Hello everyone. The house and the location are overall as described. The house is generously and spaciously equipped and had enough space for us 9 people. The garden was great for the kids to play and the terrace invited to linger.

The location of the property, the associated parking spaces, the size of the apartment. Everything needed for a "self-catering" holiday was available in the village itself. With the bus stops on site, many things could also be done without a private vehicle.

The best apartment in 15 years, everything you need is there. Clean, nicely furnished, the beds nicely made, and many little details that delighted us upon arrival. We know the area and felt very comfortable in the house with the great view. Beds for 4 people are available, I particularly loved the separate room for our son. This vacation will be unforgettable.

Which sights are there in Thiessow?

Relaxation and Fun at the Beach

With a holiday apartment in Thiessow, you have an ideal location for a beach vacation. The long beach promenade is idyllic, where you can stroll to your heart's content. At the South Beach, the Greifswalder Bodden transitions into the Baltic Sea. This section is somewhat quieter and is considered more of an insider tip.

What do you need to experience in Thiessow?

Clear View of the Greifswalder Bodden in Thiessow

A highlight is the Thiessow district of Klein Zicker, located on a small peninsula. At an impressive cliff, there is a beautiful and somewhat hidden bathing beach. Also take the time for a hike up Klein Zickerschen Mountain. From the top, you have a magnificent view of the Greifswalder Bodden. Here, you can also find remnants of a redoubt, a fortification of great military significance. Recommended routes include the ones to the seaside resort Sellin with its famous pier or to Bergen, which, with its 91-meter-high Rugard hill, is considered the center of Rügen.

What can you experience in Thiessow with children?

Water Fun for All Generations

Thiessow is especially popular among watersports enthusiasts. But families can also embark on action-packed adventures - for example, canoeing, paddling, or kitesurfing. Additionally, several surf schools are available for active families. Things are a bit calmer in the Mönchgut Nature Reserve. Here, you can experience unique nature and, with a bit of luck, observe many animal and bird species.

Where can I eat out in Thiessow?

Creative Cuisines with a Passion for Tradition

Over the past years and decades, a gourmet scene has developed on Rügen. Even traditional restaurants now offer finer creations. Regional products continue to be highly valued. Potatoes come from local fields, meat from local butcheries, and milk from regional farmers. Of course, fish from the Baltic Sea also plays a special role. Pike, pike-perch, cod, and eel are often used to create tasty dishes. From April to early May, Rügen hosts the Herring Weeks, culminating in a large culinary festival. In May, gourmets enjoy the Garfish Days. When autumn arrives, the Rügen Cabbage Weeks take place.

What is a must-see in Thiessow?

Views and Festivities

Also visit the Lotsenberg with its Pilot Tower or the viewpoint at Kleiner Königstuhl. Especially from the Pilot Tower, you have a fantastic view. On clear days, you can see all the way to Usedom. Below the tower, you can visit an exhibition about pilotage. Both tourists and locals alike enjoy the beach and summer festivals with a colorful and diverse program in a festive atmosphere. You can also use the wonderful natural landscapes for extended bike tours. During your stay in a private holiday apartment in Thiessow, don't miss the Rügen Market. From May to October, every Tuesday and Thursday between 09:00 and 16:00, you can find accessories, jewelry, cosmetics, clothing, traditional crafts, and delicious food. (As of December 2023)
