My lovingly furnished holiday home Sehnsucht promises relaxing hours amidst the picturesque landscape of the Hochsauerland. The modern amenities ensure that you feel completely at ease from the very first moment. “This tranquility is overwhelming,” I often hear from guests who enjoy their time here – a compliment I am happy to pass on. On mild evenings on the covered veranda, you watch the sun set behind the Ruthenberg and enjoy in complete peace the unique view of the natural monument Die Bruchhauser Steine. During the day, the awning provides pleasant shade, so you can use your favorite spot at any time without worry.
Right outside your front door, your little hiking paradise begins: countless paths lead you through idyllic forests, over gentle hills, and past impressive viewpoints. All routes are described in my lovingly compiled house folder, supplemented with numerous tips for excursions, cultural highlights, and leisure activities in the area.
On the small, private lawn, sun loungers invite you to let your gaze wander into the distance, enjoy a good book, or simply let your soul dangle. The garden is screened from view in selected areas and is available exclusively for your use – a place where you can experience peace and privacy undisturbed.
Sehnsucht Sauerland is designed on one level and is therefore especially comfortable. The separate bedroom with double bed offers retreat and relaxation. A third person sleeps comfortably on the spacious sofa bed (1.60 m) in the living room. Next to the bedroom is the modern shower bathroom, which was completely renovated in 2023.
In the kitchen you will find everything you need to prepare delicious meals: classic coffee machine and Senseo machine, oven, refrigerator with freezer compartment, dishwasher, toaster, waffle iron, and much more.

My beautiful feel-good holiday homes and feel-good holiday apartments are located in the heart of the Rothaar Mountains in 59939 Olsberg-Elleringhausen. Countless hiking opportunities start right at the front door and are lovingly described in the house folder.
From the living rooms and terraces, you can enjoy the wonderful panoramic view of the natural monument Bruchhauser Steine. Right outside the front door, green forests and lush meadows await you. Breathe in the fresh mountain air deeply and let yourself be enchanted by the unique scent of the forest.
If you’re in the mood for a bit more hustle and bustle, you’ll find everything gastronomy and tourism have to offer in the neighboring towns of Willingen (11 km) and Winterberg (20 km). By the way, the shops here are also open almost every Sunday.
Dogs love to cool off in the many small mountain streams that run through the forest everywhere. My guests like to go swimming at Lake Diemelsee, which is 25 minutes away by car, where even the hottest days can be enjoyed by both dog and human at the beautiful serviced dog beach. The beautiful Silbersee, located in the middle of the forest, is also always worth a walk of about 1.5 hours.
My guests can find wellness at the Sauerlandtherme AQUA Olsberg, 7 km away, the Lagunenbad Willingen (11 km), and of course in the in-house wellness area with sauna, shower, forest sofa, and beach chair. Guests with children and teenagers love a visit to the Fort Fun amusement park (20 km), where dogs are also welcome and have free admission. In winter, my wooden sleds are available as decoration or for borrowing at the houses, and anyone who wants can zoom down the meadow opposite the houses.
In many neighboring villages, cute little Christmas markets are set up, some of which continue beyond the holidays, enticing visitors with wintry scents and festive lights. Cutting your own Christmas tree, which is offered here and there, is also popular.

Despite the very well-equipped kitchen, there is of course no obligation to cook for yourself every day. In my leisure suggestions you will find my personal tips for eating out in particularly cozy restaurants, where you will not have any unpleasant surprises. A great alternative is the inexpensive home-style cooking from the local butcher Neumann, which is offered fresh daily. The pizza delivery services are also very familiar with the address of the Häuser am Wald. The bread roll taxi will hang a fragrant bag on your front door at the weekend upon request.
Especially popular with my guests is the large breakfast buffet here in the village at Hotel Haus Keuthen, where dogs are also welcome. Perhaps during your holiday you would also like to sit at a fragrant, set coffee table after a short walk.
I will tell you about well-kept swimming pools and beautiful bathing lakes nearby and have put together a list of suggestions for younger children. For dog owners, there is a page with all information and emergency addresses. There is a competent veterinarian here in the village.
Young people especially love the Skywalk Willingen, the climbing forest, the tubing track, and my free Wi-Fi. At every bed, there are two USB ports with a phone shelf.
For guests with bicycles and e-bikes, I have set up a bicycle garage with charging facilities, free of charge. The houses by the forest are located in the middle of the Bike Arena Sauerland.
