Bettenburg 443 - Panoramic - Nowak

Clean, cozy, and simply beautiful!

We felt really comfortable in the Bettenburg 443 in Hohegeiß! The apartment is very tastefully furnished, super clean, and immediately radiates nice Harz vibes. Nothing was really missing in the inventory. The swimming pool in the house is free to use, the sauna is available for a small fee – simply perfect after a hike. Our dog was also warmly welcomed. The hiking trails are right nearby, Braunlage is quickly accessible, and the playground and sledding hill right outside the door are especially great for children. From the sunny balcony, we could even watch it. A really nice accommodation for a break in the Harz, the contact with the landlord went smoothly – we would love to come back and are already looking forward to the next time! ?

Short vacation Braunlage

We spent very nice vacation days in Braunlage. The weather could not have been better. It was optimal for walks (alpacas), hikes (Achtermannshöhe), and the Walpurgis celebration in the spa park. We followed Mr. Ravdan's tip and admired the fireworks at midnight from the apartment. For dining, we can recommend Karthi's Schnitzelstube and Moni's Hexenhäuschen. We felt very comfortable in your beautiful apartment with the large balcony. Mr. Ravdan, thank you very much for the great communication. We will gladly come back.
Best regards,
Gaby and Saly

Which sights are there in Braunlage?

The Oldest Large Family in the World

When you spend your holidays in a private vacation apartment in Braunlage at a fair price, it is worth exploring the attractions in the city itself. In the Trinitatis Church in the heart of the city, regular events and concerts take place in addition to church services. Another excursion destination in the nearby area is Wernigerode Castle. Today, two museum tours take you through 40 partly originally furnished living rooms of the nobility. You can visit the castle daily from 10 am to 6 pm for just €9. During the winter months or during film shootings, opening hours may be shortened. Therefore, it is best to inform yourself in advance and check on the day to plan your visit! (As of February 2024) At the Cave Experience Center in Bad Grund, you can learn more about Earth's history, DNA research, and cave archaeology. Here, you will also encounter the Bronze Age dead from the Lichtenstein Cave. This is the oldest genetically proven large family in the world. Descendants of the clan still live today. Underground, you will find the famous Iberger Dripstone Cave. The doors to this unique experience are open from Tuesday to Sunday from 10 am to 5 pm. (As of February 2024)

Also, dare to hike through the mystical mountain landscape in the Harz and discover the majestic forests. Around the Brocken, there are deep gorges, valleys, and cliffs to explore. The Kurpark with Berggarten in the east of the city is also worth seeing. In summer, you can row boats in the Kurpark. In winter, you can unpack your skates or play ice hockey. A top tip for an excursion if you have booked a private vacation apartment in Braunlage.

To explore the forest inns more closely, you can use the Harzer Bauden-Steig. How Skiers Came to Braunlage

Experience winter sports in a different way. The Local and FIS Ski Museum in Braunlage offers an interesting museum for you. Here, you can learn how the ski circus came to Braunlage and the Harz Mountains and how the place was recognized by the International Ski Federation. There, you can participate in exciting guided tours. The museum also offers interesting historical tours of Braunlage, as well as a puzzle rally for children. If you want to learn more about the exciting history surrounding the beautiful mountain village of Hohegeiß, we recommend the local Heritage Museum "Alte Pfarre". Gain fascinating knowledge about mining and the formation of the village. However, a visit there should be well planned, as the museum is only open twice a week (Wednesdays and Saturdays) from 4 pm to 6 pm. (As of February 2024)
