We, two adults and an infant, had a wonderful and unforgettable (parental) time at Älgträff, which we will remember for a long time and which will definitely be the reason for many more visits. The house is wonderfully located at the edge of Mörlunda; peace guaranteed. Although a road runs directly in front of the house, it is not very busy, so one is more surprised when a car passes by. Mörlunda is a beautiful small village where you can find everything you need: a supermarket (ICA) with an ATM and a nearby gas station are all within walking distance - there are also bicycles in the shed which you are welcome to use for a ride to the lake or supermarket. Many great bathing spots at various lakes are easily accessible, the nearest one is reachable even without a car and offers everything one could want. In addition, the location of the place is a great starting point for countless excursions and activities in Smaland and beyond - we have immortalized our favorite destinations in the guestbook :)

The house is super cozy, personally furnished, and fantastically equipped - especially the kitchen leaves nothing to be desired.

The kitchen, or rather the dining room, is so cozy that we mainly stayed here in the evenings, cooking, eating, or relaxing and reading. In the bedrooms, there are mosquito nets for the windows, so you can ventilate or sleep with the window open without worries.

A highlight is certainly the forest directly at the property - here, there is a well-developed running track for running enthusiasts, right through the Småland forest. We always enjoyed this and used it intensively.

We would have liked to write more, but we probably already reached the maximum character limit for this review.

Kein Wunsch bleibt offen im Älgtreff

For the first time in Sweden, we fell in love with the charming house Älgtreff based on the photos beforehand, as it seemed so "typically Swedish" to us. And we actually felt completely comfortable there. Mörlunda is a very small place, there's nothing happening, but there is a shopping opportunity, and for those seeking relaxation and peace, it's a good place to be. The house is truly fully furnished - it feels like visiting someone's home, everything you need is simply there. Kitchen fully equipped with stove, oven, all utensils you can think of, even some non-perishable food left by previous tenants.
There are records from A to Z and a record player, reading material, a shed with bikes, parking spaces for cars, cozy seating outside on a terrace, even slippers are available if someone likes. . . The rooms are spotlessly clean and cosily furnished, among other things with a variety of different lamps, matching curtains, etc. We brought our own bed linen.
The bathroom was a dream, the bathtub a place of well-being. Behind the house, there is a small woodland with a jogging trail. The nearest lake, where you can of course swim, is only 2 km away; a small, pretty elk park is reachable in about 9 km. If you like a romantic country house style, love nature, and enjoy cycling (we had our own bikes with us), you will be happy at Älgtreff and can let off steam in the surrounding area. Those looking for sights and action are better off in a larger town.
The contact with the landlords was extremely friendly, all inquiries were answered very quickly and comprehensively. We were able to buy wonderful honey directly from Marten, which we are currently enjoying a year later in beautiful memories of Sweden.
We can highly recommend the accommodation - only drawback: so far away from southern Germany ;-).

Wonderfully quiet.

We as a family were guests at the Älgträff house in the summer of 2023. It was wonderfully quiet there - especially the forest area behind the house is great for little adventurers. There are several cycling excursions possible (e.g., the small lake Lillesjö with a perfect bathing spot, moose farm - the locals drive very considerately, so you can also ride on country roads). The house has everything you need - but we almost always had breakfast outside. Not far away there are shopping opportunities and a train station.

perfect and relaxing family holiday

We stayed at Haus Älgträff for a good 2 weeks in August 2022 with two school children and enjoyed every minute there.

The house has an incredible flair due to the old wooden floors, windows and furniture. We have already spent about 25 holidays in holiday homes, but we have never felt so comfortable. The equipment is very good, all kitchen utensils are available and the washing machine and dishwasher make everyday holiday life much easier. Finally a house where there is enough cutlery and plates, glasses and cups. We spent a lot of time on the outdoor seating in the garden and were able to relax and use the charcoal ball grill. The bikes were ideal for shopping at the local supermarket

Beautifully furnished and very clean holiday home - we will gladly come again

At the end of June to the middle of July we spent two incredibly relaxing holidays in the lovingly furnished holiday home Älgtreff in Mörlunda.


The landlords Annelie and Marten Petersen have furnished the house in such a way that you immediately feel at home. Everything you need for your holiday is there. In the garden there is a beautiful sun terrace where you can have breakfast, fika and in the evenings it is also very pleasant to sit there.

The bathroom is very nice and in all 4 windows you look directly into the leaves of the trees, so you feel like in a tree house. From the holiday home you can make very nice trips to the near and far surroundings, Vimmerby, Bullerby and Kattult are not far for all Astrid Lindgren fans. The Baltic Sea and the archipelago islands are also nearby.
The nearest bathing lake is not far away. The local supermarket has everything you need, and there are other shops in Hultsfred. Many thanks to our great landlords, who we have taken to our hearts, from the Gassert family in Heidelberg.

Beautiful house for the perfect Sweden vacation.

We were allowed to spend just under 10 days in this great Swedish house. From the beginning, we felt very comfortable in this holiday home. It's not like most vacation homes, but designed and furnished with such love as we have rarely experienced. It really lacks nothing, so we just enjoyed every day here.
The landlords Marten & Annelie really complete the package. So friendly and helpful. Thank you very much ;—). We were also able to learn a lot about beekeeping because Marten is an expert in this field, and we could even buy the honey from him. Really great.
In the garden, there is a great terrace where we could enjoy our coffee in the sunshine in the mornings. The nearest grocery store is just a 5-minute drive away or a leisurely bike ride. There's even a small but very delicious pizzeria in Mörlunda. Right behind the house, you can start a forest walk through a small path.
So, for us, the perfect holiday destination. Thank you both for this great time. We will come back and can highly recommend you.

Schweden erleben

Great accommodation, everything as described here.
Great landlords Marten and Annelie were very helpful from the first contact.
Also, the visit to their private farm was very warm, we were allowed to visit their property and house, they gave us many tips. Thank you once again for your hospitality. Our children still talk about you regularly; little Annelie loved it, as did big Annelie. We will definitely come back because our children enjoyed the holiday home and Sweden so much.

Holidays in Mörlunda

We felt very comfortable in the holiday home. There are many great sitting areas in the house itself and outside in the garden. From the cottage you can make great trips to places of interest in Småland. In and around Mörlunda you have many possibilities to spend your holiday (cycling, swimming, hiking...). Even if the weather is bad, there are endless games, books and interesting facts about Sweden in the house :-) A perfect holiday for families or people who like to be in nature

Come down in Sweden.

Ein wunderschönes, gepflegtes Häuschen

You can tell that this accommodation has been furnished with love. The amenities leave nothing to be desired, the landlord is very nice and accommodating, and the price is unbeatable. Right behind the holiday home, the forest begins, where you can pick blueberries and lingonberries in the right season. The village of Mörlunda has a well-equipped Ica supermarket, but otherwise doesn't offer much. However, you can start beautiful excursions to various sights, smaller towns, and of course great lakes.

In beautiful Sweden

We are all thrilled with this beautiful holiday home. We truly felt comfortable here. The highlight is the large beds and numerous different seating areas in the house and garden, inviting you to play, chat, or eat. Mörlunda, as the sunniest place in Sweden, is a great starting point for many excursions near and far (hiking, cycling, swimming, canoeing, everything related to Astrid Lindgren, archipelago tours, fishing, and much more). The tourist information in Hultsfred is very helpful, and there are plenty of suggestions for a successful holiday in the house as well. We will gladly come back.
