Filzmoos - From the child on the tree

Filzmoos guards a legendary figure of the little Jesus Christ. According to the legend, shepherds found it on a tree stump and brought it to Altenmarkt. But it disappeared from there and reappeared at its tree place in Filzmoos. In honor of her, a chapel was built at this site, later the current parish church, which soon became a pilgrimage church. To this day, you can admire the wooden sculpture of the "Filzmooser Kindl" in the parish church. A special highlight of the village is the Oberhof - an originally preserved farmhouse from the 13th century still in use by the Hofer family, who were able to buy themselves out of serfdom in the 17th century. Here you will find the interesting Hofmuseum. The managed Oberhofalm and Unterhofalm also belong to the farm. Both are beautiful destinations. The Filzmoos locals and their neighbors have always known it! Not only the appearance of the miraculous Jesus figure, but also the mention of the "fountain of youth at the Bischofsmütze" point to special places in the Filzmoos municipality. A geomantic survey revealed 17 such power places, which are now specially marked and available to everyone for recharging their batteries. An intangible highlight during the Christmas season is the so-called "Filzmooser Christmas idyll". It is a romantically illuminated torchlight path from the Unterhofalm to the Oberhofalm and up to the Almsee. There, a large nativity scene, music, mulled wine, and much more await you.
