Quiet flat, great location, nice holiday

The ground floor flat is well suited for a small family (1 toddler + 1 baby). Very short walk to the beach, playgrounds are also within walking distance. Beautiful, long beach. It is easy to go for a walk.

Top location!

We spent two weeks of the summer holidays with our children at the beautiful Schönberg beach and fell in love with the house all over again. A few years ago, we were already guests with another family in the large flat on the upper floor (Charisma I). Since we liked the location of the house so much due to the immediate proximity to the beach, we booked the smaller flat for ourselves this time. Except for a washing machine, the flat is equipped with everything you need for a stay of several weeks. The terrace provides more space, which we used for barbecuing and chilling ;-) The bathroom is small, but the shower is great!
We will come back and try out Charisma III ;-)

Super location

The flat is located in a house with two other holiday flats in a quiet street, only a few steps away from the beach
The flat is equipped with everything you need for living/holidaying, and it is not far to the shops, fish market or ice cream parlour. The beach is super nice and spacious, and you can also cycle there very well.
So ideal conditions for a nice, relaxing holiday :-)

How is the weather at Schönberger Strand?

The weather in the region is pleasantly warm and mild with relatively high rainfall of 645 mm per year. The warmest month at Schönberger Strand is July, with an average temperature of 16.5 °C. In August, the daytime maximum temperature is usually around 20 °C. As early as May and June, there are on average more than 7 hours of sunshine per day – perfect for a beach vacation with the little ones or your partner. The most hours of sunshine per day on the Baltic Sea are from May to July, although July is also one of the rainier months in this region. Occasional rainy days can be comfortably spent in the cozy vacation apartment or private holiday home! Most vacation rentals are modern, cozy, and feature a fireplace, with cleaning included. Schönberger Strand is one of the three beach sections of the Baltic Sea resort Schönberg. In addition to the central location, there are also the districts of Neuschönberg and Holm, as well as the beach sections Schönberger Strand, California, and Brazil. The mentioned beach is located near Kiel on the Baltic Sea in the Probstei. Here you will find fine sandy beaches, the Schönberger pier, and a bike path right along the coast on the dike. The beach is white, close to your affordable vacation rental, and stretches for many kilometers. Simply lie on the beach, enjoy the sun and the clear blue sea, or get active and bike or walk along the beach for miles. Enjoy your vacation in an apartment or holiday home with a sea view. The pier adjacent to the beach has become a venue in recent years. Many concerts and markets take place here directly on the Baltic Sea every year. A highlight is the annual pier festival in the summer with live music, activities for children and adults, and the grand fireworks display on the beach. There is also much to discover in the nearby areas of Schönberg and Schönberg-Holm. Following the Danish model, the Krummbeker barn has barrels of wax in beautiful colors ready. Here, you can make candles in any variation to your taste and buy decorative items in the small store. In Probsteierhagen, a unique hedge maze in Schleswig-Holstein awaits you on 2,000 sqm. It includes a top-class adventure playground with a rope raft, torture stake, suspension bridge, climbing tower with tunnel slide, and a small lake for watching fish and floating boats. At the ostrich farm in Hohenfelde, you can experience the world's largest birds up close. Here, you can marvel at large ostrich eggs and the rearing of cute chicks. Along a hiking trail, you can also observe the ostriches outdoors.

Explore Maritime History and Medieval Life Up Close

The Turmhügelburg, about 20 km away, serves as a living museum with an authentic reconstruction of a castle complex with a bakehouse, bell tower, and pond house from the early Middle Ages. Also exciting for culture enthusiasts: Kiel, about 30 km away, with its city gallery and art hall. Children love visiting the Zoological Museum or the Aquarium Kiel. This is especially worth it on a rainy day when you don't want to spend it in your holiday home or apartment at Kiel Bay. The Ostseehalle is the largest event hall in the state, and Kiel Castle is a nationally significant center for classical music. Once one of the most beautiful Renaissance buildings in Schleswig-Holstein, the castle was reduced to the West Wing due to wars and fires. Today, the building, charmingly located between the harbor and the castle garden, serves as a concert hall. If you want to get to know the city, it's best to start on the water. A two-hour harbor tour, a trip with the ferry to the Naval Memorial Laboe, or a day trip on the fjord with a traditional sailing ship are great fun. The municipality of Laboe is a residential and vacation spot and boasts the slogan "The Sunny Side of Kiel Fjord." And of course, the fjord is a paradise for sailors and other water sports enthusiasts - even outside the famous Kiel Week. Less than half an hour from your vacation rental near the Baltic coast or your holiday home with Wi-Fi and sauna to the city center. A dream for every vacationer! Hohenfelde is another municipality in the Plön district in Schleswig-Holstein - a visit is definitely worth it. Also, take a trip to Heidkate, Wendtorf, Hohwacht, or Wisch.

The state is directly at the source when it comes to fresh fish and shrimp. The cuisine is very fish-oriented, with plaice, cod, and herring being particularly popular. Potatoes and beets are also important staples for the many tasty dishes on the Baltic coast. You must try the famous Kiel sprats. Why not prepare the freshly caught shrimp and fish specialties yourself in your holiday home or apartment? Popular in the region: The fish cakes from the Ehlers fish smokehouse. The traditional cuisine in Schleswig-Holstein is robust and hearty. And it is characterized by a taste peculiarity: The North German calls it "Brooken Sööt" (Broken Sweetness). Even if Schwarzsauer, Meelbüdel, or Labskaus sound more like foreign words than culinary delights to some outsiders, these regional delicacies are definitely worth a try.

The charming surroundings show which rare animals and plants have found their habitat here. Long sandy beaches in front of the coastal protection dike characterize the coastline. In the bay, there is no place more perfect for a relaxed beach vacation. The Baltic Coast Cycle Path runs between dunes and dike right along the beach. Through the former salt marshes, surrounded by bright yellow rapeseed fields in early summer, run kilometers of paved and well-signposted bike and hiking trails. These lead directly and also crisscross to the individual highlights and beach sections. Schönberger Strand is also excellent for a vacation with a dog, as there are three designated beach sections for dogs, including beach chairs where you can enjoy the Baltic Sea air. From your apartment or holiday home with Wi-Fi in Schönberger Strand, it takes less than 50 minutes to reach Hansa-Park in Sierksdorf, the largest theme park in Schleswig-Holstein.

Since 1976, Schönberger Strand has had a museum railway. During the summer months, you can travel on the route between Schönberg and Schönberger Strand in historic trains.
