Set out on a discovery tour to castles, churches, and caves in an untouched mountain landscape. Hike from your holiday home along the Ostuferwanderweg to Schloss Grub on the eastern shore of Lake Hallstatt. Dreifaltigkeit was founded in the 18th century by Empress Maria Theresa. An extraordinary natural monument is the ensemble of the Dachstein caves. The Dachstein Giant Ice Cave, the Mammoth Cave, and the Koppenbrüller Cave were only discovered in the 20th century and are now among the most exciting natural monuments in Austria. The caves can be reached directly from Obertraun by cable car and a short 15-minute hike. Enjoy a panoramic view of the World Heritage region and Lake Hallstatt from the Welterbespirale viewing platform, located at the 2,100-meter-high summit of the Krippenstein, 500 meters above the valley floor.

A total of seven lifts take you up to over 2,100 meters in altitude. The white mountain landscape can be explored more comfortably on snowshoes.
