Beautifully renovated Harz house

Everything you need is available, garden with old trees. You still have to enter the garden through the house entrance, but a staircase from the kitchen is probably still planned. Comfortable beds, the bedrooms face the street, but there is little traffic.

5 star property

We had a very nice stay in this apartment. The location is perfectly situated for the village of Hahnenklee. The village has a beautiful park, nice terraces, and many great hikes that you can start from your apartment. It is also very dog-friendly everywhere. The apartment itself was clean and neatly furnished. It is even more spacious than it looks in the photos and very comfortable. The balcony was perfect with these summer temperatures. The hosts are very attentive and ensure that you feel welcome. In short; we hope to return here and recommend the stay.

highly recommended

The apartment was practically and comfortably furnished and above all, spotlessly clean. The communication with the hostess was very warm and caring. She took loving care of everything! We will definitely recommend the accommodation. The suggestions for excursions were also nice. The price-performance ratio is totally fine.

Where can I eat out in Hahnenklee?

Trout, Herbs, and Sausage Variations

Harz cuisine combines tradition and modernity. From the forests come wild boar, deer, venison, blueberries, and mushrooms, from the clear Harz streams delicious trout. Many chefs use these ingredients and have created new, intense flavors and scents. On the herb-rich meadows graze sheep herds, whose flavors give the animals a delicious taste. Mutton in the Harz is served with lots of caraway and onions. And on the mountain meadows in the Lower and Upper Harz grazes the Harz Red Cattle, which provides air-dried planed meat and braised beef. Vegetables and herbs like wild garlic, nettle, dandelion, pigeon's crop, sorrel appear in many regional dishes. Vegetables come from the northern edge of the Harz, while porcini mushrooms, chanterelles, honey mushrooms, saffron milk caps, and chestnuts come from the forests. The favorite drink of the Harz people is the beer, partly from the Hasseröder Brewery in Wernigerode, where a modern brewhouse has been built in recent years. In Westerhausen near Quedlinburg is Germany's northernmost winery. Here, about 20,000 bottles are pressed each year. Apple juice from Kyffhäuser and the southern Harz is only available locally. You should also definitely try the Harz cheese, which is rolled from low-fat curd into small sticks and seasoned with caraway and salt. This is often served on rye bread with lard and onions. Other culinary delights include the brook trout and brown cabbage (kale) with Brägenwurst. The delicious Halberstadt sausages are ideal as a snack in your vacation apartment or house.
