Spacious, super beautiful vacation apartment with everything included.

The generously equipped holiday apartment, furnished with a lot of love, has everything the heart desires. Nothing is missing. The view from the associated terrace is beautiful, and we especially enjoyed the peace and quiet.
The Herrmann family is very friendly, generous, and exceptionally helpful.

We say again: Thank you very much for the wonderful stay! We will definitely come back.

Come back anytime! :-)

Very beautiful residential complex in the middle of nature, and as a big city person, you really quickly get into relaxation and recovery mode here. Very hospitable and super nice landlords, and also a great place for four-legged friends. Both dog and human lack nothing. The house has everything you need and is clean. You just feel comfortable. We would love to come back! Thank you!!!

We are now here for the second time, and we liked it very much again. The furnishings are great, the location too, and since last time, the bed has improved positively thanks to the new topper. We will definitely book again, thank you very much, Wolf family.

Best regards,

Thorsten and Gaby

Which sights are there in Hessen?

Hesse's Nearly Unlimited Attractions

A budget-friendly vacation apartment or a private holiday home in Hesse leads you to numerous attractions. For example, the Kellerwald-Edersee National Park is located at the southern part of the Edersee and is the realm of ancient beech trees. Over an area of about 6,000 hectares, you can admire the largest unfragmented Hainsimsen beech forest complex in Central Europe. Rangers are happy to provide information about the fascinating flora, fauna, and wilderness. The city of Wetzlar in the Lahn-Dill district has numerous attractions. The Doll and Toy Museum, where not only children's hearts beat faster, is very popular. The Jerusalemhaus Museum is equipped with documents and furniture and houses the Goethe-Werther Collection. In the Schwalm-Eder district in Northern Hesse, former open-pit mines were created by flooding, which are now popular recreational areas. The forests were supposedly home to Little Red Riding Hood. The eventful development and history of the region as well as old craft traditions are addressed in the numerous local museums. The Odenwald-Bergstraße-Neckartal connects the cities of Darmstadt, Neckarsulm, Heidelberg, and the Spessart, encompassing the forest-rich low mountain landscape of the Odenwald. Here, excellent cycling and hiking trails await you. In the Werra-Meißner region in Northern Hesse, the famous brothers Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm collected their world-famous "Children's and Household Tales." In Bad Sooden-Allendorf, the former salt-boiling town, the Museum at the Söder Gate offers insights into salt processing and sales. Another popular attraction is the Hessenpark Open-Air Museum in Neu-Anspach in the Hochtaunus district. A visit to the Main-Taunus district should not be missed during a vacation in a Hesse apartment. Magnificent palace parks, extensive English gardens, botanical collections, idyllic river valleys, and historic spa facilities ensure unforgettable moments.

Hessian cities are cosmopolitan and modern and impress with their richness of facets. Impressive parks and beautiful gardens await you in Giessen and Rüsselsheim. Hesse for the Whole Family

A family vacation in a quiet location in Hesse means lots of fun and sightseeing for the whole family. Many vacation apartments or holiday homes have Wi-Fi, so you can easily communicate with friends and other family members. Dogs are also welcome in many accommodations. In winter, Hesse transforms into a paradise for winter sports enthusiasts. Cross-country skiers, snowboarders, or skiers find ideal conditions here. Your children will love the exciting sledding tours in the Habichtswald Nature Park, Werratal, and Knüll Mountains. If you rent a cozy vacation apartment or a private holiday home in the Rhön winter sports region, you are staying in the snowiest area in Hesse. In the evening, relax with your whole family in the sauna in the holiday home or in front of the fireplace in the apartment. The many amusement parks, such as in Lochmühle, promise exciting and eventful hours. Taunus Wonderland, with its petting zoo and fairy tale forest, is also a worthwhile destination. Time flies here. How about a vacation in an apartment on a farm? The active agricultural operations gladly let your children participate in the daily farm life. They can help take care of ponies, rabbits, chickens, and goats and watch cows being milked while you relax in your family-friendly vacation apartment. Some houses or apartments have two bathrooms, allowing you to transform your quiet accommodation into a small wellness oasis while your children play outside and have fun.

Where can I eat out in Hessen?

Hearty Delights in Hesse

If there's one thing that's serious in Hesse, it's the sausage. There is no other country where the art of refinement is so optimized. A very special specialty is the Ahle Wurst. Other Hessian specialties include sauces and some cheeses. The menus in restaurants predominantly feature hearty and tasty dishes such as "Frankfurter Rippsche," "Äppelwoi," or "Handkäs' mit Musik." Classics also include ribs with sauerkraut and mashed potatoes, which of course are accompanied by apple wine. In many quaint apple wine pubs, the innkeepers still press the wine themselves. In the Main metropolis, you even encounter the "Ebbelwei-Express." This historic tram takes you on an exciting journey through the city. The "Ahle Worscht" always contains seven herbs, including borage, chervil, cress, pimpinelle, and chives. Some manufacturers also add yogurt, quark, cream, vinegar and oil, or mayonnaise, as well as garlic or onions. But that's all you'll learn about the recipe. Grie Soß is definitely eaten with potatoes, accompanied by either boiled eggs or boiled beef. The sauce season lasts from spring to autumn. Hesse residents also have a sweet tooth. Among the most famous sweet treats is the Frankfurter Kranz. The buttercream cake with sponge layers, red jam, and brittle is indeed a calorie bomb. Bethmännchen are marzipan pastries decorated with almond halves, a classic at Christmas markets. If you want to prepare a typical Hessian dish in your cozy vacation apartment or holiday home in a good location, we recommend visiting one of the many markets. Here you can buy fresh and delicious regional products to use in your accommodation for a delicious meal.

What is a must-see in Hessen?

Art and Culture Everywhere in Hesse

Of course, not only Frankfurt has a lot to offer: The Alzeyer Castle in Rheinhessen likely originated from a Staufen imperial castle. The rectangular castle complex was built in the 15th and 16th centuries and was rebuilt in its historical glory after being destroyed in the War of the Palatine Succession in the 19th century. Culture lovers are well catered for in the Main-Kinzig district during the summer months. The so-called Culture Summer offers a wide range of music, theater, art, film, and literature events each year. In the Rhine-Main area around Frankfurt, there are numerous cozy vacation apartments and houses that are excellent starting points for a city trip. Visit the spa towns of Bad Wildungen and Bad Homburg in the north, which are very suitable for relaxing and lingering. At the Hessian State Garden Show, recreational areas, theme gardens, flower shows, and numerous events are presented every year from April to October. Summer in Hesse also means festival time. Rock, pop, and classical music events provide a welcome change. Other highlights include the Wetzlar Festival, the Bad Hersfeld Festival, the Musical Summer Fulda in Hesse, the Fairy Tale Musical in Schönfeld Park in Kassel, and the Hippie Festival at Burg-Herzberg in the east of Hesse. From your cozy centrally located house, you can quickly and conveniently reach many events.
