Beautiful vacation
We made a last-minute booking with the Stempfhuber family. Upon arrival, Elisabeth and Manfred Stempfhuber warmly welcomed us in their cozy kitchen and provided us with information. The vacation apartment was large enough, cozy, and very clean. We lacked nothing. In nice weather, the garden and a seating area with a grill invite you to linger and enjoy the tranquility. There is also a hut where you can sit comfortably. In the village, there is an Edeka and a bakery, as well as a butcher. There is also the option of a bread roll service. The landscape is wonderful and invites hiking and relaxation. Other excursion possibilities, such as a mine, wildlife enclosure, treetop path, open-air museum, and much more, can be reached within an hour. We sincerely thank you and really enjoyed our holiday!

Actually, we didn't really plan to go on vacation, but then we spontaneously landed an absolute hit with the Stempfhuber family. We, as a family with two children (10 & 6 years old), were warmly welcomed and provided with information and excursion possibilities. The apartment and garden are very cozy and have everything you need for relaxation. Above all, the apartment is large enough so that you don't constantly step on each other's feet. Excursion destinations in the surrounding area (national park, Grafenau, Freyung, Passau, etc.) or a bit further to Linz are easily accessible. Unfortunately, we didn't go to Czech Republic because we didn't have any more time. Our son will especially remember this vacation fondly, as he was able to celebrate his 10th birthday there and the Stempfhubers had a little surprise in store. We all simply felt super comfortable. Even the weather was on our side, pure sunshine despite a week of rain forecast. Full 5 ⭐️❗️

Highly recommended?
The vacation home is super nice, cozy, and spacious. Highly recommended for couples or small families. The owners are very nice and helpful. Attractions and shopping opportunities are easily accessible by car or on foot in the village (Hinterschmiding).

Comfortable accommodation
Very nice and open-minded hosts. You feel at home very quickly. The location is great and you can reach all the sights in about 30 minutes by car. The rooms and the entire outdoor area invite you to relax. A big thank you to Manfred and Elisabeth Stempfhuber. We will be happy to come back!

The great recovery
As a retired couple (67/68 years old), we wanted to escape the intense heat at home and spend relaxing days in the Bavarian Forest. It was a complete success. We found a spacious, very clean apartment that lacked nothing. A large well-kept garden with a barbecue and a beautiful garden hut allowed us to relax optimally in maximum peace. The Upper Austrian Danube Valley with Linz and beautiful Danube monasteries, as well as the Moldau Reservoir in nearby Czech Republic, are quickly accessible by car. And last but not least, the dear hosts who were always eager to make this holiday as pleasant as possible for us. In short, everything was great!

Spontaneous bullseye
At very short notice, we were looking for a holiday apartment and were lucky that this one became available due to a cancellation, and the Stempfhubers were so flexible to quickly confirm our booking. The apartment is wonderfully quiet and has a beautiful large garden for exclusive use, which we used every day for breakfast and grilled in the evenings twice. The apartment is well equipped and spotlessly clean. The Stempfhuber family, who live in the same house above, are super nice hosts who immediately made us feel at home here. From Hinterschmiding, you can start beautiful hikes or quickly reach destinations like the National Park, Český Krumlov in Czech Republic, or Passau. However, a car is a must. We would love to come back again.
