We were now the fifth time with the Rohe family and were very satisfied again this time. The holiday home "Little Seagull" impresses with coziness, cleanliness, and everything you need. With the Rohe family, you are well taken care of. We would happily come back!

Dear Rohe family,
thank you for 1 week of pure relaxation.
We arrived without a car, were cheerfully picked up from the train station, and were able to do our first shopping directly with you. On the day of departure, our wish to spend another 2 hours at the beach before heading back to the train station was no problem for you either :) We will fondly remember this great service for a long time.
I would describe the little seagull with the words "small but fine." My son felt very comfortable in his own little children's kingdom in the attic, lovingly furnished, and we lacked nothing.

We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for the wonderful week :)

Real Life on the Baltic Sea

The Market Square is one of the biggest attractions and sights in Ueckermünde. The alleys of the old town are rather small and narrow. In contrast, the market square is very spacious and expansive. In the Middle Ages, there were two town halls next to each other on the square. Over the centuries, the houses and the entire market square have changed their appearance. These changes over time can be very well understood here. A fisherman figure is the starting point for city tours, which you can book from May to September. Or you can stop by for a cozy meal and enjoy the culinary delights of Ueckermünde.

At the Fishing Harbor, you can watch the local fishermen at work and take home a fresh eel, pike-perch, pike, or perch. Here you experience Ueckermünde at the Szczecin Lagoon, as it truly is. Unadulterated, genuine, and charming.

Poetic Sails and Rich History

A cultural highlight of Ueckermünde is the Lagoon Museum. Across three floors, you can delve into the exciting history of the city and the region. The museum focuses on prehistoric and early history, the history of the city, brickmaking, shipping, fishing, and foundry. Here, you can admire many exhibits and objects from various epochs. A family ticket is available for just 5€. Depending on the winter or summer season, the opening hours vary as follows:

o Wed-Sat: 10 AM – 4 PM

• May to September
o Tue-Sun: 10 AM – 5 PM

Unique sails adorn the bike and hiking trail from Ueckermünde old town towards the beach. These "poetic sails" are attached to a white wooden mast and secured with steel cables. On the sail surfaces, you see maritime motifs and verses from great poets. Here, Tucholsky, Ringelnatz, Neruda, Heine, and Morgenstern are immortalized - as well as poems in English, Polish, Russian, or Spanish. A top attraction in Ueckermünde!

In the heart of the old town, you'll find the "Volksbühne" - a cultural house that now functions as a cinema with 3 halls. So step out of your holiday home or apartment and dive into cultural enjoyment! Another highlight is the Otto Lilienthal Museum in Anklam. This local museum uses various exhibits to explore the life of the aviation pioneer Otto Lilienthal. Here, you can also see a replica of a Lilienthal glider of the "Normal Segelapparat" type. Have you rented a private holiday home or an apartment? Then experience the culinary specialties of Ueckermünde! In the warm season, we recommend the Summer Garden. Here, you can end your vacation day with a freshly tapped Pilsener or delicious cocktails. With a grill and smoker, delicious dishes are also prepared. For children and families, there are activities like table tennis, outdoor chess, or a playground.

But you can also cater well at the beach. At many snack stands, you can get sausages, fish sandwiches, and tasty drinks. Right next to the promenade is also the Beach Hall, a cozy venue with a large terrace. From here, you have a great view of the water.

At the restaurant "Roter Butt", you can enjoy regional cuisine at a high level. With fresh ingredients and an authentic preparation, you get a delicious insight into the cuisine of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. It's especially maritime at "Backbord", a meticulously restored fisherman's house at the Old Bulwark. From the terrace, you can wave to passing ships.

Nature and Fairy Tales

The Nature Park at the Szczecin Lagoon is a major highlight for the whole family. The park encircles Ueckermünde on the land side, with the river, forest, and meadow landscapes of the Ueckermünde Heath. Ideal also for a vacation with a dog. Get to know the rich flora and fauna of the region! In the nature park, you can find rare bird species such as the hoopoe or the sea eagle. If you paddle along the Uecker with a raft or canoe, you might also encounter otters or beavers. Children, teenagers, and adults love the Ueckermünde Zoo. In the approximately 18-hectare area, about 400 animals live. In addition to numerous wild and domestic animals, there are also species from around the world - e.g., llamas, wolves, lions, or exotic birds. The zoo also contains numerous historical buildings - e.g., a drawbridge or a windmill. A ticket costs 12€ for adults and 6€ for children and teenagers aged 3-15. The park is open during the following times:

• November to March: 10 AM – 3 PM
• April to October: 10 AM – 6 PM

The path from Ueckermünde old town to the beach is enchanting. In fact, an exciting Fairy Tale Trail has been created here, showing numerous characters from Grimm's fairy tales. The Ueckermünde Castle - or Pomeranian Castle - is one of the last remaining buildings of the Pomeranian dukes in the federal territory. Duke Philipp II of Pomerania-Wolgast had a Renaissance castle built here in 1546. Subsequently, the castle alternated between Swedish and Prussian hands - as a hunting lodge, town hall, savings bank, or since 1950 as accommodation for the Lagoon Museum. Tip: Climb the tower and you will enjoy a fantastic view of Ueckermünde and the Szczecin Lagoon!

Experience the perfect vacation atmosphere on the 1.5-kilometer-long promenade. Stroll and wander through shops, bars, restaurants, or bistros. Regular events take place in the Music Shell.
