Description
House Skogskvarn is a large modern holiday home built from 1991 with about 160 square metres of living space. It can also be used by individuals, but is ideal for a family with children. Due to the size and number of bedrooms (6 bedrooms - max. 10 beds), it is ideal for a family holiday with friends or even parents / parents-in-law (and perhaps share the costs!)
The entire rear part of the house was added in 2000.
The house is fully equipped, even a dishwasher is available. Only bed linen / towels / tea towels have to be brought by the tenant! On the ground floor there is a kitchen / living / dining room (with fireplace), 4 bedrooms and a bathroom with shower, bathtub, toilet and underfloor heating.
Upstairs there are 2 more bedrooms and a small toilet with washbasin.
Electric cooker with ceramic hob and oven, microwave, coffee machine, toaster, crockery / cutlery, fridge - freezer and German satellite TV are of course available. Also some small appliances like blender, egg boiler and kitchen scales are available for use.
From September 2018, a cosy WOOD HEATED sauna will be available! It offers space for 6 - 8 people and can be rented for 1000,- SEK / week ( 1500,- SEK 2 weeks )! This sauna is of course outside and guarantees a high fun factor!
Firewood for the sauna and / or the stove in the house is provided in sacks and charged according to consumption (sack 70,- SEK),
but you can also buy it yourself at the hardware store.
Unfortunately, the photos do not really show how spacious and bright the house actually is inside!
Until 2016, a Swedish family lived there permanently.
We only bought the house at the end of 2016 and prepared it for renting, equipped it and renovated it
That means: mattresses, duvets and pillows, crockery, cutlery, pots etc. were purchased NEW by us.
All those who have booked the house so far were surprised and felt very comfortable - some of them have already booked again several times!
The property is bordered to the front by a wooden fence and to the side by a hedge to increase the safety of the children when playing,
but is NOT hermetically "sealed off"... ;o)..!

Location and surroundings of object
The house is located in Skogsryd, about 25 km northeast of Tingsryd, 5 km outside Linneryd on the border with Lessebos kommun. ( Lessebo with several good shopping facilities / pharmacy / petrol station / pizzeria etc. 12 KM. )
Due to the good location in the south of Sweden, very quickly accessible via the E22 ( in Sweden only about 3 - 3.5 hours drive ), house Skogskvarn is the ideal starting point for interesting explorations in Småland's nature or to the countless "tourist destinations" in what is probably the most beautiful area in Sweden, especially for children!
You will find a large modern holiday home built from 1991 with about 160 square metres of living space on a plot of about 3500 square metres in absolute proximity to nature. ( In other words: Open the door and get out into the forest ;o)...! ) The front of the house and the lawn / the play area for the children ( swing and sandbox! ) are facing south - so the whole day in the sun! The sunset can be enjoyed with a glass of wine on the west-facing terrace!
It is the last house in the idyllic village of "Skogsryd" on the "village road", which has very little traffic and is ideal for cycling - even with children. (see pictures!) Beautiful bathing places - also very suitable for smaller children - can be reached quickly on foot or by bicycle!
Please click on the "satellite picture" on the map. As you can see ( only there! ) the river "Ronnebyå" flows only a few metres behind the house. If you zoom out, you will see that the house is surrounded by forests, rivers and lakes
In a northerly direction, your paddling tour will take you through Veden- and Knäsjö to Lake Rottnen, which is also very beautiful - in a southerly direction through untouched nature to Hammaren and Lake Viren - and even further to the town of Ronneby and the mouth of the Baltic Sea
Tingsryd and Växjö are not far away, also the island Öland and the Baltic Sea are reached in only about 1 hour drive
To "Pippi Longstocking" it is also only about 2 hours drive. However, by car, not by Canadian ;o)...!

Maybe good to know, especially for "newcomers to Sweden": We ourselves live in Skogsryd all year round - only about 1.5 KM from the house Skogskvarn and speak German.
Of course you have your peace and quiet - but if something should happen, we can be reached quickly and can help you on site!

House Skogskvarn offers the ideal conditions to escape the hectic everyday life for a few days.
On 3 sides of the property, also directly next to the rustic campfire or barbecue area, nature / the forest begins directly.
From September 2018, there will also be a wood-fired sauna for up to 8 people - which can also be rented.
The ideal place to enjoy nature and simply relax - we always find moose tracks in the snow! Now a moose has even taken a pile next to the fireplace ;o)...! In autumn there are lots of berries and mushrooms waiting to be picked! Canadians are available - but can also be brought along!
A rowing boat (Linder 440 fishing aluminium boat!) costs 1500,- SEK / week, an electric motor with battery and charger 500,- SEK / week! A 4-person canoe 1200,- SEK / week, a 2-person canoe costs 900,- SEK / week. The boat place is about 500 metres from the house. You can bring your own electric motor or combustion engine (max. 5 hp). Fishing is possible in the Ronnebyå, in the Skogsrydsjö, in the Hammaren- and Virensee for pike, zander, perch, rut, tench and white fish. Fishing permits are available for a small fee at the grocery shop in Linneryd (get them yourself!)
If you are coming from Malmö / Trelleborg, the drive to the house is only about 3 hours.
Especially in the winter months we can also imagine a "long-term rental" to potential emigrants or mechanics working in the area. Of course, different prices apply then!
Attention TRECKERFRIENDS! We also sell GERMAN veteran tractors, we always have a small selection of "cream of the crop" in stock! (from 1939 - 1972) If you are looking for something special (also rare) please send us an email or give us a call! Transport to Germany possible!
Why not combine the purchase of a veteran tractor with a few days holiday in Sweden ;o)...?

Holiday in July 2022
The house is beautiful and in a quiet location. But perfect to get to any destination of the day. A welcome folder provided by the landlord was very helpful. Everything is very clean, well maintained and in good condition. The beds are very comfortable and of very good quality. Everything you need (dishes, barbecue, etc.) is abundantly available. We brought our two dogs with us. They were also very happy with the house ;-) The landlords are very friendly, accommodating and open
We have been holidaying in Sweden since 1987 and can say that this house is in our top 3. It is highly recommended. We would rent it again at any time.

beautiful vacation in Sweden
We spent our vacation for the second time in the Skogskvarn house in 2019 and felt very comfortable. We really like the house and the location. You can relax here very well and explore the surroundings by bike. The landlords are very, very nice and helpful and have given great tips for bike tours. We will definitely come back.

The most beautiful weeks of the year
Finally a holiday in Sweden again. We have been coming to Sweden regularly since 2007 and are regular guests with our landlord. We have always been very satisfied with all the houses. Here in Skogskvarn we have come again. The house is just perfect, both the location and the comfort convince us. The landlord is excellent in all respects. Nothing is missing and the service is great. Even when a screw for my sports equipment was missing, the problem was solved half an hour later. Great response time! It was great to relax on the sun loungers in the front garden. The surrounding area was perfect for our excursions by bike. The landlord also arranged the weather for us ;-) We can recommend this house without reservation.

... sweden again and again!!!
Six of us set off for Sweden. Finally, a holiday again after all this Corona back-and-forth.
The house is really huge with cosy bedrooms and lots of cupboard space. The kitchen is more than generously equipped and the adjoining terrace invites you to linger. There is plenty of space around the house to play Viking chess, barbecue or have a campfire.
We also rented a couple of canoes and the access to the water was not far away and easy to reach. However, the mosquitoes "ate us up", so to speak, which is why we didn't go out very much. But it is definitely worthwhile. Thanks to the fly nets, however, we didn't have a single mosquito in the house. TOP, because if you've ever been to Sweden, you'll be glad when there's not a mosquito hanging around.
We had a good rest and thanks to the super nice landlords we had a great holiday in Skogskvarn.
They had lots of ideas about what to do in the area.
