schillig: tips for kids, excursion options, bus schedules, etc. Great service! Thank you!

4. The clean and cozy ambience of the house made us feel at home! The contact with the Kraus family is always very, very friendly! You can tell that they have put a lot of heart into this house! Whether in spring or fall - we have enjoyed every vacation moment and would love to come back!

Vicinity of the holiday home: Das Haus liegt in einer ruhigen Nebenstraße. Hinter dem Haus beginnt ein weites Feld, so dass man hier den unverbauten Blick genießen kann.
Der schöne, lange Sandstrand von Schillig ist so sehr selten am Festland und lädt zum entspannten Spazierengehen ein.

free time activities: Für Kinder gibt es Kinderspielhäuser in Horumersiel/Schillig und Hooksiel. Desweiteren gibt es für die Kleinen in der Umgebung diverse Indoor-Spielhäuser und Freizeitparks. Zahlreiche Tipps für Ausflugsmöglichkeiten befinden sich im Ferienhaus! Unsere Kinder fanden besonders das Aquarium in Wilhelmshaven toll und mein Mann genoss besonders die Drachenwiese.

shopping facilities: In Schillig befindet sich ein kleiner Supermarkt, diverse Andenkenläden, Wellness-Laden, Fahrradverleih und Gastronomie. Einen größeren Supermarkt findet man gleich im Nebenort Horumersiel. Wer über einen schönen Wochenmarkt schlendern möchte, sollte am Dienstag oder Freitag nach Jever fahren.

Great time in a dreamy house

After many accommodations since the mid-70s in Schillig/Horumersiel, from rental caravans to various hotels to holiday apartments/houses, I have seen a lot - but this accommodation really pleasantly surprised me. Clean, everything you need in the house, a fireplace and even firewood on site.
The rooms are tastefully decorated, an oasis to feel comfortable in. For the connection to the outside world, there is a free Wi-Fi connection, a barbecue for cozy evenings on the terrace. 2 bathrooms, 3 bedrooms, and more, there is so much more to tell. If you don't feel comfortable here, it's your own fault.
The house is located directly by the field, on the beautiful terrace you can enjoy the peace and the beautiful view. It's just a stone's throw to the North Sea.
We liked it so much that we immediately booked two more separate weeks. It is also worth mentioning the service that the landlords also inquire whether everything worked out or if there are any questions. I find that very good. Friedhelm, Anja, and Tasha say thank you.

Vicinity of the holiday home: Ein schönes Stück Nordseeküste mit einem Sandstrand, wie man ihn sonst nur auf den Inseln findet.

free time activities: Das Übliche: Rad fahren, spazieren gehen, Reiten, alles um den Campingplatz, Ausflüge mit den Schiffen oder Watt wandern.

shopping facilities: Ein kleiner Markt in Schillig, in 2 Min mit dem Rad zu erreichen, Bäcker, Fischgeschäft usw in Horumersiel (5 Min mit dem Auto)hier ist auch ein Supermarkt. Ansonsten ist Jever oder Hohenkirchen ein Anlaufpunkt zum bummeln, oder man fährt nach Wilhelmshaven (25 km). Den frischesten Fisch gibts in Carolinensiel,direkt am Hafen das Lokal ist empfehlenswert.

Spacious holiday home with excellent facilities

We were lucky to spend a week in October 2011 in this beautiful holiday home with wonderful autumn weather. Our expectations were met from the very first moment.

A bright, well-equipped house where you can find enough space for peaceful moments. The house is located in a small side street directly behind the dike. On the garden side, the view extends to vast fields. Even in colder temperatures, we could enjoy the sun on the terrace, protected from the wind. The kitchen is generously equipped with dishes, cutlery, cooking pots, etc. Even baking is not a problem due to the existing basic equipment. The furnishings throughout the house are new and tastefully selected.

A heartfelt thank you to the landlords! Booking went smoothly, the contact was always very nice. In a guest letter, all important information from arrival to departure is communicated in time before the start of the holiday. Everything was great, it was a wonderful vacation that even our two children enjoyed. Thank you to the Kraus family.
