Dreamlike location

The house is simply fabulous. The furnishings leave nothing to be desired, and in the huge fenced garden, the dog was able to run around wonderfully. The house has a wonderful view of the lake, and the adjacent forest invites long walks.

Great holiday home!!!

Just a really great vacation home in a dream location. The vacation house is perfectly equipped; everything has really been thought of, great. We and our German Shepherd felt completely comfortable from the very first moment.
The only downside was that we couldn't turn off the hallway or staircase light.
Otherwise, it was perfect. We will definitely come back.

Pure relaxation

A wonderful holiday home if you love nature, seek peace, enjoy swimming in the lake, and love forest walks. It is perfect for up to 8 people and especially for dogs. Our dog loves the garden and has found his favorite spots there. The comfort of the house leaves nothing to be desired; the appliances and condition of the inventory are impeccable, and nothing is missing. Here, it’s hard not to relax ;-). Of course, the leisure options in and around the house are wonderful - billiards, table soccer, a beautiful lake with a "private jetty" (we brought a ladder for easier entry and exit), and the adjacent forest provide many opportunities. The surrounding area is also very beautiful - many lakes and surprisingly many museums and other attractions. In Malchow, you can find everything you need for shopping and nice restaurants. It was a great vacation for us 7+dog and we would vacation there again at any time. Thank you.

Which sights are there in Malchow?

Swing Bridge, Monastery Complex, National Park

Renting private accommodation, an apartment, or a holiday home in Malchow allows for an extended city trip. Several attractions enrich your stay. The monastery is one of the major attractions. In 1298, the Order of Penitents of Saint Mary Magdalene from Neu Röbel was given a building to establish the monastery. Over time, the ensemble expanded significantly. The monastery church is also part of the complex, as is the Engelsche Garten. The church is a very distinctive brick building. Since 1997, the monastery church has been owned by the city of Malchow and has since served as the exhibition space for the Mecklenburg Organ Museum. Admission is €7 for adults and €4 for children aged 6-13 (as of November 2023). The museum's monthly opening hours can be found here.

The Müritz National Park covers an area of 320 square kilometers, making it the largest national park in Germany. The park is three-quarters forested. It contains about 100 lakes and many other still waters. Within the national park, you can find a rich flora and fauna. Fish, white-tailed eagles, cranes, or black storks can be observed in their natural habitat. Numerous hiking and biking trails, rest areas, observation points, and lookout towers dot the area. The Malchow swing bridge connects the island to the mainland to the west. After numerous destructions and reconstructions, the swing bridge was last renewed in 2012/13. The structure is about 15 meters long and opens on the hour to allow ships to pass on the Müritz-Elde waterway.

It is the oldest local festival in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and takes place on the first weekend of July. For 160 years, the focus has been on music, people, and community. Countless businesses, clubs, and citizens participate in an impressive parade.

In the building that housed the "Film-Palast" during the GDR era, the DDR Museum is now located. Since 1999, the impressive exhibition has been continuously expanded. Numerous memorabilia on topics such as weddings, cinema, youth consecration, or school start are displayed here. The exhibition also provides detailed insights into the everyday work and vacation life of GDR citizens. A focus is also on the television, radio, and photographic technology of the 1940s. "Kiek in un wunner di" - under this name, you will find a museum of a special kind near the monastery church. Here, you can see rarities and curiosities from the everyday life of the population during the first half of the 20th century. You can visit a complete cobbler's workshop, a printing shop, or an old classroom. You will also learn about various curious items (Tefifon or cobbler's ball). The motto: "Touch, Try, Participate." Where can I eat out in Malchow?

Either you cook in your apartment or holiday home, or you get to know some of the best restaurants and eateries in and around Malchow. At the Seelust restaurant in Röbel, you can enjoy a rich selection of Mecklenburg dishes. With a winter garden with a fireplace and a lakeside terrace, a wonderful ambiance is created. Right in the historic old town of Waren is the "Alte Reusenhus". On Fridays and Saturdays, there is fish or meat as a special dining experience on the "Hot Stone."

The terrace is directly adjacent to the shopping zone. Here, you can also buy smoked fish to take away. The Seestern restaurant in Röbel prepares dishes with fresh ingredients from the surrounding lakes and forests. The menu features Mecklenburg specialties as well as traditional German and international dishes.
