There are places where you want to stay because they are simply beautiful. This is undoubtedly one of them. As soon as you cross the causeway onto the island, a feeling of freedom and relaxation sets in. Here you can take a deep breath and arrive in the fantastically situated holiday home Meerkieker. On 110 m², up to 6 adults + 1 toddler find enough space for a relaxing holiday. From the living area on the upper floor, with its large window front, there is an almost majestic view of the Baltic Sea. On the ground floor, a large, open-plan kitchen/living room with TV and wood-burning stove invites you to spend cosy hours together. In the two bedrooms on the ground floor, as well as another one upstairs, you can really get a good night's sleep. The bedrooms face the field and are therefore very quiet. On the ground floor, as well as on the upper floor, you have a bathroom each for short distances. Wi-Fi and 2 satellite TVs provide digital entertainment.
There is a furnished terrace in front of the house, from where you can already smell the Baltic Sea, which is only 150 m away. The scent of the Baltic Sea, the green fields in the immediate vicinity and the house's own barbecue make holiday feelings rise.

The Baltic Sea island of Poel, which can be reached by car via a causeway, offers great recreational value. The island is a state-recognised resort as well as a recognised Baltic Sea spa. The holiday home is located in the Schwarzer Busch district, on the edge of a holiday home settlement. Due to the location on the edge of the field, in a dead-end street, there is hardly any car traffic. All facilities are within short walking distance. Within 2 to 10 minutes you can reach the beach (also guarded), promenade, bicycle rental, restaurants, cafés, ice cream parlour, fish snack, bread sale, playgrounds, mini golf, kiosk with beach supplies and more.
Leisure and excursions
By car you can quickly reach the Hanseatic city of Wismar and the Baltic Sea resorts of Rerik and Kühlungsborn. Popular excursion destinations include the historic old town and harbour in Wismar, the Wonnemar leisure and adventure pool or the lighthouse in Bastorf. A visit to the Rostock Zoo and Schwerin Castle are also highly recommended.

Easter on the island
The house was clean, the communication and booking worked well.
Unfortunately, the upper living room could not be used without bumps.
The slopes are better suited for bedrooms.
In the kitchen area, the large cabinet wall is unnecessary, a sofa would fit there, the few glasses fit in the kitchen cabinets.
Maybe the owners should regularly take a vacation there themselves.
Otherwise, it was nice again at the Black Bush, we will come back, but to a different house. The mattresses should be changed.

Overall, everything is fine.
For me, the extremely large entrance gate to the property was totally negative. It couldn’t be properly closed but was held together with tension straps. If you wanted to quickly go out to the baker, for example, a second person always had to come out to hold the gate open. It was annoying. We had our mobility-impaired mother with us on vacation. When we came home after a long day, she always had to put her feet up in her room because there was no sofa, only a large dining table with chairs. So the togetherness was always gone, my mother in her room and us in the kitchen on chairs. And especially in bad weather, it's not nice to sit on chairs in front of the TV. In summer, we can use the terrace, which is something else, but it was uncomfortable for us like that.

Super location ... with some restrictions
The house is very well located, you only walk a few meters to the last section of beach before the dog beach, which for us is the nicest beach on the island. Behind the house, the field with the bike path toward Timmdorf begins right away. The house has a nice size for up to 6 people, and you can park right next to the house. The house itself is a bit worn out. There are many stains on the walls. The faucets in the bathrooms wobble, the one in the upper bathroom is incorrectly connected, the drain in the shower does not drain properly, so after showering, the bathroom, as the doors also do not seal with the floor, is always under water. The house is well-equipped; there is more available than in most holiday homes. However, everything is very mixed, especially in the kitchen, where no knife or fork matches the other. There are many "dirty corners." On the terrace, for example, there are old flower pots lying around, or the mailbox is next to the door. In the shed, there are some old garden chairs, grills, and broken umbrellas scattered around. This only allows for about 4 items to be stored inside (including 2 children's bikes). The door cannot be locked there. The key is on the board in the shed upon arrival. A practical approach, but the keyring is so dirty and greasy that you wouldn't want to touch it! What really annoyed us upon arrival is the fact that there are not two 140cm beds in the house, but that the bed in the upper bedroom has a continuous 180cm mattress! We were not prepared for that, as it was stated differently in the house description!
However, what bothered us the most about the house is the penetrating, sharp smell from the nightstands on the lower floor and the cabinet in the dining room. The glasses stored there could only be used after we had thoroughly rinsed them.
We can't say anything negative about the contact with the booking agency and the homeowners.

Good, but it can be better.
The vacation home is located very nicely and quietly with very short distances to the beach. The amenities were good. Unfortunately, there is no microwave, and the safety of children was not adequately considered. There are no childproof covers on the sockets, and a stair gate should be installed for small children at the stairs in the upper floor. The furnishings of the rooms are very good; however, the slatted frame of the double bed on the 1st floor is broken, so we had to fix it ourselves. The outdoor facilities have unfortunately not been maintained for some time. The hedges make it impossible to use the paths without constantly disturbing thousands of mosquitoes. Otherwise, everything needed was available in sufficient quantity and in good condition. Even furniture for enjoying the fresh air was available in sufficient numbers. It's a pity that there is such a mosquito plague this year, which could not be managed even with mosquito candles and mosquito coils. We still really enjoyed the vacation in the house. Thank you very much to the landlords!

Um die Kindersicherung Steckdose + Treppengitter kümmern wir uns. Danke für den Hinweis. Um das defekte Lattenrost kümmern wir uns ebenfalls umgehend. Die Hecken im Außenbereich wurden in den vergangenen Tagen geschnitten. In der Tat gibt es keine Mikrowelle. Diese ist bei der Ausstattung auch nicht aufgeführt. Wir denken darüber nach, eine anzuschaffen. Viele Grüße

Location top, house unkempt.
- No functional dishwasher, also not fully emptied
- Wi-Fi only after a long time, password entered incorrectly despite specific inquiry
- Lighting in the living room not suitable for reading, floor lamps would be beneficial
- No exterior lighting at parking space/shed
- No blackout options at kitchen window, upper bedroom window
- Mixing valve in the lower bathroom is leaking, green residue
- Other mixing valves spray water as aerator is clogged
- Mixing valve in the upper bathroom is installed the wrong way
- Shower's shower bar cannot be adjusted in angle and height
- Shed should be tidied up. - It was hardly possible to get close to the garden chairs.
- No space for 4 bicycles.
- With full occupancy in the living room, there are not enough seats. There is space for more seats.
- The driveway gate closes hard. The latch doesn't engage - it always has to be locked.
- Both gates squeak - oiling would also be a nice gesture for sleeping neighbors.
- Possibly attach gliders to the kitchen chairs.
- Only 1 house key is available, and even upon request, no second one can be obtained. With several adults, an organizational challenge
We are not chronic complainers, but very experienced with FH and skilled craftsmen ourselves. Please consider this merely as a suggestion for improving your offer. When several things do not work well or at all, it is annoying, and the discontent affects the vacation. Overall, the house seemed somewhat carelessly and thoughtlessly furnished. However, the lounge chair in the living room is a real highlight, very comfortable. With minimal effort/investments, the criticisms could be addressed. In its current state, we can only conditionally recommend the FH. Perhaps there are plans on your part to address this during the winter.

- alle genannten Mängel werden in Kürze geprüft
- Das W-LAN Passwort war korrekt (die Schreibweise wurde Ihnen telefonisch erklärt, es kam keine Rückmeldung, daher sind wir davon ausgegangen, dass alles in Ordnung ist)
- Das Besteck wurde leider von der Reinigungskraft übersehen. Dafür haben wir uns gleich entschuldigt.
- Der Geschirrspüler ist in der Tat während Ihres Aufenthaltes kaputt gegangen. Ein Techniker war vor Ort. Der Geschirrspüler war nicht zu reparieren und musste ausgetauscht werden. Das ist jetzt erfolgt.
- Bezüglich des 2. Schlüssels haben Sie vor Ort mitgeteilt, dass es nicht so wichtig sei. Selbstverständlich hätten Sie auf Bitte einen 2. Schlüssel erhalten.
Die Vermieterin war stets bemüht, Ihnen einen schönen Aufenthalt zu ermöglichen. Die Ausstattung entspricht den Bildern im Internet. Alle Räume sind detailliert dargestellt und die Bilder sind aktuell. Daher sind wir etwas verwundert, dass Sie über die Einrichtung enttäuscht waren. Wir hoffen dennoch, dass Sie die Zeit im Haus Meerblick in dieser absolut tollen Lage genossen haben und sich gut erholen konnten.
