Houseboat permanent mooring

The houseboat and the equipment were top-notch.
Location unbeatable.
There is always something to see on the lake.
Everything perfectly clean.
In the kitchen, everything is available that one needs on vacation.
Only the kitchen cabinets were mounted very high, making them difficult to reach for shorter people.
A small step would be helpful.

A transition dock is recommended for the transition from the boat dock to the boat.
At low water in the lake, the gap between the dock and the boat is otherwise too large. A temporary solution was quickly created.

All in all, we really enjoyed the time on the boat.

Pure feel-good factor

I have been to many holiday homes, but this was by far the best-equipped house. It truly lacked nothing. Fish were biting, and there were also mushrooms practically in the neighborhood. The complete kitchen came in very handy. A dream... Additionally, at this time of year, there is an absolutely quiet location, ideal for unwinding and relaxing. In the high season, it could possibly be different due to the proximity to the other houses, but I cannot judge that, only speculate. The way to the boat in the harbor should not be underestimated, especially with luggage (e.g. fishing gear). Unfortunately, there are no parking options at the harbor, but that cannot be blamed on the landlord. It should just be mentioned. That’s why there were also deductions for the location. Despite everything, we really enjoyed it, and I think we were not there for the last time at this beautiful place.

Very nice holiday cottage :-)

Hello Mrs. Ladendorf,

it was the best holiday home we have rented so far. Nothing was missing. Not even the mixed weather could affect us, thanks to the very nice covered outdoor terrace. We would love to come back in 2027.

Which sights are there at Fleesensee?

Swing Bridge, Monastery Complex, National Park

Those who rent accommodation, an apartment, or a holiday home privately in Malchow can also use the trip for an extended city trip. Several attractions enrich your stay. The monastery is one of the biggest attractions. In 1298, the Order of Penitents of Saint Mary Magdalene from Neu Röbel was given a building to establish the monastery. Over time, the ensemble expanded more and more. In 1972, Gertrud von Lücken, the last domina, died and was buried in the monastery cemetery. The monastery church also belongs to the monastery, as does the Engelsche Garden. The church is a very striking brick building. The interior of the church is spanned by ribbed vaults. Since 1997, the church has been owned by the city of Malchow. Since then, it has served as an exhibition space for the Mecklenburg Organ Museum. You should also take a look at the town church. The Müritz National Park covers an area of 320 square kilometers, making it the largest terrestrial national park in Germany. The park is covered three-quarters by forests. About 100 lakes and many other still waters are located here. Within the national park, you will find a rich flora and fauna. Here, fish, sea eagles, cranes, or black storks can be observed in their natural habitat. The national park is fully developed. Numerous hiking or cycling trails, rest areas, observation points, and lookout towers line the area. A bus line runs from Waren via Speck and Boek to Rechlin-Nord. The Malchow swing bridge connects the island to the western mainland. After numerous destructions and rebuilds, the bridge was last renovated in 2012/13. The structure is about 15 meters long and opens on the hour to allow ships to pass on the Müritz-Elde waterway. The Malchow city harbor is located directly on the right bank of the Müritz-Elde waterway. Definitely worth a leisurely stroll!

What can you experience at Fleesensee with children?

Monkeys, Tobogganing, Nature, and Spectacle

The island town of Malchow and the Mecklenburg Lake District are perfect for a vacation with the whole family or with children - including pets. Popular destinations include not only Lake Malchow but also Lake Plauer and Lake Fleesensee. Müritz, Lake Plauer, and Lake Fleesensee are within a chain of lakes. Lake Fleesensee extends west into Lake Malchow. In Untergöhren, the holiday and leisure facility Land Fleesensee regularly attracts families. A major highlight for both big and small children is the summer toboggan run with monkey forest in Malchow. In a 1.8-hectare enclosure, you come into contact with a large family of Barbary macaques. The summer toboggan run stretches over a length of 800 meters - with seven steep curves and six chicanes right in the middle of the monkey forest. A drag lift takes you up the 30 meters. 44 sleds are available for single and double sleds. Experience a theater spectacle at the Müritz with your children! In the summer, the Müritz Saga is on the program at the open-air stage in Waren. Adventurous stories full of action, humor, and love are performed - with themes from the history of the region. Just a few minutes' walk from the historic city center, the magnificent setting of the open-air stage on the Mühlenberg awaits.

Where can I eat out at Fleesensee?

Ingredients from Forests and Lakes

Either you cook for yourself in your apartment or holiday home, or you get to know some of the best restaurants and eateries in Malchow and the surrounding area. At the Seelust Restaurant in Röbel, you will find a rich selection of Mecklenburg dishes. With the winter garden with fireplace and the lakeside terrace, a wonderful ambiance is created. Directly in the historic old town of Waren is the "Alte Reusenhus". Every Friday and Saturday, there is fish or meat as an experience meal from the "Hot Stone". The terrace is directly adjacent to the shopping zone. Here you can also get smoked fish to take away. The Seestern Restaurant in Röbel prepares dishes with fresh ingredients from the surrounding lakes and forests. Enjoy fresh fish from the river or game from the local hunting grounds. The Landhaus Sietow offers a rustic yet elegant atmosphere. The menu features Mecklenburg specialties as well as traditional German and international dishes. Special recommendations from the kitchen include "Goat Cheese in Country Ham Coat" and the "Landhaus Burger."

What is a must-see at Fleesensee?

Kiek in un wunner di!

Renting an apartment or a holiday home in Malchow also means engaging with the land, the region, and the people. The best way to do this is to get to know the cultural life and traditions of the region. Particularly recommended is the Malchow Folk Festival, which was declared an intangible cultural heritage by UNESCO in 2014. It is the oldest homeland festival in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and takes place on the first weekend of July. For 160 years, the focus has been on music, people, and community. Countless businesses, clubs, and citizens participate in an impressive parade. In the house that housed the "Film Palace" during the GDR times, today you will find the DDR Museum or the local history museum. Since 1999, the impressive exhibition has been continuously expanded. Numerous memorabilia on topics such as weddings, cinema, youth consecration, or school start are lined up here. The exhibition also provides detailed insights into the everyday work and vacation life of GDR citizens. A focus is also on the television, radio, and photographic technology of the 1940s. "Kiek in un wunner di" - under this name, you will find a museum of a special kind near the monastery church. Here you can see rarities and curiosities from the everyday life of the population during the first half of the 20th century. You can visit a complete cobbler's workshop, a print shop, or an old classroom. In the process, you will also learn about various curious items (Tefifon or cobbler's ball). Motto: "Touch, try, participate." The Organ Museum is also an interesting excursion destination.

How do I come to Fleesensee?

Mecklenburg's Most Beautiful Beach Awaits You

Malchow is located in the district of Mecklenburg Lake District in the south of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. Since 2005, the small town has been a climatic health resort and since 2011 it has officially been known as "Island Town". The old town and many impressive buildings are situated on an island in the middle of Lake Malchow. The town is directly in the Mecklenburg Lake District, not far from Müritz. If you have rented a holiday home or apartment privately, the question arises as to how you would like to travel. By train, you can travel quite comfortably to your accommodation. There are connections from Hamburg, Rostock, or Berlin to Malchow. Those traveling by car or bus towards the house or accommodation will come off the A19 at Malchow. A dream vacation with a lake view can begin! Due to its great location, the island town of Malchow is also suitable for a wonderful beach holiday by the lake. Book a holiday accommodation or an apartment with a kitchen and terrace as well as a view of the water and spend unforgettable holidays according to your personal wishes full of activities and opportunities in one of the most beautiful regions of Germany.
