Quiet and relaxing holiday

We had a very quiet and relaxing holiday in May 2019 in this house. The house is well equipped and leaves little to be desired. The bedrooms are equipped with very good mattresses (we have experienced other things). The view is beautiful and is an absolute must in the morning with a cup of coffee or in the evening with a glass of wine.
When first approaching the house, we recommend using mobile phone navigation. It is actually easier than a possibly outdated one in the car.
We are happy to recommend this house to others.
For dog owners, we would like to mention that the pine forest nearby can be reached quickly on foot and is ideal for the fur noses.

The old city center of Pals dates back to the Middle Ages in its origins. The Vila Vela is completely protected as a historical monument. Many buildings were destroyed during the Spanish Civil War and rebuilt true to the original from 1950 onwards. The Torre de las Horas dates back to the period between the 11th and 13th centuries. Four towers of the old city fortification remain – Torre d'en Ramonet, Torre d'en Rom, Torre d'en Xinel·lo, and Torre de l'Hospital. From the Mirador de Josep Pla viewpoint, there is a panoramic view from Pals over the Mediterranean and the offshore Illes Medes, which are protected nature reserves and represent one of the most beautiful diving areas on the Costa Brava. Speaking of diving – an unusual museum is the Museum of Underwater Archaeology and Desideri Ferrer Pharmacy in Pals. The Sant Pere Church is also very worth seeing. After all, one of the world's most famous (molecular) chefs, Ferran Adrià, is from the area. A creation from 2005 is Bear crabs with Green Tea foam. The cuisine of the farmers is more down-to-earth. Popular classics such as pa amb tomàquet, roasted bread rubbed with tomato and garlic, come from this tradition. Served with it is allioli, a typical garlic mayonnaise. The country kitchen also delights with tasty oven dishes such as braised rabbit. Lovers of shellfish, seafood, and fine fish will find what they are looking for on the coast – mostly at upscale prices. Lobsters, shrimp, monkfish, and the like are expensive, especially when they still come from the nearly overfished Mediterranean. Sustainable fishing can be found from the few remaining local fishing boats. A meal that fills you up on the sea is suquet, a thick fish stew with beans and potatoes served with crispy bread. A regionally appreciated fish stew is Zarzuela. This dish includes hake (merluza), mussels, prawns, tomatoes, vegetables, and garlic. As in all of Spain, wine is mostly drunk with the main meal in the evening. Excellent red, white, and rosé wines come directly from the Girona region. The Spanish sparkling wine made using the champagne method, Cava, is refreshing. After a successful meal, you can also stroll along the alleys of the town or explore a new neighborhood.
