Family Vacation

We had a wonderful family vacation with our dog at Babette's. Babette was there with advice and assistance. The accommodation has everything you need, with a wonderful view of the sea. We can recommend the dog beach in Malgrat; it’s clean and spacious enough. We really had a lovely time at Babette's and will definitely be back.

Beautiful holiday apartment with a direct sea view.

From the very first moment we inquired about the vacation apartment, Mrs. Käte Riemer was always very friendly and accommodating. Everything went smoothly! We had a wonderful summer vacation, and we wanted for nothing in the apartment. The beautiful sea view—what could be better than starting the morning like that? We experienced and undertook a lot, also visiting nearby cities. For example, Tossa de Mar was worth the trip. Such a lovely town! This vacation apartment definitely deserves 5 stars!

As a family, we are generally very happy to have spent such a beautifully successful summer vacation ☀️

I would love to rent a vacation apartment from Mrs. Käte Riemer again ☺️☀️

Family vacation right by the sea

We spent our summer vacation with our two children (8 years & 15 years old) in this beautiful, well-maintained apartment right by the sea, and we can only confirm the positive reviews.
We all felt very comfortable here and would have liked to stay longer.

The location directly on the beach is perfect.

The apartment has a small and a very large balcony with direct sea and beach views. Just a few steps lie between a beautiful garden with a pool and the beach & sea.

Restaurants and ice cream stands are also right by the house or along the promenade.

The apartment had everything one needs sufficiently available. There was really nothing missing. The kitchen was equipped with everything. Towels, etc., could be washed in the available washing machine if needed. There were 2 nice bathrooms with showers. Wi-Fi worked without any problems. A big thank you again to Ms. Riemer, who is always polite, helpful, and very accommodating with any questions.

Parking has also always worked smoothly right at the gate to the garden entrance.

All in all, it was a very nice family vacation, and we can recommend this lovely holiday apartment 100 percent.

We would love to come back!

Even though Lloret de Mar is known as a stronghold for beach, party, and nightlife, there is still plenty to see and discover. The bronze statue Dona Marinera (Fisherman's Wife) by Catalan sculptor Ernest Maragall i Noble is not to be missed. It stands on a hill between Lloret de Mar and Fenal, overlooking the coast and the sea. The statue is considered a landmark of the town. The Gothic church Església de Sant Romà in the historic city center dates back to the early 16th century and features elements of fortification architecture to protect against pirate attacks. The Castillo de Sant Joan dates back to the 11th century and was also built to protect against pirates, Moors, English, and French. With a short walk from your affordable holiday apartment, you can reach the Church of Santa Cristina in the middle of a park. The church is dedicated to the patron saint of Lloret. One of the most beautiful sights are the Jardines de Santa Clotilde gardens. It is the largest Mediterranean botanical garden in Europe. 15 hectares invite you to take a walk through the parks. The gardens were created in 1919 by landscape architect Nicolau Maria Rubió i Tudurí. A special tip is the Art Nouveau cemetery in Lloret de Mar. Many of the graves in the style of Modernisme (Spanish Art Nouveau) are listed as protected monuments.

A must is a visit to Spain's most famous construction site: The construction of the Sagrada Familia, the imaginatively designed church in the style of Modernisme, began in 1882 and is scheduled for completion in 2026 – just in time for the 100th anniversary of architect Antoni Gaudí's death. More buildings and parks by Gaudí are scattered throughout the city. Other attractions include the city's museums: The Museu d'Art Contemporani de Barcelona (MACBA) for contemporary art was designed by architect and Pritzker Prize winner Richard Meier. In the hinterland, the so-called volcanic cuisine of the Garrotxa region attracts visitors. Here you can find dishes such as wild boar with chestnuts and truffles prepared on hot lava stone. The number of restaurants below the star scale is high, and the quality of the dishes is excellent – at least when it comes to traditional cuisine. Near your holiday home or apartment, you will undoubtedly find several restaurants within walking distance. On the coast, seafood is, of course, very popular: sardines, bream, mackerel, mussels, lobsters, prawns, and squid. If you prefer something simple, try the traditional fisherman's meal, Suquet, a fish stew with beans and potatoes, in a fish restaurant with a sea view. In the mountains and forests, numerous mushrooms grow. For dessert, of course, Crema Catalana is served. This is a caramelized pudding. By the way, "Bon profit!" means "Enjoy your meal!" in Catalan.

Emigrants and eccentric artists

At the end of the 18th century, there was a large wave of emigration from Spain to Latin America. Many of the emigrants later returned as successful men to the Costa Brava. Here, some of them built magnificent villas. The Museu del Mar is housed in one of these 19th-century villas. The museum displays the history of the villa itself as well as maritime trade, ship models, and furnishings from that time. Art lovers should not miss a trip to the Teatre-Museu Dalí in Figueres. From your holiday apartment or house in Lloret de Mar, you can reach Figueres in just under an hour. The museum was created during the artist's lifetime in the former theater of his hometown. Salvador Dalí is buried under the dome of the museum. Numerous works by the surrealist, such as "Soft Self-Portrait with Fried Bacon" (1941) or "Portrait of Gala with Two Lamb Chops Balanced on Her Shoulder" (1933), can be admired in the museum, as well as the installation "The Rainy Taxi" from the International Exhibition of Surrealism in Paris in 1938. Throw in a coin, and it starts raining inside the taxi. Dalí himself designed a large part of the house. In Cadaques, very close to Figueres, stands the artist's former villa, which also houses a small museum. Plan excursions to surrounding regions, such as Fenal.
