descriptions

The Holiday home

The apartment is located on the ground floor of a detached villa in the countryside. In a spacious, bright kitchen you will find in the cooking area a gas stove with oven and a large refrigerator with freezer compartment.
The living area is equipped with two comfortable sofas, which offer two additional sleeping options. From the kitchen you enter the cozy bedroom. Here you will find a double bed (160x200 cm), a single bed and enough storage space for your personal belongings.
The well-kept, tasteful bathroom has a shower. There is also a utility room with a washing machine. From the kitchen you get onto a sunny terrace. From here you can look across the valley to the sea.
The south-west facing terrace offers enough sun in every season. There are Sonnenligen, garden furniture and a charcoal grill available. In the cold season provides a modern gas heating for comfortable warmth, this is paid for consumption.
The landlords live next door and happy to help if necessary.
You can park on the property's own large property.
It is an ideal domicile for couples or families who are looking for peace but also like to get to the sea quickly. It is perfect for guests who would like to do bike or motorbike tours, as they can easily park their bikes or motorbike on the property.

The sea and the sandy beaches of Imperia are about 2 km away. It is about 1 km to the big supermarket, the bakery or the petrol station.

location and surroundings of object

The house stands on a sunny hill just off Imperia. Imperia, a city on the Riviera that rarely appears in the guidebooks. Maybe that's a good thing, because it has spared Imperia mass tourism.
Imperia is made up of two neighborhoods that have been separate cities for centuries. Maurizio's Porto was characterized by peasant culture, commerce and nobility, the other Oneglia by industry and the port.

The old town of Porto Maurizio, Parasio, has an almost completely preserved medieval structure, a mountain of houses with labyrinthine alleys, stairs and underpasses. Everything wildly romantic, very authentic and fortunately not yet "totally restored". Porto Maurizio also has a nice little harbor and beautiful sandy beaches.
Oneglia, on the other hand, slowly abandons its industrial past and becomes a hip, chic city. The factories close, in the harbor more and more very good restaurants and bars emerge. In addition to the fishing boats where you can still buy fresh fish, are more and more luxury yachts. The beautiful Via Bonfante with its arcades is getting more and more interesting. There are very good grocery stores, boutiques and bars. Twice a week on Wednesdays and Saturdays a big market takes place in Oneglia. Here you will find everything from tablecloths to flowers and handbags to Parma ham.

Nearby, in the direction of the hinterland, lies the town of Dolcedo. The valley is completely covered with terraces of olive cultivation. Chestnut and oak forests stretch across the extensive olive groves up to the alpine pastures of the ridge where Monte Faudo, at 1149 meters, is the highest peak. The old transport network of the mule roads of the so-called Mulatiera is still partially preserved and designated for hiking. In Dolcedo there are many good restaurants, some small shops.

additional information

Liguria is a foodie paradise! This region offers two completely different kitchens, those of the coast and those of the highlands, where the light Ligurian wine, fine vegetables, fresh herbs and the particularly mild olive oil set the tone for both. Fish and shellfish are often served near the coast, while the famous ravioli, noodles with pesto, beans, vegetables and meat are in the hinterland.

In the Comune Vasia and the surrounding villages the famous Taggiascaoliven are cultivated. It is a particularly aromatic variety that gives a very mild oil. The city of Taggia has given this variety its name and it is only grown in a few valleys.
The fruits are small, the terrain steep and the harvest: tedious manual work. The oil is not cheap but of exceptional quality. Just ask your landlords, many produce only for their own use but a few liters you will be guaranteed to buy.
You can eat in the area of your holiday home very good and cheap. Highly recommended are the small restaurants in the hinterland, where you can try for about 25, - to 30, - per person (including drinks) a typical Ligurian menu.

These establishments always work on the same principle: they have to reserve at least one day in advance (better earlier) and arrive punctually at the agreed time. Mostly it starts at about clock.

There is no menu, all guests have the same menu, there are often up to 12 courses, it is always delicious. It is always cooked only as many reservations as there are. In this way the food is always fresh and very good and the costs can be kept low.
Highly recommended, but always with reservation:

Ristorante Al Santuario in Montegrazie

(English spoken) 27, - per person, children pay half

Ristorante Val Prino in Molini di Prela

Mobile: 00393313415339
(English spoken) 27, - per person, children pay half
Otherwise you can eat good and uncomplicated in Dolcedo, where there are some restaurants, from a simple pizzeria on the bridge, to the upscale cuisine in Casa della Rocca.

Are you looking for a pizzeria after the beach? Authentic, good, not too expensive with enough free parking in front of the door? I recommend "Fontana Rosa" in Imperia Oneglia. The restaurant is located on the lower main street between the districts of Porto Maurizio and Oneglia. There is hardly a tourist here and only the insiders know that in the summer you can dine in the wonderful rose garden. From the outside you can hardly guess it. In the "Fontana Rosa" or "Gerry" as everyone says, you can choose from the wide selection of pizzas. If you want to spend a little more, there are excellent fish and meat dishes, as well as pasta of all kinds. Please note the day ticket! Ristorante Fontana Rosa: Lungomare Vespucci (opposite the Agip petrol station), Imperia
