An absolute heart accommodation?

We felt completely at home in the "Fernblick" from the very first moment.
The holiday apartment is exceptionally clean, lovingly furnished, and perfectly equipped – there is really nothing missing.
In every single room, there were fresh flowers from the garden.
The dreamy garden is a small paradise! And this wonderful view!

Bija and her husband are incredibly warm, super hospitable, and very helpful. We were constantly spoiled with many loving little things – even our little Nala ? was treated to homemade treats. ❤️

For us, it was clear from the first day: We will come back! That's why we booked again for next year right away.

Everything was simply a dream – absolute 5 stars and a clear recommendation for both two-legged and four-legged friends! ? ✨

Great accommodation

This accommodation can only be highly recommended. A large apartment at a fair price with everything you need. Very lovingly furnished, spacious bathroom with a bathtub and a great terrace. Since there are no neighbors, you enjoy absolute peace. We were thrilled and would like to thank the very kind and helpful host again.

Completely satisfied

We felt very comfortable here right away. Mr. Werthmann explained everything important well, and we were able to enjoy the whirlpool and sauna. The location is very quiet. The house is nicely furnished without being overloaded. The stairs to the bedrooms take some getting used to because of the staggered steps, but you learn to deal with it. We lacked nothing here.

What do you need to experience in Freyung-Grafenau?

Deep in the Forests and High on the Rocks

The Bavarian Forest is a vacation paradise for nature lovers and hikers. If you have four-legged family members, a vacation with your dog in Freyung-Grafenau is just right. Most of the Bavarian Forest area is protected as a nature park and national park. Away from the roads, dogs can frolic and run freely. Various regional museums make the history and use of this unique natural space tangible, such as the Hunting and Fishing Museum at Schloss Wolfstein in Freyung, the Forest Museum in Zwiesel, or the Celtic Village Gabreta near Ringelai. On your hikes through the forests, several castle ruins are to be discovered. The Runding Castle on the Schlossberg is situated over 500 meters above sea level. The Weißenstein Castle Ruins perch on a 758-meter-high quartz rock. The castle belonged to the writer Siegfried von Vegesack, who in 1932 wrote the novel "The Devouring House" about it, hinting at the high maintenance costs of the castle. Those who want to experience the forest from a bird's eye view can do so on the Forest Treetop Walk in Sankt Englmar–Maibrunn near Sankt Englmar and on the Baumwipfelpfad in the Bavarian Forest National Park at Neuschönau. On the nearly one-and-a-half-kilometer-long path up to 44 meters high, you can enjoy a view all the way to the Bavarian Alps.

Where can I eat out in Freyung-Grafenau?

Reiberknödl and Dampfnudel Blues in Freyung-Grafenau

The southeast of Bavaria is a land for connoisseurs. What used to be merely hearty fillers on the table is now elevated by chefs through creativity and the quality of ingredients. Meat dishes top the menus of restaurants and inns around your affordable vacation apartment or house in Freyung-Grafenau. Schweinsbraten with Reiberknödl is the most common dish, with various dumpling variations served as side dishes in the Bavarian Forest region—extending to Bohemian and Austrian influences from neighboring countries. From the poor man's kitchen, numerous pan dishes have evolved using everyday kitchen ingredients. These include potatoes, grains, white cabbage, fruits, eggs, and dairy products. The most famous is probably the Kaiserschmarrn (which also migrated from Austrian cuisine). Other meats include lamb, veal, sheep, as well as game and ox. Here, chefs outdo each other with the tastiest variations, whether grilled, boiled, or roasted. Naturally, the favorite drink of Bavarians is beer. Almost every small village has its own brewery. Many inns that do not brew themselves source their unique hop brews from larger regional breweries.

How do I come to Freyung-Grafenau?
