Dreamlike weekend in a great villa

The house has history - and a dreamlike location: right in the middle of Plau am See, yet quiet and with a view of the water and a garden where coffee tastes even better in the morning sun. The many bedrooms and the opportunities to cook together in the large kitchen and use the grill in the garden made this house a perfect place for our seminar group meeting of the old study group. In just a 20-minute walk, you can reach a very nice swimming spot at Lake Plau. Highly recommended for families with children, travel groups, friends.

Super holiday home

A very beautiful, clean, modernly furnished house. Everything you need is available. The property is fenced, and you can park your car directly there. It is only a few short meters to the beach. We really liked it and will definitely come back.

Vacation in nature

We have spent our vacation in this holiday home with our granddaughter for the second time. Everything you need was there. We did not use the boat. The holiday home has a nice location with a view of the lake. We like the peace here and the proximity to the lake with the small, child-friendly beach. We will definitely come back with grandchild No. 3.

Through the Old Town and into the Müritzeum

In the charming old town, over 150 houses are protected as historical monuments. Many of the historic half-timbered houses still have original wooden doors from the 19th century. The St. Marien Parish Church has been around since the 13th century. The remains of the former fortification even include a walkable castle tower and dungeon. In the castle courtyard, there is a museum dedicated to Plau's craftsmanship and industrialization. Other interesting excursion destinations include the Plau Water Mill, the former synagogue, the drawbridge built by prisoners of war, and the Eldeschleuse. For a panoramic view of the lake, climb the lookout tower right at the transition from the Müritz-Elde Waterway to Lake Plau. One of the most visited attractions in the region is located in the town of Waren: the Müritzeum. Serving as both a museum and adventure park on the Mecklenburg Lake District, it is the first natural history museum in Schwerin. Admission prices start at €7 for children up to 16, adults pay €14 per ticket (as of September 2023). Dogs are also allowed here. The Müritzeum is open daily from 11 AM to 7 PM from April to October. The Plau Drawbridge is in the center of the town of Plau am See. The bridge is passed under by boats exiting Lake Plau into the Elde. Also, climb the "Moorochse" lookout tower and enjoy the view of the Nordufer nature reserve.

In the Land of 1000 Lakes, a round tour of the Mecklenburg Lakes is a must. In Göhren-Lebbin at Fleesensee, the so-called Flanierball takes place annually in November at Schloss Fleesensee. Experience many musicians and the Neubrandenburg Philharmonic Orchestra. The Dobbertiner See is located in the Sternberger Seenlandschaft, north of Goldberg. Here, there is a fish ladder and a monastery from the 13th century. The Tollensesee is a lake south of the city center of Neubrandenburg. In Neubrandenburg, there are several attractions to admire: a medieval city fortification, a church from the 13th century, the oldest theater building in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, and more. Every year from late September to early October, the Müritz Fish Days take place, focusing on regional food culture and the variety of fish species from the waters of the Mecklenburg Lake District.
