Super beautiful little house

I booked at De Duinroos in Koog Texel for both children and their families before my retirement. Both families enjoyed the beautiful cottage in a lovely location. Clean, very complete, and in good order.

Great little house

Beautiful lovely little house with a big garden. We felt right at home here. 2 adults with a 7-year-old child and 2 dogs. It feels like coming home. The house was clean and everything was great. However, a few small things were missing in the kitchen for our needs. This may be different for other visitors. Outside in the garden, we would have liked a sunshade. But maybe that will come later. But overall everything is very nice and we have already booked for next year...
We are already looking forward to being able to go to the house next year... Best regards, Family Gauss

Vacation in absolute perfection ??☀️

There is basically not much to say, except that the entire accommodation is so great that you feel super comfortable from the first second. Very nice landlords, the accommodation tastefully and high-quality furnished. Everything is where you would expect it. The kitchen is better equipped than some at home. The location is central but still very quiet. If you, like me, don't want to see people, you still won't see any despite the high season. I am completely thrilled ❤️

What do you need to experience in De Koog?

Diverse Paths Through Nature

A highlight of a holiday in a house or apartment in De Koog is the Beachcomber's Museum, which collects interesting items that have washed ashore over the decades. The cultural-historical museum on an old farm vividly presents life on Texel in North Holland from times past. The Ecomare natural history museum with its huge aquarium focuses on the flora and fauna of the North Sea and the Wadden Sea, featuring exotic fish and native seals. Active vacationers can not only swim, boat, or surf on the island but also cycle or explore Texel via idyllic hiking trails, possibly discovering a secluded cove. The De Nederlanden nature reserve, part of the Duinen van Texel National Park, offers excellent hiking trails starting from the Mienterglop parking area. The last weekend of August is colorful with the Tropical Sea Festival, featuring big shows, concerts, and delicious food. The town center of De Koog, where you can find the impressive church dating back to 1415, is also worth a visit.

Between Pavilions and Seals

The beautiful sandy beach leaves nothing to be desired. Top-notch infrastructure, cleanliness, and family-friendliness are emphasized here. You'll find beach pavilions, umbrellas, lounge chairs, and sports activities for all ages. For a change of pace, you can visit the indoor go-kart track near De Koog or explore the island's various bike tours (e.g., Texel Nod Route and Texel Sud Route). Exciting boat trips, for example from Oudeschild, take you to the seal banks in the fabulous Wadden Sea.

Where can I eat out in De Koog?

From Asparagus, Lamb, and Sea Aster

Eating deliciously is a daily agenda during a holiday in a house or apartment in De Koog. There is something for every price range and preference on Texel. You'll find gourmet restaurants with Michelin stars as well as simple eateries serving home-cooked meals. Typical local products include Texel lamb, fresh fish, fine asparagus, and unique sea aster. If you're staying during the second weekend of September, you can visit Texel Culinair in De Koog, where world-class chefs create inventive dishes. Seafood lovers will enjoy the Havenvistijn in Oudeschild, where fresh fish is prepared in a homemade smoker, adding a deliciously unique flavor. Asparagus, known as the white gold of Texel, from Bert and Meina Keijser, is most commonly consumed between Mother's Day and Father's Day. For a tasty snack in between, you can visit the various beach pavilions on Texel.
