Apartment in Oetz near Ski Lift

This apartment is a great choice if you are looking for a quiet retreat. It has everything you need, including a fully equipped kitchen and a cozy living space. We appreciated the modern bathroom and thoughtful amenities like a hairdryer and a coffee maker. Located just outside of Innsbruck, it is a lovely base to explore the area. The nearby dining options were also a pleasant surprise, especially the family inn Jäger just around the corner.

The house is in a particularly beautiful location. From the balcony and large terrace you can look at impressive mountain ranges on all sides. The house is easily accessible, but for groceries you have to descend 2 km to Oetz. No problem with the car, but not easy on foot given the steep road. The house itself is located on the first floor (bedrooms) and the second floor (bedroom, living room, kitchenette, small shower room, toilet and narrow long balcony with seating. Everything you practically need is there. However, the lack of an extractor hood was a loss during our warm stay. It became uncomfortably warm in the kitchen, which has no door. So the heat and food smells spread throughout the entire top floor. There is also a dishwasher. Not insurmountable, but impractical. Furthermore, the beds are quite hard, to say the least. Something we had to get used to. The owner and her husband are very helpful and friendly. The house is clean and there are plenty of towels available.

There is a lot to do in the immediate area. With the Oetztalcard you can use many things such as mountain lifts, swimming pools and public transport for free. You will quickly earn back the investment as mountain lifts are often very expensive. We also recommend a visit to the Kaunertal (40 minutes' drive). A non-touristy valley full of natural beauty and beautiful views. All in all, a big enough score.

We had a very nice ski weekend at the accommodation. The house is new, very well-maintained, and we really liked the apartment. The hostess was very friendly, always approachable, and responded quickly and easily to our questions. We felt completely comfortable and can definitely recommend the accommodation.

The west-east crossing is considered a challenging bike tour. In winter, the Hochoetz ski area attracts visitors for a skiing holiday in Oetz. Two gondola lifts take you from the valley station up to an area that is 100% equipped with snow cannons, ensuring snow for the entire season on all 39 kilometers of slopes. The Wetterkreuzbahn mountain station is at an altitude of 2,272 meters. Seven huts provide refreshment stops between descents, and once a week, the slopes are illuminated until 10 pm for night skiing. A visit to the over 5,000 m² Kidspark in Oetz should definitely be planned for families with children.
