The apartment is modern and fully equipped. The beds are excellent and it is spotlessly clean.
There is an elevator. There is a large balcony, where you have a nice view over the village.
You can park your car in a covered private parking space. It is wonderfully quiet and there is plenty to do in the area.

Contacts with Dutch owner were excellent. We felt at home at home. At first, the heating was not working enough, but after consultation with the caretaker on site was quickly arranged. Of the 14 days we stayed there was the most beautiful days walking again, what we have done to the fullest. A trip to Lake Constance (not the same as the Bodensee) was also very successful, including eaten delicious locally caught florel. All in all a successful stay in the house.

Haus Grobming is a delightful cottage is fully equipped. Very well equipped and with a wonderful tuin.Mooie location with a beautiful view of the mountains. Ideal starting point for hikers and mountain bikers and within walking distance of a climbing park there .We will definitely come back.

How is the weather in Gröbming?

On the sunny side of the Alps

The Gröbminger Land on the southeastern Dachstein massif is pleasantly mild in summer due to its location south of the Alps. Thanks to the clear and pure mountain air, Gröbming enjoys the status of a climatic health resort. In July and August, daytime temperatures rise to average highs of 23 °C – perfect for a holiday in the mountains in Liezen and the surrounding area. In winter, the mercury drops significantly below freezing, ensuring snow in the surrounding ski areas.

Enjoying the Buschenschänken with Sterz and Schilcher

The Styria region, with its capital Graz, is known as the green heart of Austria. This is also reflected in the culinary tradition of the state. The most famous specialties are Styrian pumpkin seed oil and the scarlet runner bean. A typical meal, which can be eaten as a side dish, main course, or accompaniment to coffee depending on the preparation, is Sterz or Türkensterz made from cornmeal – similar to polenta. Sterz was once a poor man's meal, taken as a fork breakfast with pork lard and cracklings. In addition to the Enns, there are numerous clear rivers, streams, and lakes in Styria that provide excellent fish – whether carp, pike-perch, or trout – fish lovers are guaranteed to get their money's worth in the otherwise meat-heavy Austrian cuisine. Among the drinks, the Schilcher (or Schiller) is worth mentioning, a red wine (or rosé in the style of red wine) made from the local Blauer Wildbacher grape variety. Especially after the harvest in autumn, the young, sparkling, and not yet fermented wine is enjoyed in the Buschenschänken of the wineries and farms as Schilchersturm with roasted chestnuts. Lovers of high-proof spirits will find what they are looking for at the Mandlberggut distillery & Latschenbrennerei, which produces local whiskey as well as mountain pine and stone pine spirits.

The Schladming–Dachstein ski region, with the Ski amadé ski association, is one of the most extensive and diverse winter sports areas in Europe. 88 lifts take you to the entrances of about 230 kilometers of slopes and over 400 kilometers of cross-country ski trails. Snowboarding and freeriding are also possible. There is an 18-kilometer-long off-piste descent. The cross-country skiing center of the region is Ramsau am Dachstein. Here alone, over 200 kilometers of groomed trails start. And even without skis, you can actively enjoy your winter holiday – tobogganing, winter hiking, snowshoeing, or relaxing on a horse-drawn sleigh ride through the white mountain landscape. In summer, you can go hiking, cycling, mountain biking, climbing, and walking. If that's not enough, try paragliding or canyoning for an adventure.

Gröbming is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site Hallstatt–Dachstein/Salzkammergut and thus part of a fascinating cultural landscape. Those who set out to hike this landscape will encounter small attractions everywhere that are worth a detour.
