The holiday house is situated in the middle of the Bavarian Forest National Park on the slope of the Lusen ( m altitude) with a wonderful panoramic view. It is a cosy detached house in Bavarian country house style with 4 separate bedrooms, living room with Swedish stove (firewood is of course provided) and satellite TV, large kitchen with new electrical appliances, two showers/3 WCs, a large veranda and sunbathing lawn, which invites you to barbecue or campfire. There is a smoker, a kettle grill or a fire bowl with swivel grill! With playground and XXL trampoline. There is room for up to 8 people. (Nine is also possible in a pinch ;))
From egg cooker to hairdryer and everything is on site.
And brand new: there's also a foosball table!

Here you will find healing peace and relaxation, unspoilt nature and many sporting opportunities such as hiking and winter sports for an active holiday. The holiday home is located in the upper part of the mountain village Waldhäuser at about 1000 metres above sea level with a wonderful panoramic view. It is a detached house in Bavarian country house style surrounded by meadows and trees, very quietly located in a dead-end street. The large property promises pure nature and absolute tranquillity! It is only a few metres to the toboggan run, cross-country ski runs, ski lifts, hiking trails and restaurants
The mountain village of Waldhäuser is located in the middle of the Bavarian Forest National Park on the slope of the Lusen with a magnificent panoramic view. Also known as an artists' village where painters and sculptors have settled. Equipped with hiking trails, cycling paths, toboggan run, cross-country ski trails and two ski lifts. Two restaurants cater for your physical well-being
You can start your hikes directly from the front door.
The Bavarian Forest and the Bohemian Forest are one of the largest contiguous forest areas in Central Europe. The national park is accessible through a well-developed network of hiking trails. You will encounter rare flora and fauna, beautiful mixed forests and forest meadows crossed by small mountain streams. The lynx has also returned to the region. National park rangers are on hand to offer advice and help and ensure that this unique wilderness is preserved in its original state.
In a large animal and outdoor enclosure with an information centre in the immediate vicinity of Waldhäuser, you will encounter bears, wolves, bison, deer, lynx, beavers and many other animal species that were once native to the region and some of which once again live freely in the forests. A special experience is the walk along the longest treetop path in the world. Here you can follow the life of the forest from a different perspective and have a magnificent view of the surrounding forests and mountain peaks.
The region is relatively snow-sure, so you can go tobogganing, skiing and snowshoeing in winter. Waldhäuser and the surrounding countryside offer a wealth of recreational opportunities for the whole family, such as swimming fun in wonderful forest lakes or in the Grafenau adventure park. For skaters, there is also a skate park. An interesting experience is a visit to the Finsterau open-air museum, where old farms and a historic local inn stand amidst meadows and fields. The glassmaking trade has a long tradition in the area, and glasses of the highest quality are produced here. A visit to a glassworks is an experience worth seeing.
Worthwhile excursions include hikes into the nearby Czech Republic (Sumava National Park) and a trip to Krumlov with its unique medieval townscape (World Heritage Site). Other recommended destinations are a visit to the three-river city of Passau with its Italianate city architecture, Regensburg with its fascinating old town and the Stone Bridge (World Heritage Site), Straubing with its annual Gäuboden Festival, the Ilz Valley (award-winning river landscape) with rare animal and plant species. Otter, beaver, black stork, fire salamander and river pearl mussel still occur here. A boat trip on the Danube to the Schlögen loop (Upper Austria) is interesting and varied.

There is nothing missing here.
The beautifully furnished house is really prepared for everything, we didn't miss anything. Beautiful hikes can directly be started from the house, Lusen and Rachel are easily reachable on foot, as well as many other sights. Shopping possibilities are about 8km away in Spiegelau, which also has everything. The 2 restaurants in Waldhäuser are also highly recommended.
Our 2 weeks passed by in a flash.

9 wonderful days
The holiday home leaves nothing to be desired in terms of location, equipment and comfort. It is fully equipped and offers a sauna and terrace as well as a versatile starting point for hikes. We (6 adults) could enjoy sunsets and barbecues to the fullest and 2 inns in the immediate vicinity fulfilled culinary wishes. Mr. Butscher contacted us from the first day and was responsive at all times. We agree: this was a wonderful holiday in Waldhäuser.

Well-being holiday
From the very first moment we felt at home in the lovingly furnished and above-average well-equipped house. The location is fantastic and the sauna area is the icing on the cake. It was a thoroughly positive stay - we will be very happy to come back.

A holiday home to come back to
We were guests in this lovely holiday home for 1 week. Our whole family - 4 adults, two toddlers and our dog felt super comfortable
The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need. The sofa is great, there are more sockets than necessary
There are towels everywhere, which is not a matter of course.
The sauna area is an absolute added value and we also used it as a children's playground during the day. We also enjoyed the sauna very much and then watching the sunset on the terrace - wonderful.
For us, a holiday home where we would go again!

Our wonderful vacation
In this very clean house, nothing is lacking! Really, everything is there and in good condition. As a guest, you immediately notice that someone here takes care of this property with heart and soul. The location is pleasantly quiet but not completely isolated from everything. Still surrounded by a lot of nature.
Things run very differently here than in vacation homes where the landlord constantly imposes himself. If there are actually problems or questions, Mr. Butscher is always available and provides support and advice. Otherwise, he does not impose himself and allows guests to enjoy their vacation, especially the peace and quiet. And there is plenty of that. As mentioned before, nothing is missing. We were able to use the smoker and fire pit. The terrace offers a beautiful view. Play equipment for children is available, and there is something available for bad weather days if necessary. In addition, you can go hiking, for example, the treetop path is only about 10 minutes away by car, and there are many other opportunities for experiencing nature here. The kitchen is extensively equipped. And so it goes on and on, but hardly fits in a comment field...
Conclusion: The National Park Home can only be recommended.

Idyllic location...
...and very peaceful. It was a very nice vacation in your house. The view from the terrace to the mountains is wonderful.
We were there with 7 people, including 2 children. Everything you need can be found there. The house is very clean and cozy - it invites you to relax.

Alles was das Wanderherz begehrt
Ein tolles Haus in einer wunderbaren Lage. Der Ausblick und die Stille sind schon beeindruckend,das Haus bietet nahezu alles was das Herz begehrt und wenn man sich doch entschließen sollte das Haus zu verlassen, dann sind im Umfeld kurze ( ca. 2 Std) und ausgiebige (ca. 5Std) Wandertouren zu Fuß gut machbar. Zwei Restaurants fußläufig bin von wenigen Minuten erreichbar- falls man die gut ausgestattete Küche mal ruhen lassen will.
Zudem ist der Vermieter stets und schnell erreichbar ...man fühlt sich sehr willkommen.

Traumhafter Urlaub mit der Familie
Anlässlich eines runden Geburtstags haben wir eine Woche in diesem sehr gemütlichen Ferienhaus mit der gesamten Familie verbracht und wir haben uns rundum wohl gefühlt. Das Haus bietet ausreichend Platz - auch für 8 Personen; die Ausstatttung lässt absolut gar nichts zu wünschen übrig. Das Haus ist sauber; die Ortschaft sehr ruhig und der Ausblick traumhaft. Die Kinder hatten jede Menge Spaß mit Trampolin, Schaukel, Baumhaus und Tischfussballtisch. Wandern, schwimmen, Outdoor-Spielplätze, Einkaufsmöglichkeiten - diese Region hat sehr viel zu bieten.
Das Paket wird mit einem sehr freundlichen und zuvorkommenden Vermieter abgerundet. Wir werden auf jeden Fall gerne wieder kommen!

Great house
We were 3 couples and 2 dogs in this great holiday home. The furnishings were top notch. We have already stayed in a few houses, but the National Parkhome surpassed everything. The equipment was great and plentiful (lots of crockery, egg boiler, kettle, toaster, washing machine, dishwasher, everything available). The house was also very homely: Cosy blankets, cushions and decorations. What was also used daily was the sauna. We and our dogs felt at home. We will definitely come again. The contact with Mr Butcher was very good. He checked right away in the evening if everything was OK.

Top house in best altitude location
The 4 of us , parents with daughter and grandma , spent 1 wonderful week in early January in the snow and in a very well equipped holiday home ! There is nothing missing here , from the parking space in front of the front door , to the neat kitchen to the living room with dining area and fireplace , to the beautiful bedrooms with views of the mountains and valleys. Everything is fine , even the landlord asks if everything is in order - simply reliable and pleasant , compliments . Excursions to the national park on the doorstep, or to Passau or the Czech Krumau - from Waldhäuser everything is easy to do. The 4 of us agreed - a wonderful holiday , certainly also in summer ; )

sehr gut
Wir waren 1 Woche dort in Waldhäuser mit unserem kl. Raubdackel, und es hat uns sehr gut gefallen. Das Haus ist mit allem ausgestattet, was man so braucht, und es ist urgemütlich. Der Blick von der Terrasse ist einmalig. Hat man Probleme oder Anfragen, Hr. Butcher hilft sofort.

Top Häuschen in bester Lage
Wir können uns der vorigen Bewertung nur anschließen. Es war für uns eine wunderbar erholsame Woche. Besonders positiv aufgefallen ist uns, dass in diesem Häuschen an alles gedacht wurde, auch Kleinigkeiten wie z. B. ausreichend Gewürze, Kaffeefilter, Spülmaschinentabs. Die Sauna hat uns besonders gut getan. Die Kinder haben sich über den Rodelhang und div. DVDs gefreut. Es gab sogar einen Zipflbob. Vielen Dank an Herrn Butscher für die schöne Woche.

Wir sind immer noch begeistert...
Wir waren 1 Woche im Winterurlaub in dem schönen Ferienhaus und es war einfach toll. Von Beginn an funktionierte alles reibungslos. Das Haus ist herrlich gelegen, ruhig, nur einen Katzensprung von den Skihängen und auch die Loipen sind nicht weit weg. Der Ausblick ist grandios und die Sauna ein großes Plus. Das Haus ansich ist wirklich gemütlich und mit allem ausgestattet was der Mensch so braucht. Handtücher, Bettwäsche und Fön kann man zu Hause lassen, was nicht überall selbstverständlich ist. Auch für Kinder super, Rodelberg direkt am Haus (Schlitten sind vor Ort vorhanden!). Der örtliche Liftbetreiber/Skischule bietet sowohl Ausrüstung als auch Skikurse an, alles zu fairen Preisen. Auch da sehr nette Menschen, total unkompliziert. Wir haben schon einige Ferienhäuser im Bayerischen Wald getestet aber hier sind wir uns sicher, wir kommen wieder. Im Ort gibt es ansich keine Einkaufsmöglichkeiten was für uns kein Problem darstellte (waren ja mit dem Auto - nächster Ort mit größeren Einkaufsmöglichkeiten ca. 7 km), Brötchen kann man bei Bedarf beim Liftbetreiber/Skischule bestellen und es gibt einen Gasthof wo man gut bürgerlich essen kann. Ohne Schnee kann man toll wandern und in der Umgebung z. B. den Baumwipfelweg und ein großes Tiergehege besuchen, auch Passau ist eine Reise wert. Vielen Dank Fam. Butscher und bis nächstes Jahr!!!
