The dike count has a very special flair - the equipment is top-notch

Every year we are drawn to the Deichgraf. It is the special location and the tasteful furnishings. We are already looking forward to staying at the Deichgraf again a year in advance. There is enough space for 5 people. And outside there is a large grill. We enjoy it.

Which sights are there in Breege?

Attractions for Young and Old in the Fishing Village of Breege

For a beautiful beach vacation, it doesn't always have to be the south. The picturesque community on the Baltic Sea has its own beach and a small harbor, making leisure activities such as swimming, building sandcastles, surfing, and sailing readily available. Away from the Bodden and the Baltic Sea, well-maintained paths around the Tromper Wiek invite you to cycle and hike. On the Bregger Bodden, you can even ice skate in winter. Like other areas of Rügen, there are numerous vacation apartments and houses here. In addition to beautifully thatched houses, you will encounter numerous attractions, including the Swedish Rampart at Juliusruh and the park at Juliusruh. Near your vacation house or apartment, you can visit the Martinshafen and a Bronze Age burial mound in the neighboring community of Sagard. Just a stone's throw away is the town of Dranske, where the Störtebeker Festival takes place every year. In the midst of the Wittow Peninsula, the extensive natural landscape invites exploration. It is bordered by the Great Jasmund Bodden to the east and south, the Wieker Bodden to the west, and the Baltic Sea to the north. In the northeast of the island of Rügen, discover life underground, the origin of the Chalk Sea, and the life cycles of the national park's inhabitants in a 2,000 sqm area within the national park. From the Königsstuhl viewing platform, enjoy a breathtaking view of the Baltic Sea. The path to the viewpoint takes about three minutes from the entrance of the national park. One of the most beautiful beaches is along the Schaabe. The spit is nearly twelve kilometers long and lies between the Wittow and Jasmund peninsulas.

What do you need to experience in Breege?

Unforgettable Moments

The island of Rügen, with Breege and Juliusruh, is an excellent travel destination. Whether you choose accommodation in an idyllic, traditional captain's house or a modern holiday home with a sea view, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania impresses with many attractions and breathtaking nature. The town of Sassnitz invites you to long walks and bike rides. The longest Baltic Sea beach, Schaabe, is also very popular with naturists and dog owners. If you want to take a day trip with your family, visit the city of Stralsund. The city is packed with great attractions, such as the Old Town, which was declared a World Heritage Site in 2002. The seaside resort of Breege is located directly on the Baltic Sea beach and exudes the charm of an old fishing village. Much still points to the past. The highlight is undoubtedly the harbor. In the summer months, you can take boat trips from here to Hiddensee or Ralswiek. From the car-free island, you have a wonderful view of the surroundings. No matter which accommodation you choose: A trip to Rügen provides unforgettable moments.

What can you experience in Breege with children?

There's Plenty for the Whole Family to Enjoy

In a vacation rental with a terrace in the fishing village of Breege and Juliusruh and surrounding areas, children are welcome guests, and dogs are often allowed. Thus, a house or apartment is very suitable for a vacation with a dog in Breege. The place is a paradise on earth for children. In the gently sloping water, they can splash to their heart's content while you relax. The harbor is equally popular with both adults and children. From here, excursions to the island of Hiddensee or to the Störtebeker Festival are offered. A boat trip through the Bodden waters is also very popular. With the Rasender Roland, as the train on Rügen is jokingly called, you can explore the island steaming, whistling, and hissing. In Adventure Land in Karnitz, gold panning, lasso and axe throwing, bull riding, archery, and much more offer a welcome change. The Rügen Park presents detailed replicas of the Jagdschloss Granitz and the lighthouses on Cape Arkona at a scale of 1:25. With the mini train "Emma," you rattle past the White House in Washington, the Pyramids of Giza, and the Leaning Tower of Pisa. The apartments in North Rügen are usually equipped with Wi-Fi, allowing you to supply your friends back home with photos of your trip. Also plan a trip to Vitt, to Cape Arkona, or to the lighthouse and pier in Sassnitz. The surrounding districts near your vacation rental are also very picturesque with their captain's houses.

Where can I eat out in Breege?

Fish and More

Of course, culinary delights should not be overlooked during a vacation in a centrally located apartment or a house near the harbor in Breege. While the cuisine on Rügen used to be hearty and simple, today there are numerous creative, light dishes. Recipes from grandma's kitchen are prepared with modern sophistication. More and more regional products are being served. Pike, pike-perch, eel, and cod are plentiful in the Baltic Sea. Fresh from the cutter, they go directly to the restaurants. In autumn, the cabbage weeks start, and even top chefs enchant their guests with delicious cabbage dishes. Tüfften, as potatoes are called on Rügen, are served as a side dish with many meals. As a small snack, fish sandwiches are popular. Delicious too are the sea buckthorn liqueur and sea buckthorn ice cream. After a long walk on the sandy beach in winter, a hot grog is ideal for warming up. The kitchens in the vacation apartments are fully equipped, allowing you to treat your loved ones to a delicious dish.

What is a must-see in Breege?

Lived Tradition in Breege

Quaint thatched cottages, playful white spa villas, dreamy brick churches, and stately manor houses give Rügen a multifaceted ambiance. Many of these beautiful settings are used for cultural events: a theater under the lighthouse, a concert in the manor house in the castle park, or a celebration on the pier. During a stay in a vacation apartment or house, culture lovers will be fully satisfied. Between June and September, the festivals take place on the natural stage in Ralswiek. The theatrical production involves four ships, many horses, and over 150 participants. Every evening, you can see fireworks over the "Great Jasmund Bodden," creating an unforgettable experience.

How do I come to Breege?

Direct Route to Your Vacation Rental in Breege

You can reach your vacation apartment or house by car or public transport. From Stahlbrode, take the Glewitzer Ferry to the Zudar Peninsula. Then drive through Garz, the oldest town on the island, towards Samtens. Continue towards Gingst and through Trent until you reach the Wittow Ferry. This will take you to your accommodation in the Baltic Sea resort of Breege or nearby areas. If you prefer to travel without a ferry, drive past Bergen to Sagard. Here, turn towards Glowe/Altenkirchen. After passing through the towns of Sagard, Bobbin, and Glowe, you will arrive at your house or private apartment.
