Super view over the bay of Roses. Any time again.

Great view over the bay of Roses. Very good starting point for the beaches of Canyelles and Almadrava as well as for hikes in the nature reserve. A plus is also the beautiful garden with a view of the sea. Close phone or messenger contact with the very friendly and helpful landlord. We spent a very nice spring holiday there (partly with our two adult children). If our holiday plans take us back to this area, we would love to come back at any time.

Everything is top and as described!

We had a great 2 weeks at the turn of the year 2021/2022. 3 hours of sun every day in the afternoon on the balcony with a wonderful view of the beach and the sea. The promenade invites you for a walk in the evening. Flat clean, very well equipped and everything you need. Very good service and very good tips for your stay from the Sachon family!

We will be back again!

Perfect accommodation

The reservation went absolutely smoothly. Mr Eversberg answered every question asked before booking very quickly and in detail and sent us some information and photos of the flat already after the contract was signed. The keys were handed over by post (in our case we received the key several weeks before the day of arrival) together with sending further important info (contact details of people on site for an emergency or in case you get locked out). In the flat there is a very well designed folder with all important information about the flat and operation of appliances, including a checklist for arrival and departure. There are also several folders with information about the surroundings.

The flat was very clean when we arrived. It is very well equipped. All the appliances mentioned in the property description work perfectly. Nothing is missing. From the electric grill to the smoothie maker and espresso machine, everything is available. There is even a hand mixer, so it was no problem for me to bake a special bread. What I also found very practical was the abundance of crockery and cutlery, so you could fill up the dishwasher before running it. In addition, there is enough space to store the groceries. Everything is also available for a quick cleaning of the flat in between. Everything is very neat and tidy.

The view from the balcony in the basement or the "winter garden" upstairs is very nice. All windows are equipped with fly screens, which can be pulled up if necessary. We really appreciated the outdoor shower on the balcony in the basement during the high temperatures. There are also plenty of sun loungers. In the bedrooms there is enough storage space for your own things and plenty of hooks (also in the bathroom). All very practical and well thought out.

Clean pool, perfect for a quick cool down.

What do you need to experience in Roses?

Impressive testimonies of the past

A highlight in Roses is the beach promenade with its many restaurants and sculptures. Stroll along the sea during your trip and stroll past the sports and fishing port. Particularly worth seeing are two 18th-century naval cannons and a Roman anchor from long past times. But not only the beaches of the Costa Brava are the top tips for a holiday with a holiday home or apartment in Roses. Take a walk through the historic city center, which is located below the castle hill. From here, you can visit the medieval citadel. This is a pentagonal fortress with finds from Roman, Greek, and Visigothic settlements. Here you can also take part in guided tours to immerse yourself in these exciting past epochs. Then you can climb the Puig Rom city hill. From above, you get a majestic view of the surroundings and up to the Pyrenees. The dolmens in the Parc Megalític de Roses, the 16th-century city gate, the Castell de Bufalaranya, and the Art Nouveau house Casa Mallol from 1906, which now serves as the town hall, are also historically interesting. The Dolmen Creu d'en Cobertella, which was placed under protection and restored in 1964, east of the Torre del Sasstre, near Roses on the Costa Brava in Catalonia, Spain, is the largest dolmen in Catalonia. It was known in the Middle Ages under the names Petra Coaperta or Petra Cooperta. Excursions to the seaside resort of Cadaqués and the nature reserve around Cap de Creus or to Girona and Barcelona are also recommended. Rent a comfortably furnished accommodation, an apartment or a house with a kitchen, terrace, balcony, and air conditioning now and enjoy your personal, unforgettable journey full of relaxation and opportunities for hiking on the coast between nature parks and beautiful sights.

What can you experience in Roses with children?

Swimming, picnicking, marveling in Roses

Accommodation, a holiday home or an apartment on the coast are fantastic locations for a wonderful beach holiday in the town of Roses. There are countless beautiful beaches and coves along the Costa Brava, which are particularly suitable for families. If you are traveling with small children, you will prefer the 1,800-meter-long Platja de Roses or the 550-meter-long Platja de la Punta with its turquoise and clear water and the gently sloping sandy beach. Also recommended is the Platja de Palangres, which is located in a special idyll including a picnic area. If you bring your dog or pet, you will be happy with numerous hikes through nature parks. Also, take a trip to Empuriabrava. This is a part of the municipality of Castelló d'Empúries on the Gulf of Roses in the province of Girona in Catalonia. The privileged location between the Cap de Creus Natural Park and the Aigüamolls de l'Empordà Natural Park also makes Roses an ideal holiday destination for nature lovers.

Where can I eat out in Roses?

Star chefs and fish specialties

Use your holiday with private holiday accommodation, a holiday home or apartment to discover the culinary specialties in the town of Roses. A specialty is the fish stew suquet de peix. The dish was once prepared by fishermen on their boats and is now a classic in restaurants. In Roses, you will come across countless fish restaurants that serve dishes with fresh fish. Some of the restaurants are located in the core of the old town and along the beach promenade, from where you can also enjoy beautiful views of the sea. For a snack in between, the snack bars or bars are ideal. If you want to explore the surrounding area, you can stop at one of the typical and rustic country inns. Here you will find classic dishes such as paella, tapas or traditional Catalan food, called Cuina Casolana. About four kilometers east of Roses was the famous el Bulli restaurant by gourmet star chef Ferran Adrià, which is to be converted into a gastronomic museum and a laboratory.

How do I come to Roses?

On the Gulf of Roses

Roses is a fantastic holiday destination on the Costa Brava in Catalonia, Spain. The town is located on the northern edge of the Gulf of Roses and in the province of Girona, or in the administration of Alt Empordà. You can travel to accommodation, a holiday home or an apartment from private individuals via the AP-7/E 15 motorway, which leads to Roses via Barcelona (Spain) or Perpignan (France). The nearest major airports are also located in both cities. Book a cozy holiday accommodation, an apartment or a house with a terrace, kitchen, and air conditioning now and spend an unforgettable trip according to your personal wishes on the coast.
