House Höganäs
Totebo
We had a great time here at House Höganäs in Totebo. The children loved going out on the lake with the rowboat. We could let off steam on the large trampoline and the pirate ship playhouse while also relaxing under the beautiful apple trees. The location was simply perfect for spending two days in the Astrid Lindgren World. Also ideal for many other excursions!
We gladly recommend the accommodation.

Ferienhaus Alerås
Nybro
Unfortunately, we were unable to go to Sweden for 3 years due to health reasons. This vacation was also uncertain until the end.
However, we were welcomed by a house and its surroundings where we felt at home right away.
Nothing was missing, even a knife sharpener was available. I could play soccer with my son in the large garden.
A heartfelt thank you to Götz and Gabriele who both put a lot of love into the little house. All in all, one can only say - Sweden pure -

Among the most impressive attractions here are the idyllic nature with its approximately 5000 lakes, the archipelagos along the coast, and dense forests in the south. For excursions, it is worth visiting the design-rich areas for furniture and glass. For example, the founder of the IKEA furniture store chain was born in Småland. The exhibition IKEA Through the Ages in Älmhult shows the development of the company from its beginnings to the present. In Gränna, a local museum, a candy cane kitchen, and a crispbread bakery await curious visitors. The open-air museum in this town deals with the polar regions and the expeditions of Swedish researchers to these areas. Use your stay in your private holiday home in Sweden to explore the wonderful wooden buildings in the beautiful region of Småland. The churches in Jönköping, Hyltebruk, or Visingsö are particularly beautiful. In Långaryd, there is a rampart that formerly served as a fortification. Unnaryd in the Hylte district presents an exhibition of wall hangings spanning over two centuries at the Bonadsmuseum. Not far from there, you can also visit a historic sawmill and a beautiful mill from the 18th century.
The region of Småland is the homeland of the popular children's book author Astrid Lindgren. In her honor, the theme park Astrid Lindgrens Värld was established in Vimmerby. In this park, you and your children can follow in the footsteps of the little heroes. Pippi Longstocking, Ronja, or Michel from Lönneberga will meet you on the rounds through the beautiful park and invite you into Villa Villekulla. The plays are performed on the stages in the park, and it's easy to come face-to-face with the characters from the stories. Another attraction is the moose parks in Southern Sweden. The animals can come up to the house in the wild, but this happens quite rarely. Those who want to see the majestic bulls or the cute calves should visit one of the moose parks. The Åsnen National Park offers a breathtaking setting with lakes, untouched beech forests, and the archipelago coast. The flea markets, which preferably take place in the spring, are interesting. Around Easter, the numerous fans of the vintage car scene start their meetings and tours.
As a family with children, you have it really good on a family vacation in Småland. The holiday homes are wonderfully located by the sea, in the forest, or by one of the enchanting lakes. On the lakes, you can wonderfully sail with a boat, such as a rowboat or canoe, observe the water birds and insects, and perhaps catch one or two fish from the boat. Many fishing opportunities for the perfect fishing holiday! In summer, it is wonderful to swim here. If you rent your holiday home directly by one of the waters, you will be thrilled by the unique setting. In this landscape, you can simply forget the time. Cycling, riding, or just relaxing by the lake - the quiet location and proximity to nature make a vacation in a house in Sweden a unique experience. How about accommodation by Vättern? Vättern is the second largest lake in Sweden and is drained into the Baltic Sea by the Motala ström. The whole family recovers perfectly in a wooden house with a sauna in Southern Sweden, which can be located in Fagerhult, Kalmar Län, Ankarsrum, or Urshult. Everywhere there are opportunities for sports activities and special offers. Visit the Rosenlundsbadet fun pool in Jönköping or the nearby mini-golf and bowling alley. The indoor adventure playground Monkey Town in Huskvarna is a perfect excursion destination when the weather is not so cooperative. In Kulltorp, experience exciting adventures in the beautiful Western Park High Caparral in the province. A trip to Öland or Bullerbü is also an unforgettable experience for both young and old. Even for families with pets or dogs, you can find your personal holiday accommodation with a breathtaking view of the stunning landscape.
The cuisine of Småland works with fresh regional ingredients and the imaginative interpretation of traditional dishes. You can shop at markets and directly from producers and prepare delicious meals in the kitchen of your holiday home. If you feel like more relaxation, leave the private accommodation in the house and go on a discovery tour to the local eateries and coffee shops of the province. Good fishing opportunities in the lakes provide a rich supply of fresh fish. Herring from the Baltic Sea is deliciously marinated and typically served with potatoes. Maybe you want to catch it yourself? Wild fruits thrive in the forests of Småland. Lingonberries are known as the Red Gold - they are enjoyed in the form of puree and juice. Combined with a juicy, still warm cheesecake, they release an incredible scent and a unique flavor. If you like sausages, you should try the traditional Isterband with potatoes, beets, and a dollop of the famous lingonberry puree.
To experience art and culture, you can visit the numerous galleries and workshops of artisans. Set out from your holiday home for a trip to the glass region. The so-called Kingdom of Crystal in southeastern Sweden is a center of glass art. The city of Växjö in the west of the Kingdom of Crystal, with its glass museum, is considered the capital. Watch the glassblowers form delicate and artistic creations. The beautiful colors and excellent quality of Swedish glass art are renowned worldwide. Glass production dates back to 1742 and is still maintained today in 13 glassworks and studios. In some facilities, you can even try your hand at making a vase. In the Smedbyn Gallery in Huskvarna, you will find contemporary art and unique pieces from the glassworks. The Dollhouse Museum in Hulu, with its more than 100 dollhouses and toys, is also worth a visit. A cultural highlight is the Midsummer festival at the summer solstice. On this evening, all Swedes gather outdoors in public places and celebrate all night long with dancing and singing.
You can easily reach your idyllic holiday home near the city of Växjö or in pristine nature on the sandy beaches of the Baltic coast in Småland by train, car, car ferry, or airplane. To get from Germany to Sweden, you don't necessarily have to take a ship. The Öresund Bridge, opened in 2000, provides a fast and affordable connection between Copenhagen and Malmö. Travel in style by ferry across the Baltic Sea to your cozy holiday home in Sweden. Enjoy the wonderful atmosphere on board and get in the mood for a relaxing vacation in Sweden. On the sea route, you start from Rostock, Travemünde, or Putgarden to reach the Swedish ports in Helsingborg or Trelleborg. By car, continue on the well-developed highways and national roads on the Swedish side to your Swedish wooden house. International flights land in Malmö. Organize your onward journey by bus, train, or a rental car through the wonderful Swedish landscape. Spend varied and unforgettable holidays in the Scandinavian area!
