Our visit was really very nice, I liked best that we met so few people. We consciously traveled outside of the season and the holidays, and that was the right decision. Every day going into nature and being able to reach beautiful destinations on foot or by bike from the accommodation. My highlight was the Witch Forest; it was the reason to choose Lietzow. We hadn't been to Rügen for over 10 years because it was simply too expensive and overcrowded at the hot spot locations like Binz or Sellin. The Bodden is just as beautiful and the waterfront path is also lovely. The accommodation is large and the sauna, small and cozy, can also be used—it's a great thing! Maybe we'll come back again.

The apartments of Paradies Rügen leave nothing to be desired in terms of location, amenities, and craftsmanship quality - top-notch. Compared to others, the price-performance ratio is particularly good. We felt very comfortable and will book here again and again.

The coziness of this small apartment, as well as the quick, polite, and unbureaucratic phone rescheduling of our key handover, since we were involved in a car accident and therefore arrived very late in Lietzow.

What do you need to experience in Lietzow?

Little Castle, Beach, and Forest Park Near Your Apartment in Lietzow

Those who rent a holiday home or family house or a private apartment for a trip to Lietzow will not regret it! The former fishing village is an idyllic small place nestled among a wooded hill chain along a typical Rügen steep coast. Here you will find a fantastic beach for relaxing. Lietzow is ideal as a starting point for hiking and cycling along the steep coast or through the forests of the surrounding area. Nearby, you can explore the World Heritage town of Sassnitz, the Schmale Heide with the historic site of Prora, or the Jasmund National Park. In Lietzow, you can also fish or enjoy a magnificent view of Cape Arkona. In the town itself, there is a 19th-century Historicism castle to admire. The villa was built following the model of Lichtenstein Castle in the Echaz Valley in the Swabian Alb, hence its name "Schlösschen Lichtenstein." Near the town, remarkable relics from the younger Stone Age were discovered. Some of these archaeological finds are displayed in various museums on Rügen. The Semper Forest Park, established around 1920, offers a paradise-like setting. In the 38-hectare park, you can hike and enjoy a great view of the Jasmunder Bodden. A wooden staircase leads here to a wild beach. You can also visit a water tower ruin. Consider a trip to Glowe, Ralswiek, Neu Mukran, or stroll over the flint fields. The chalk cliffs are definitely worth a visit. Scenically a dream! Book a holiday accommodation or a holiday residence, apartment, or house for an unforgettable stay with your family in a prime location at a reasonable price in one of the most beautiful regions of Germany.

Where can I eat out in Lietzow?

Top Gastronomy and Grandma's Kitchen on the Island of Rügen

The cuisine of Rügen long had the reputation of being simple and hearty. However, the gastronomic scene has changed in recent years, as you will notice during a vacation with a holiday home or apartment. Gastronomy guides are increasingly recommending more establishments, and more chefs are being adorned with stars or cooking spoons. Yet, the old recipes from grandmother's kitchen have not disappeared. They are now prepared in modern variations. More and more regional products are being used. Cheese and other dairy products come from the Bisdamitz estate, asparagus from the Ummanz peninsula Ummanz, meat from the Rügen butcher in Gademow, or potatoes from Rügen Kartoffel GmbH. Vacationers often favor fish dishes. Pike, eel, cod, and perch are plentiful in the Baltic Sea and the Bodden waters. Freshly caught from the cutter, the fish lands in the kitchens of the restaurants. In spring, restaurateurs invite guests to the herring and garfish days. In autumn, cabbage is highly popular. Even in top restaurants, you will find more and more dishes with cabbage - even outside of cabbage weeks.
