Great holiday flat, nice village

We felt very comfortable on our holiday with Mr Jankowski. He is totally courteous and caring, even left us treats to start us off. It is possible to contact him at any time. The location of the holiday flat is ideal. You can reach everything you need on foot, several bakeries, supermarkets and also the beach with promenade. The village is very cute and invites you to browse through the many alleys. I deducted one star for the furnishings, as the available dining table does not offer enough space to sit with several people, although the flat is designed for six people.

We stayed at Haus Collins with four adults and four children. The facilities, the location and the manager Sascha were great. I can only recommend it. The pool was checked and cleaned several times. Mrs Philipps visited us. The beach is less than 10 minutes walk away. Shopping facilities in the near vicinity.

The picturesque old town and the protected city district of Sant Martí offer a beautiful contrast to the modern center of Riells with its long shopping and beach promenade. The streets of L’Escala are lined with numerous sculptures and monuments. North of L’Escala lie the ruins of the ancient Greco-Roman city of Empúries. The archaeological finds are exhibited at the Museu d’Arquelogia de Catalunya-Empúries. Empúries was inhabited until the early Middle Ages. L’Escala is closely associated with the extraction of sea salt and the processing of anchovies. This is documented at the Museo de la Anchoa y la Sal (MASLE) and the Alfolí de la Sal, also known as Pòsit Vell, a 17th-century warehouse for salt and fish. The remains of the former coastal defense installation of the Franco dictatorship remind us of the inglorious time of the Spanish Civil War. They are located at the Punta Milà headland on the steep coast south of L’Escala.
