Vacation with Cats

We visited Villa Maria with our adult children to refresh memories of a long-ago vacation in Santanyí. Additionally, we are cat owners/lovers and were able to combine the pleasant with the useful. The holiday home is wonderfully quiet; there was sun, shade, an outdoor toilet, and enough space for everyone. If only those treacherous mosquitoes hadn't been around! We had been warned about them, but unfortunately, it didn't help!

Beautiful house in a quiet residential area

The house is located in a quiet residential area and offers everything you need for a relaxing vacation, just as described in the advertisement.
We were there in July and never used the living room. The large covered terrace provides shade all day long and is very pleasant to stay on even in the midday heat.
A car is recommended and you can park directly in front of the house. The way to the beach is relatively strenuous with children (steep), but it's not an issue by car as there is a fairly large parking lot at the beach. However, you should arrive early (or in the late afternoon) to secure a parking spot. Many dreamy coves and beaches can be reached within 10-20 minutes by car. The market in Santanyi and the harbor of Cala Figuera are also worth a visit. The contact with the landlords was excellent both before and during/after the stay.
If we come back to this area of Mallorca, we would be happy to return.

We, as a family with three children, have stayed at the very beautiful holiday home Casa Caperuza for the second time. You can immediately tell that the house is also used by the owners because nothing is missing! Additionally, the local support is very good, and the orientation with the very accommodating landlord Mr. Kappe is completely hassle-free. He also responds promptly to any inquiries. The pictures accurately reflect the condition of the property. I can only recommend the house to everyone!

How is the weather in Mallorca East?

Excellent travel weather all year round

Mallorca offers sunny and mild weather throughout the year. In the high season in July and August, temperatures rise to over 30 °C – perfect for a beach holiday in eastern Mallorca. In spring and autumn, the climate is warm and balanced with little rainfall. For a hiking holiday in eastern Mallorca, we recommend the months of May and June. If you like swimming in the sea, you should arrive in late summer when the water is still over 20 °C. For those who don't like beaches and sand, a private finca with its own pool is a great option.

Eastern Mallorca – A gourmet paradise

Eastern Mallorca offers hundreds of restaurants, bars, and cafes, ranging from traditional Mallorcan cuisine to Michelin-starred culinary delights. You can enjoy good and affordable food with a beautiful sea view along the promenades near your holiday apartment or holiday home in Cala Ratjada or Cala Millor. If you're looking for authentic local cuisine, you'll find it inland – in Manacor or Felanitx. A tip for gourmets in eastern Mallorca is the restaurant of Andreu Genestra. The Michelin-starred restaurant is idyllically located in a finca in the hinterland between Capdepera and Cala Mesquida. Genestra interprets traditional Mallorcan dishes in his own creative way. No matter where you rent your holiday apartment or holiday home in eastern Mallorca – the nearest beach (and the one after that) is just a stone's throw away. Families with children will have a great time here. The beaches are clean and the sand is pleasantly soft. Many beaches have shallow water depths near the shore, suitable for toddlers. As a change from beach days, trips to the stalactite caves of Artà and Porto Cristo are particularly suitable on hot days. Both caves have their own charm. In the Dragon Caves in Porto Cristo, you can expect a huge underground lake, where classical concerts are regularly held due to the special acoustics.

Numerous sights and excursion destinations near your holiday home or apartment in eastern Mallorca invite you to spend the day away from the beautiful sandy beaches. The Serra de Llevant near Artà is ideal for extensive hikes between the steep coast and the hinterland. In Artà itself, you can visit the Talayot settlement Ses Païsses, which dates back to 2000 BC. The town is dominated by the pilgrimage church Sant Salvador and the fortress. Enjoy a view over the plain to Cala Ratjada, Capdepera, and Canyamel. You can find a lively atmosphere and authentic souvenirs at the weekly markets in the small towns inland, as well as in the main town of eastern Mallorca – Manacor. In addition to the markets, the patron saint festivals are social highlights of the communities. Cala Ratjada, for example, celebrates the feast of St. Antoni on January 21 and the feast of the Virgen del Carmen, the patron saint of fishermen, on July 16. The festivities are sometimes accompanied by impressive fireworks.
